Can I preface this by saying that I was overly excited to visit this establishment? I've been waiting for a few months to come here and I decided Juneteenth was an amazing date to come by. So the restaurant is a shared space, there is a separate event side that's connected and there was an event going on, on this day. So, it was busy! Which I expected, BUT I don't think management expected it to be THIS busy . I ordered Cajun pasta and 12 piece wings. To say that I was disappointed is an understatement. I was truly saddened to see the to go container that my Cajun pasta with chicken came in. Maybe shocked is a better word. I did mention this to my server and 2 managers and they accommodated me, but then I tasted my dish. It was like no salt was put in the pasta water and the small pieces of bread had the most flavor. My partner ordered the wings and you can see in the picture that they were cooked well done. There was flavor there but it was over powered by how hard and dry the wings were. I wanted to be IN LOVE with this place but maybe my expectations were too high. PLUS my receipt came back with an additional 18% because my order was a ToGo order. Which was only because they didn't have seating on the restaurant side due to the event happening. I spoke with the owner. Its a great place to have brunch , partake in happy hour or pre game before a Amway event... this is right next to Amway and we had the pleasure of visiting for a pregame prior to a Amway concert... It was also the middle of happy hour so it was really packed. The music was phenomenal, I love me some 90'S R&B & they were playing all the back to back hits. It was hard to get the attention of the bartender , but once we did the food & drinks did not disappoint. We even came back after this for a after church Sunday brunch. You can even get reward points with them when using the Amex card for payment. This place even turns into a Speakeasy ... When you push the bookshelf it opens up to the bar & lounge area next door... Beyond disappointed and frustrated with this place. Our party of 5 was seated immediately on one of the warmest days of the year so far. The AC was not cooling the place so it was hot. I ordered a draft Ultra that tasted like it was contaminated with a fruity IPA. I let it go. We ordered dinner ... a lobster roll and 3 Buffalo chicken sandwiches with pimento cheese. The food arrived - portions were small - Lille a CFA chicken biscuit size. Instead if pimento, the chicken sandwich was topped with blue cheese crumbles. When we brought this to our servers attention, she asked us if we were sure we were supposed to have pimento on our buffalo chicken sandwiches and if we were sure the menu said pimento cheese. She then went to check with the manager; she returned to the table to tell us that they are in the process of changing the menu. She then offered to let us scrape the blue cheese and she would bring us pimento. Dumbfounded, we did that. Another server stopped to see if we needed anything and pre-bussed the table. I asked if he was the manager. He told us the manger was cooking on the line but he would have the manager come to the table. Our server brought the check and I asked her to wait to charge us until we spoke to the manager. She followed up and told us the manager was too busy and wasn't coming but I could call the next day. We paid the tab only to find out that the gratuity is already included in the bill with no opportunity to adjust. WHAT?!?! When I explained to the server that she needed to explain the menu transition, she gave a bunch of excuses. Without a doubt, we had a less than pleasurable experience. Popped in here on our way to a Pride match looking to grab a drink and maybe an appetizer. We got seats at the bar which was awesome but the bartender appeared to be a little overwhelmed. The bar top was quite full as was the restaurant and he was trying to keep up. After dropping some menus, it took a bit for him to get back to us but that's ok, he was obv busy. What really sucked was it took us 10 minutes to get our drinks after we ordered because he was making shots for another party that ordered after we did, service tickets that came in after ours, etc. Would consider giving it another chance but looked like the poor guy needed some back up. read more

We came here on Sunday, November 19 in advance of the P!nk concert. We booked a reservation a few days ahead of time. When my sisters and friend and I arrived, it took 45 minutes to get seated, and another 45 minutes before our drinks arrived. The menu was different than what we the website had shown; more sparse and less options. We ordered apps, that came out luke warm without cutlery and we had to ask three times for water. Clearly they were understaffed and the employees that were working seems overwhelmed and stressed. That said, our server was gracious. So, I found this spot on a recommendation of @farrahlovely on Tik Tok as one of best African American owned spots in Orlando. So they open @4pm and there is street parking available. The bar is huge as it wraps around the restaurant, so plentiful seating. There is also booth seating and tables and chair seating. There is a wide variety of specialty drinks and they even offer a happy hour (once you ask about it ..as it is not advertised or posted as I only found out when another guest sitting next to me asked). $6 well drinks and $9 premium mixed. Terrance my waiter was very attentive and checked in with my often. I wanted the crab cake sliders but was advised that is no longer available. I ordered the lobster sliders and you can get them grilled or fried. I ordered grilled. They were very tasty and the sauce that comes on them gives just the right amount of spice. I also a side of fries, they come with some kind of coating so if you are gluten free, you should not order them. There are about 10 large tv screens so if you want to watch sports, news or movies they are playing it. The music is a good beat of R&B to keep your head bopping. Lots of people walking in from events going on in the area. If you come to Orlando, check them out they deserve a stop to! Just remember to ask about Happy hour cuz they probably won't tell you...lol..that's why the one less star. read more

