We really had high hopes for this place when we walked in. It is beautifully decorated and it reminds you of supper clubs way back in the day. The two jazz musicians were excellent; however, the noise level is loud. We had to speak up to be heard several times. I even exchanged seats with one guest to hear better. When he sat in my spot, he also noticed the difficulty in hearing from that direction given the volume bouncing off the walls. As such, it gave more of a lounge/club vibe feel than a fine dining experience. (Dress code is business casual and many guests were nicely dressed.) The food was quite good, except for the Buttermilk Fried Chicken which was somewhat overcooked and dry. The truffle fries were plentiful as an appetizer; the salmon was probably one of the best cooked and flavorful salmon dishes I've experienced and the Spicy Rigatoni a la Vodka was very good, with a nice spicy kick. For dessert, we shared the tiramisù (delicious) and the tasty Affogato (house vanilla gelato and espresso). The service was a lot to be desired. Although our server tried his best, we had to requested additional water several times as well as ask for refills on our cocktails. (As for the cocktails, the Lychee gin drinks were excellent the first time around, strong and served with two lychee balls on the stir stick. The follow-ups were more watered down with only one lychee ball. Consistency matters!) When the bill was provided (on a computer tablet), my husband-and-wife friends said to separate the bill for them two. The server said he could not do that. I said it was ok to split it 50/50. He misunderstood and charged me the total bill, assuming my friends would pay me half. When we said that is not what we meant, he corrected the bill with the help of the manager, and we each received separate bills. As we were leaving, our server stated we should check out the lounge and see if someone would escort us up to the penthouse. The lounge is quite interesting in its own right, dark and cozy. We asked a bartender about the penthouse. She escorted us out the back entrance and said someone would take us there. As we walked past the elevator, we saw a woman in the hallway by a hostess stand. She said she knew nothing about the penthouse as she was working for a different business. Since no one came to escort us and we were not sure where to go, we just walked back to the parking garage and went home. Overall, a nice and entertaining evening, but not sure I plan to return. This is my second visit in two weeks to Debonair and, yes,yes, yes! I recommend this restaurant. The restaurant is on the corner of Orange Ave and Church St. The establishment doesn't look like a restaurant from the outside as it is covered with fake foliage and it is so pretty. They have 2 separate entrances; one closest to the corner of Church St during lunch time and another closest to Cigar for the evening. I came during lunch time both times with coworkers. We were impressed by the classy and beautiful decor. The staff was very friendly, attentive and nice. They have several different menus available, but we were ordering from the lunch menu. Delicious food and reasonable prices. The owner has been there both times I've come in and he's was friendly and took the time to chat with us and tell us about the restaurant. He was great. We were celebrating one of my coworker's birthday and they brought a succulent free desert, big Happy Birthday sign, sparklers and they sang happy birthday. It was stupendous and fun. I came here for brunch for the 4th of July. It was not overly crowded, which is always a plus. The ambience was nice they had nice decor and tvs in the ceiling. The bathroom was also so cute with vibrant wallpaper. We needed toilet paper though . The DJ was playing all the hits. Mainly early 2000s vibes. Amazing! My friend and I wanted to take advantage of the bite 30 for this month. We reviewed the menus online and decided to pick this location because we liked the options. We made reservations for 6 o'clock on a Tuesday. I will say that the place itself had great ambience and a really cool vibe. We did also get cocktails, which were delicious. Unfortunately half of the menu items on the bite 30 menu were not available and had to be substituted. We were in there for two hours and there was no one else in there eating. Waiting for our food to be cooked was incredibly slow for being not busy. Our waiter was new and I did not have a problem with that. He was very personable, but he was not handling the plates of food properly and his fingers were touching the food. I would definitely recommend more training. Appetizers came out fairly quickly and it took almost 45 minutes for the main entrée to come out. We took dessert to go, so I can't review the dessert but I would not go back for a meal. This overall ambiance and vibe of this restaurant is fun and a little eccentric which I love. There is a lot of art to look at. The food is really good and their plating of dishes is beautiful (especially the desserts). The last time we visited, we were sat and drink orders were taken and the service started out efficient and timely. As the night wore on, it was a little more difficult to find our server to order more drinks or food unfortunately. It was a little more perplexing because it was not that busy at the time of our visit. The times I've come to this place have been when it's been more quiet like on a weekday lunch or weekday evening. I know they have other things that go on over the weekend so maybe I'll have give it one more try and see if it's just been a little off when I've eaten here. Overall fantastic choice for the evening. On a whim we made our way into the city for dinner and I gave them a call to see what they planned for the evening for entertainment and it was a live jazz band, we were excited! Arrived and we were seated with a fantastic view of the band promptly by the hostess. Our server was amazing, he was kind, attentive and always "Johnny on the spot". A notable point to me was as one of my refills for my old fashions was making its way to me, the bartender server came by with it in a