My daughter competed in her first Speech and Debate. She placed 3rth and 4th in both events! To celebrate we grabbed breakfast at District Donuts! My daughter ordered the Miso Praline Bacon Sandwich, Peppermint Bark Donut and the Cookie Butter Latte. I have to give credit where credit is due. The kid knows how to order! I also ordered a Cookie Butter Latte and the Hot Chicken & Honey Butter biscuit. Now to describe the Hot Chicken sandwich I will some it up in 3 words. Sweet, spicy, and MMMMMMM. Okay that last one wasn't a word but you get the picture. It was DELICOUS! The lattes were tasty. The rim of the cup is coated in cookie crumbs. Nice touch! Full warning on both of the sandwiches. Having just got off my flight to New Orleans I was very hungry and have been wanting to try this place. My sister lives in Louisiana and said their donuts are amazing! They are more cake like and not as sugary which I love! The decor is very cool and the staff is inviting which is great. All the donut prices are very fair and their coffee is Stumptown Roasters so very very delicious. They have a ton of fun flavors but I went with the Maple Bacon don't as well as he Cinnamon bun per the request of my sister and my mom got a cheddar biscuit. Although I can't comment on the taste of the biscuit as I didn't try it, I can say that the donut was amazing as was the cinnamon bun ! These donuts remind me of the ones at DOUGH in NYC so if you are familiar with that place and love their donuts you will definitely like it here! Additionally the staff actually brings your food to you which is a very nice added touch. I have only been to the District Donuts in Baton Rouge, but have known about the ones started in New Orleans. After my husband & I attended the Krampus haunted house, we came here for a quick meal. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, which him & I split. It was quite delicious and very filling. The bacon was not the best I have ever had, but it was good. For some reason (that I don't know), the bacon served with burgers at the Baton Rouge location is so much better! Different bacon distributor perhaps. The customer service was great and they were still so nice even though we got there about 45 minutes before they closed. There was only one complaint I had that my husband felt the same way about and it was when they turned up the music super loud. It's not a dance club folks. Thankfully, I think they noticed it was up too loud after awhile and turned it back down to a normal sound level. The location is super convenient and parking was quite plentiful, since it's located in a plaza/shopping center. If you are looking for dessert, try a donut or 2 and maybe even a chocolate chip cookie... got 2 of those and I loved them! read more

After visiting this place on an average of once or twice a week, I figured it was time to write a review. I love this place. The donuts are so creative and delicious. The kolaches are ALL amazing, I haven't had a bad one. My favorite is the pork belly. I'm generally there in the morning, so most of my opinions are about the breakfast and coffee. I highly recommend the breakfast taco if you're sitting down to eat breakfast. The real reason I'm at District so often is the coffee. As you'll hear from most people, the Vietnamese Iced Coffee is great, however, all of their coffee drinks are great. They truly take the time to make each drink, and you can tell. Unlike the "average" coffee shop (i.e. Starbucks) where their only concern is pumping out a ton of mediocre lattes. I recently had their sliders for the first time. My goodness these little things are a bite from heaven. Perfectly cooked and juicy. The bread is soft and slightly sweet. The pickles have the perfect crunch. I can't get over how good they are. Their waffle fries are pretty standard, but good and crisp. I was surprised, but I was not a fan of the cheese sauce with jalapeños. I will probably try it again though. Everyone has an off day. Maybe I just caught it on that, especially since everything is so fresh. The restaurant is very clean and I love that I can use the flok app for rewards with them. But the greatest thing about this place is the staff. They truly take the time to give you a great product and they are all very friendly. I've never had a bad experience with the staff. read more