We were very disappointed at arrival to find out that they didn't offer their menu posted on their website. Service was extremely slow. It was a busy night, and we are understanding people, but the people next to us sat down 45 minutes after us and got their food and drinks before our food came out! The food came out and it was cold and didn't taste very good. Drink service was very slow. I had to walk around the restaurant to look for our server to check on food and drinks. I was hoping to give this place a try even with some less than stellar reviews. It was busy with a couple games going on in the area which led to slower service but the waitress was very cordial. My husband and I ordered the chipotle chicken sandwich which was a disappointment. I probably could have had a better one for way less money at a fast food restaurant. This place was awful. Our reservation did not specify and outdoor option but they sat us outside in the cold and rain and said that was all they had. The kitchen was Way backed up and over two hours all they got out to us was hummus and chips (and not the pita chips from the menu but cheap tortilla chips). We left. Bad food, horrible management, questionable practices... If it could've been negative stars it would have been. Food was subpar and that is being kind. I ordered the cuban nachos and it was cold, beans tasted like they came from a can and the tostones were warmed up in a microwave it seems. I also ordered a side of the "chips" allegedly made in house, they were cold and stale. When I brought it to the servers attention her manager responded that they were half eaten, I had eaten two pieces and my friend tried a piece, not sure how that was half. The manager refused to just take back the chips and then sent another serving of barely warm "house made chips". They also decided to "include" a service charge which leads me to believe their failure to perform in general forces them to force people to tip for bad service. I came out of town & heard about the brunch on Sunday so we went to try it out. First of all the service we experienced was flat out horrible. The server/bottle girl went to everyone's table & just skipped over our table. It took 45 minutes for them to even give us the menu. When the food came not only was our food cold & flavorless but they also demanded that we pay before we even got our food to ensure that people don't "run out". We tried talking to the server & she immediately was rude & not of any help. Basically we took a lost on the meal. The mimosas was good but very weak I drunk 5 & still wasn't even a little bit tipsy. Avoid this place! Service is terrible, they add 20 percent and tell you that after they bring the bill. No need to do a good job because there getting 20 percent regardless. Never brought my sons drink, no refills on water, my wife asked for some dressing and croutons never brought them. Ordered food, 20 minutes later said we had to change our order. Food came out cold! Edit: Thank you Zita for your response. But I would like to clarify a few things: 1. The drinks were ordered using the hard menu that were provided at your establishment not an online menu. If it was an old item that was no longer served, I would think a server or bartender would know and immediately let us know. Instead, we waited over 30 minutes to find out that "the ingredients weren't available". 2. As for being served our drinks and food within 15 minutes of ordering is actually incorrect. It's possible the server came to our table and took our order in a reasonable amount of time. Maybe she brought a glass of soda and three glasses of water to our table within 15 minutes of ordering but definitely not our bar drink and food orders. 3. As for our time constraints, we didn't have one going into your establishment because please understand that we gave ourselves at least two hours to grab drinks and dinner at this restaurant. Which for most people, would be a reasonable amount of time. But our plans were ruined after simply ordering drinks and three appetizers. We couldn't trust that we would get our entrees on time, so we made alternate plans. Original post: Definitely was not impressed with this restaurant/bar. I really wanted to like this place, I really did. I even made reservations for the event. When I got there it was a hassle to even did the place. Some random guy walked up to my car and asked if I was parking for the District and I said yes. He told me parking was $10. I handed him a $20 and he proceeds to walk off. Right then I knew it was trouble. I ran after the guy for my money as I called the establishment and was told parking was free. I walked in the place and it was very small but inviting. I sat at my reserved table "bar seat" and not an actual table. I waited for about 20 mins before I was even acknowledged after flagging down the bartender in this small bar. There were actually 2 bartenders. A male and female. The female completely ignored me. I ordered a drink and looked at the menu for food. The food was mediocre at best but the drinks hit. After 2 drinks, wings and oysters my bill came and it was almost $100. I had to take a double take because I didn't understand why. Oh but then I looked to the bottom and a nice 20% gratuity was added to my check. SMH... for a party of 1. From price gouging and added gratuity to each check. Took 1.5 hours for tacos, our server blamed the cooks but then had to be reminded of what we ordered because she never placed it. First time here and can say that the overall experience is very satisfying. Tends to be on the pricey side but the food quality and presentation is phenomenal. The Beef rib grilled cheese was hearty and delicious. The gumbo was the best I've ever had.....I will say however that their smoked old fashioned, while done and presented properly is enormously overpriced at $20.00..... with $8.00 of this being for smoke. Most establishments add just $1.00 - $2.00 for this. We will be back..... sans the smoke next time. read more