decanter, she poured it and neglected a portion of that drink and was walking away with it...our server was quick to notice, and brought it back to finish my pour, that was the icing on the cake for me for detail. All of our plates were fantastic, I loved the display of the ceviche and it tasted great. The wild mushroom risotto was delicious and with the added truffle that was sliced and placed at the table side was delicious as well. My wife chose the scallop and lobster pasta which was easily consumed as well. All of the seafood was well prepared and fresh! Also notable for this, we are an alternative couple and without speaking to us, the jazz band started playing songs we knew but to a jazz tone which was just really fun to experience. We had an enjoyable time spending my birthday dinner in downtown orlando. Debonair used to be a few different restaurants if I recall.. it's been some time since I've gone downtown. The environment was cozy and had lots areas that are very instagrammable. Live music was awesome playing some R&B renditions that featured a bass, drums, and vocalist that also played the piano. Everyone was singing along and dancing in their seats. I started off with the an old fashioned that was a little too sweet for my taste, but it was still a nice drink to sip on while we waited for our food. We kicked it off with the bone marrow paired with a few toasted baguette slices. It was tasty I just wish there was more of it. That meat butter always gets me:) We got the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Tray and the Rack of Lamb for our entrees with a side of Truffle Fries and Asparagus. The fried chicken tray was tasty small pieces of chicken mash and a piece of cornbread and some hot honey in the side. Slightly dry but it was still okay. The rack of lamb was cooked medium rare to rare and I had asked for medium. I still ate it as I was extremely hungry lol. It was still tasty with the mint pistachio sauce on it. I love my salt so I do wish I had a little extra salt on my mine. But I still finished it all. I also could have asked for it so that's on me. The asparagus had a hollandaise sauce in it which is new to me. It definitely gave the asparagus some great additional flavor. The star of the meal for me was the truffle fries. I wish I could have taken them home with me to snack continue snacking on. The portion was very generous. The dinner was over $250 for the two of us. The entertainment was amazing. I have been wanting to try this spot for quite some time. Seeing all the pics online really had me interested. We went on a double date so there were 4 of us. The aesthetics are so fun and beautiful. Presentation was awesome. It was very tasty and tropical too. For our entree, we opted for the blackened red snapper, the ribeye, and the rack of lamb. We also got the bone marrow, the truffle fries, mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts, and asparagus. The truffle fries were amazing and we gobbled them up. Hot, crisp and salty with a good truffle flavor. The marrow was really good and I liked the pickled onions that came with it. My steak was a bit on the fatty side but fat is flavor. It was tender, well seasoned and cooked to the med rare I requested. The lamb was also tender and an ample portion. The blackened snapper was the star to me. Beautiful presentation, perfectly cooked and well seasoned. We all loved it. Everyone else really loved the mashed potatoes and they were delicious but they came swimming in butter which was a bit off putting to me. The brussel sprouts were good but a tad tough. Had a fabulous private event at this super club. As soon as I walked in I was impressed with the beautiful decor. Gorgeous! Vibe is upscale and classy. We were attending a wine pairing event with the wine group I'm in and it was excellent. We tasted delicious wines paired with fabulous dishes such as lobster rolls, steak and a delicious cheese pasty that I had never experienced before. After going to see the Lion King in the evening, the supper club was perfect for our 18th Anniversary late night dinner. We booked for 1130pm, but arrived about 11pm and for a Saturday night, there was plenty of seating. In one room, there was a graduation celebration and on the left side when we walked in was the DJ and the lounge area with people enjoying the music. First of all, the DJ was fire!! A great mix of music. I love the ambiance of the restaurant itself. It's modern and antique at the same time. The bathrooms are unisex and are all designed differently. The food was delicious and plentiful. For entrees, we ordered the bone-in veal Parmesan and Hubs had the Rack of lamb. We asked for a special order of French fries with truffle (not on the menu) and they obliged us. The fries went well with both our meals. Our cocktails were equally good. I had the Honey Diablos and Hubs the Old Fashioned. The music and the supper were a great combo. Our server was pleasant, friendly and gave us great service. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 ***** is because the music is way to loud in the dining area. I'm not sure if this is all the time, but you cannot have a conversation or even hear the waiter speaking to you. For the majority of our dinner, there was an exceptionally talented pianist performing contemporary music; it was a most soothing and impressive performance to witness. Been seeing posts about this place and happened to be downtown for a show so we were able to try it. Luckily they are running their Bite30 so we took advantage of that. Our server was fantastic- very personable and full of information regarding the restaurant and the food. First of all, the restaurant is beautiful, very different than any place really. We were told the vibe is different depending on when you go- brunch, dinner, late night. We were there around 4-5pm so we had the place almost to ourselves and it was kind of nice. Drinks: we both had the lychee martini which was so good and very strong. My partner then tried the burrata Collins but was very disappointed in it- it was basically a margarita- based on the description he thought it would be