I always order a specialty donut (revolving/seasonal donut menu) and the breakfast is just as yummy as the lunch. My favorite lunch in the past has been the pimento chicken sandwich. I had a breakfast sandwich...it had bacon and fried egg. Menu had and over easy egg but I requested fried hard. The sandwich was huge and about $8.50. I ordered two donuts reg glazed $1.50 and a caramel blonde donut. $3.00. I also ordered a vanilla bean latte with oat milk. I enjoyed the latte. The biscuit was equally as enjoyable. This kids enjoyed their glazed donut and the caramel was really rich as I expected and couldn't finish it. Gahhhhhh... Hubs and I were at a nearby joint for lunch when he remembered there is a District here so, with full bellies, we skipped the sliders and shared the Lemon Icebox dessert donut and coffee. But man alive, I am a very happy camper! This was the first donut that I ever eaten with the assistance of a steak knife, a habit I am beyond happy to get into. From the light not-too-sweet icing to the crisp yet tender donut and the oh-so-generous filling, this creation is heaven on a plate. So we went back here to try the cheeseburger sliders for dinner tonight. We both got the brown bag meal which comes with sliders, fries and a drink. THE SLIDERS WERE AMAZING. They were so tender and cooked medium-medium well so they were still pink in the middle. Aka cooked to perfection. The buns were also SO GOOD. The only thing I can't speak to is the sauce because we got the sliders without the sauce since we don't like any sauce on our burgers (aside from ketchup, obvs). The only part of the meal I didn't like were the French fries. They are waffle fries, but they were just too dry and hard for me. I like greasy, softer fries. With that said, my boyfriend loved the fries so it's just a matter of preference, not necessarily quality. My heart may have skipped a beat when I heard the good news that District Donuts was opening in Elmwood. It's a little slice of uptown in the burbs and I am thrilled about it; hello off street parking! The interior is probably the same square footage as the Magazine location, but because of the layout, it feels a lot bigger. Its a fast casual style restaurant where you order at the counter and wait for your name to be called. The employees are friendly and quick to clean up tables after patrons have departed. Many people talk about how great their donuts are and they are not my favorite. They look decadent and very tempting, but I'm always disappointed in the density. It a donut isn't absolutely perfect its just not worth it to me. That being said, what I really come here for is the sliders! They are on point! The cheeseburger slider is heaven on a plate. The slider sauce makes it complete. In addition to the standard slider menu they also have a daily special slider which is always something unique and it has never disappointed. The first time I ate breakfast here it was delicious, the second time around the bacon felt like razor blades to my gums and the biscuit to my sandwich was hard as a rock. Don't bother getting the brunch wings because they were dry and flavorless even with the dipping sauce on the side, I bit into the skin of the wing and it felt like I was biting into the bone. Wow! This place is awesome. Just the donut shop itself is so cute and decorated so fun. I'm so glad they opened up this location, I'm always in Elmwood and it's so awesome to have District Donuts here now. I happened to be in the area on a Friday night after seeing a movie at the theater nearby, and was surprised to see they were fairly empty. There are several other restaurants nearby, and they all appeared to be busy. I walk in, go to the counter to the left to browse the menu again to decide. One cashier sees me and walks off. The other was finishing up with another customer and looked to be walking away. I order a roast beef slider, a fish slider and the cross cut fries. And a drink. At the other locations, the cashiers give cups with ice. Not the story here. I go to find a table to sit at, and despite the fact that it was only 1/3 full, all of the tables were filthy. Just dirty. Tables not bussed, food on the floor. I wipe a table off and sit down. My name is called and I get my food. The roast beef was so salty and greasy, I just couldn't. The fish was good to start, but just not hot. Lukewarm. The fries were so salty, I wiped them off. The blueberry soda was light and refreshing. The service was ok. When I was ordered, the cashier read back my order wrong, and had to make corrections. I didn't get my cup of ice from her for my drink. I had to wait to get it. When picking up my food from the counter, the counter was dirty, with food bits littering the counter. The apathy is strong here. I was afraid to use the restroom. I will stick to the other locations. This was just not good. They could do so much better. This location will not stay open if improvements are not made. So my family and I go to the magazine location a lot. Have been going for years. Recently tried out Harrison and it's hit or miss. Decided to give this location a try since we were in the area. HUGE MISTAKE. While I applaud the staff for keeping the areas clean, they just were not properly trained on tonight. I always get the double cheeseburger with an egg. My patties are super small. The slider sauce was not on it (had to request) and after leaving, I realized I also did not have any of the amazing fresh pickles that I love. Had the wrong toppings on it. Just saddening because it's nasty without the pickles nor the right lettuce. But I'm home now so there's not much that I can do. My mother's fries were super hard and her chicken on the slider was over cooked. After her long day , she didn't have energy to complain. So her whole meal ended up getting trashed. We ordered my sister's fries and told them that we would tell them when to have them so that they would be fresh for when we were leaving since we decided to eat ours there. Our food was given in a take away bag and then her fries still came out right after our food. Which added to our frustration as we felt rush to get back so that my sister's fries would not get cold. We usually can take our time at District but tonight was a waste of the little time we spent there and a big waste of money. Won't visit any locations for a while. Happened upon this place by accident, and I'm SO glad we did. During our 36 hour stay in New Orleans, we visited District twice. On the first occasion, we were there at breakfast, and I tried the the hot chicken biscuit. Those biscuits are so damn good - probably some of the best biscuits I've ever had. On the second occasion, I opted for two chicken sliders and a pork belly slider. They do fried chicken biscuits/ sliders so well and keep the juiciness and moistness, which is all you hope for. read more

I adore district doughnuts! The sliders are some of my favorite things to purchase and at $4.50 a slider it's one of the cheaper, fresher options in the elmwood area. I went during Districts first week and noticed that they didn't have any specials yet. I did try the roast beef slider and the monte cristo on two separate occasions. Even though the cheese fries are good, after eating them two days in the row I've decided I do not really like the cheese that they out on the fries, next time I will opt for regular fries or even another slider :). One thing that this location differs from its sister locations is that it serves beer! I haven't tried the two brews they have on tap yet, but maybe my next trip (not during work hours!) I will try one of the beers. They do sell king cakes...but they are not my fav. read more

We came here with our friend for lunch last Saturday. The Cheeseburger Sliders and Waffle Fries were delicious! My boyfriend tried the Pork Belly Slider and he was unfortunately not a fan of the sauce it had on it. One of the staff members came around to check on us and we told him our issue. The bruleed raw sugar on top just sends them over the edge! Lunch is great too. The burger sliders are good, but the chicken thigh ones are my go to. Screwed up both orders. Paid for cheese waffle fries, received plain waffle fries. Burger wasn't dressed as ordered. Ordered "the Rooster" chicken sandwich, was not asked if I preferred fried or blackened. Noisy AF because the dishwashing station is out in the open. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind a lively, boisterous atmosphere, but loud-ass dishwashing doesn't appeal to me. A hamburger with grits and a chicken sandwich with fries ( plus 2 sodas) for $45 would be more palatable if prepared as ordered and the portions weren't so humble.