One of the worst eating experiences of my life. We were seated around 4:45 and we ordered drinks and appetizers within a few minutes. At 5:15ish our drinks finally came. About 5:30 our appetizers came. The waitress didnt take our food order until after the appetizers were eaten and the drinks were gone. We ordered another round of drinks and our food. The drinks came about 20 minutes later. The food almost an hour later. Once the food arrived, depending on who ordered it in our group of 6, it was either missing ingredients, over cooked, not what the menu stated and the list goes on. After that we had to get the bar manager to help make it right. Turns out the server was charging us an extra $4 for making a drink without ice. WHAT?!?! I have to pay extra for not having an ingredient? Once the bar manager caught on to the issues he made everything right as best he could and as fast as he could. read more

I would love to tell you about the food. But I can't. Despite a 6pm reservation, at 6:20pm, we walked back out. The poor hostess was left to deal with all the complaints of others, just like us, who had reservations and there was no seating to be had. The place itself is quite small and pretty noisy. Other people crowded around the bar that took up half the tiny restaurant; they, too, waiting for a table. It was very obvious that there is no rhyme or reason to their seating walking vs reservations. Several around us asked to speak with a manager (I should note, this place is less than a block from the Kia Center where everyone I spoke with-was headed to a 7:30pm show. The hostess finally said there was no manager in the building and no supervisor. So who is running the place?? We won't go back not because of the food which we never tasted, but because of the clear disregard for its patrons and offered zero in house support of their staff who sadly, will get the brunt of this and seemed to be woeking as fast as they could. This isn't on them. Maybe try walking in on a random Tuesday right when they open? Idk. But a reservation may as well be a billion dollar bill. It isn't worth the paper it is printed on. read more

It is a bar so it is very noisy so conversation is hard. it took 30 minutes to get appetizers we were told they are busy and the kitchen is running late. Also the drinks took a while to be served. So we get the appetizers a margretta pizza and the meatballs they were good. We get our entrees right after getting appetizers. Our entrees were nothing great. The tacos were ok the guacamole was not good looked brown tasted like something was mixed with it. We do not like to leave food but 2 of the Cajun pasta was left we didn't even want to take it home. Here is another thing service was slow they do not have enough of servers. They charge you 20% service charge right on the check so there is the tip so you can't give less.Another thing if you make a reservation on line they require a credit card and if you do not show up they charge your card $25.00 per person for a no show just giving you a heads up. I think the place needs a good manager to review the runnings of the front and kitchen And checking the food quality for the prices that they charge.the manager needs to Walk the place and see what is happening with their business.. Reserved a table for 2 on July 18, 2022 for the evening of August 10, 2022 at 6:00 pm. Received confirmation and all was good - we thought! On the afternoon of the reservation, around 4:30 pm, we received a phone call stating they were moving us from the main dining room to the bar. We advised we had made the reservation weeks in advance (they were aware of this) and two non-drinkers were not interested in eating in the bar. The young lady who made the call stated "Honey, I just work here and cannot do anything about you eating in the main dining room. I have already asked and been told no." You all make your own decision about patronizing a restaurant wherein your reservation can arbitrarily be changed and, when requested to remain where reserved, you are denied. read more