something creamier. For appetizers we tried the fried green tomatoes from the regular menu and the Boursin tarts and watermelon tataki from the bite30 menu. All were very good. The tomatoes were delicious. The tarts needed to be eaten as a whole bite to get all the flavors in one. The tataki was interesting and refreshing. Of the three, I'd probably order the fried green tomatoes again. For meals I ordered the braised beef and my partner ordered the salmon. The beef had a ton of flavor but the mashed potatoes were lacking. I wish they were served with some other side honestly, even the risotto that came with the salmon would have been wonderful- I kept stealing bites because it was so, so good! I also would have liked something crunchy, so maybe a crunchy potato or veggie instead. The salmon my partner said was very good. For dessert we both went with the aged sherry float which was unique and so good. The sherry was delicious and the almonds just made it. Perfect sweet and salty ending. Debonair is on the newer side to the Downtown Orlando area. They've been open for a few months now, they are a lounge/bar. I went on Sunday directly after their brunch ended, went in just for some drinks and to see what the hype was about. The ambiance was interesting, it's certainly one of a more party atmosphere. It's fairly vibrant and they have unique pieces, such as artwork or sculptures hanging from the ceiling. I can see what type of vibe they were going for maybe leaning toward something you might find in Tulum but in my opinion they missed the mark a bit. I didn't order any food just had some very basic drinks. The service was okay, the person who greeted us was helpful however we sat at a couch for some time and no one came over to take our order. We then decided to make our way to the bar to get some immediate service. The bartender seemed like he was new to making drinks, he actually messed up at first and had to start over. I'll also point out these were just tequila shots so as rudimentary as it comes. They are very much over priced, somehow four tequila shots turned out to be over 80$ with tip. The bottom line, in my opinion they are overhyped. I don't think I would go back there again. The ambiance doesn't quite fit the bill and the service and decent at best all while the drinks being on the pricey side. read more

My friend celebrated her birthday here with a private multi course dinner. They opened just after Christmas and as soon as they posted they were taking dinner reservations for events, she jumped on it. This restaurant is located by the plaza theater downstairs directly across from the cigar bar. There is a giant wooden forest woman out front so you really can't miss the place. Upon entering I was greeted by all the staff in a very friendly manner and escorted to the bar by the hostess. After greeting friends I ordered a drink and got a recommendation from the bartender for a Japanese whiskey with Yuzu. It went so nicely with the gimlet, which was priced at $18. The venue is brand new with over the top decor and lighting. It's a club, a restaurant, a photo op, and one of a kind. They escorted us to the dining room where there were 2 and 4 tops made of custom cut stone and a view of the kitchen. Shortly after we sat, we received the corn brûlée which was nice. Next was a fried truffle Mac n cheese ball that was also good. My friends weren't into the truffles, so I took both of theirs home and enjoyed it for lunch the next day! The owner kept coming over to shower the birthday girl with extra love! He offered her shots of vodka, caviar "bumps", fresh shaved truffle, and the entire staff came out to celebrate. The ironic part was that my friend doesn't do fish, shots, or truffle - but it was definitely the thought that counts! The most jaw dropping moment of the evening was when he walked her to the bathroom hallway and revealed digital portraits of her and her family dressed as royalty! The hallway also has infinity mirrors, LED star ceilings, and a mirror bathroom sliding door that opens at the push of a button. Truly a lot of love and thought was put into the entire venue and experience! It did take a long time for my table, which was with the birthday girl, to be served our entree. Like everyone else had theirs first long. This happened to me on my wedding, and I would say it was not ideal. It would've been better for her to be served first, so then she could walk around and chat with her guests while they finished their food. We all did enjoy the filet and it was cooked to all of our tastes - mine being rare and the birthday girl well done! The sides were nice and the sauce was great. They even fried up some onions for the birthday girl since she didn't like any of the other extras they offered her! The chef came out to say hello and when they served dessert, he brûléed her sweet potato creme brûlée table-side for her! The dessert was probably the most disappointing part of the meal. Instead of a Japanese sweet potato, it was a regular orange sweet potato and we noticed right away. The creme was vegan made of coconut rice and didn't satisfy. It was cold and the best part was the fruit. The chocolate cake didn't seem to get much more praise. I would rethink dessert here. The whole meal was $65 before tip and tax. Most coursed meals in Orlando are $100+ so I think this was a good price point. Expensive cocktails were to be expected. What really solidified the 4 out of 5 stars for me was the automatic 20% service fee added to the bill. It would be one thing to include that at dinner with such a large party (we must've had 40+ people), but it happened to me when I ordered a drink at the bar after dinner. The cocktail was delicious, but because I tipped on top of the unnoticed and unannounced service fee, the total was $28.17. That's way too much for one cocktail! We actually had a lot of fun afterwards staying to dance and drink, with a live DJ and a club vibe at the bar, but I don't think I would come just for drinks at that price point. We did end up staying there the rest of the night, some guests ordering hookah, and didn't feel the need to go anywhere else.
