We made dinner reservations here for Thanksgiving Day. We waited at the bar area for about 10 minutes while we wait for our table to be ready. Once we were seated, our server and the rest of the staff were pleasant and efficient. The a la carte menu is still available to customers but we chose to have the Thanksgiving dinner package. This includes: BUTTERNUT OR MINESTRONE soup, SALAD, a platter of TURKEY BREAST, MASHED POTATO, SWEET POTATO YAM, STUFFING, VEGETABLES, and CRANBERRY SAUCE. There are 3 choices for dessert, we picked PECAN PIE and FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE. Everything was delicious and even though the place was super busy that evening, all the dishes were served warm and there was no long wait. Our cocktails were also prepared well. The place is clean, the service is great, and the food is satisfying. Parking can be challenging on a busy night but they also have valet available. I will come back to try the dishes from their regular menu, I'm sure they're also good. This is a great choice to have a holiday meal, without spending many hours in the kitchen :) 'Til next time!

Went recently and the service and food were back to expectations. The ribeye was amazing and my family loved the seafood tower. My son got some sort of lobster risotto and he said it was amazing. The only issue is it seems when I go my first steak comes out medium vs medium rare. But they fired up a second one and it was great.

Went for dinner and the service was great. We shared the bread starter which you have to order as an appetizer off the menu. That usually rubs me the wrong way, but the bread was amazing and served with a small side of marinated olives. I had the fish & chips - it came with 5 filets! The waffle fries were good but the fish was even better & you could tell they definitely weren't frozen. For dessert, the buuyer pecan ice cream which was served with a Carmel sauce drizzle and extra pecans. Wow! Molto bello!!

Great atmosphere. Service was superb. Both waiters made sure we were well taken care of. Had the twin filet and crab cake. Didn't need a knife to cut the steaks. They cut easy with a fork and melted in my mouth as I ate it

We love visiting Ditka's for family meals during the big holidays, including Thanksgiving and birthdays! We are a steak family through and through and we are never disappointed. We typically order sides for the table to share and it works out well. We do 3-4 sides for six people! It's a large space but it can get a little noisy. As it is Ditka's, the decor is sport themed, but I work in sport business and my siblings are all athletes so we love it as a family! It's a little dark so you may need to bust out the iPhone light. I will say that it is a little pricier for the value and portion sizes. Parking is also a little confusing but doable.

This visit was my second visit to Ditka's. My first visit was for my engagement party. We had a party of 20. We got a private room. They treated us like kings and queens. The bartender poured both of my father's drinks so heavy that they warmed up to each other immediately! LOL! This second visit was to celebrate Valentine's Day with my forever Valentine. The first table they gave us was too busy, so we asked for a booth. Without hesitation, they accommodated our request. The ambiance is spot on. The food is as good (and expensive) as you'd expect. But I keep coming back because the service is stellar!

Me and my husband were visiting Chicago to see a football game from California. This was a must stop for us as we are huge Chicago Bears fans. We had made reservations well in advance. When we arrived, the hostess told us there would be a short wait, but she told the same thing to the person ahead of us who did not have any reservations. I'm used to being sat right away when I make a reservation. The atmosphere was giving me a nicer Denny's with some football pictures. It was a bit underwhelming. I was hoping they'd have some memorabilia. We decided to start with the stuffed peppers and I would say those were the highlight of our meal. My husband went for the waffles, which were giving me ego vibes. He was underwhelmed by them also. I went for the Mike's salad and I added fillet. The salad was $14 but the fillet was an additional $17. I'll post a picture of the salad. I definitely wouldn't go back to this restaurant but I guess if you're a huge Chicago bears fan you should go but don't have high expectations. We did enjoy our server who was very friendly and we appreciated his recommendations.

As we ordered drinks, he asked only my daughter (33 years old) and my niece (39 years old) for identification. My niece explained that she had her ID available digitally on her phone. Casper said he needed a physical ID but would check with a manager to see if the digital version could be accepted. After speaking with management, he returned and informed us that a digital ID would not be accepted. He explained that the restaurant's policy required physical IDs from anyone who appeared to be 30 years old or younger. When we expressed our frustration and said we would not be dining there because of this policy, he showed no concern and offered no apology. We were curious about a random age requirement if the server thought you "looked" 30 or younger although the legal drinking age in Illinois is 21. Before leaving, we asked to speak with a manager. Ryan, the manager, met us at the door, and we explained that we were disappointed that our niece could not order a drink despite having a valid digital ID. Rather than addressing our concern, he compared the situation to him being carded at liquor stores. We pointed out that this was a restaurant, not a liquor store, and that the policy appeared to be applied selectively based exclusively on the server's judgment. Ryan offered no apology and referred us to the General Manager. When Christa, the General Manager, joined us, we asked why the restaurant used a 30-year-old threshold when the legal drinking age in Illinois is 21. She initially stated that the policy was to request IDs from all guests ordering alcohol. I explained that only my daughter and niece had been asked for IDs. She then revised her explanation, saying that servers request IDs from anyone who appears younger than 30, making the policy exclusively dependent on the server's judgment. We also pointed out that we observed a nearby table of younger-looking guests had been served alcoholic beverages, but their server did not ask for their IDs. Christa questioned our observation. What was most disappointing was that neither Ryan nor Christa apologized for the inconvenience or acknowledged our concerns. As first-time guests, we left feeling frustrated and unwelcome. Unfortunately, this experience has ensured that we will not be dining at Perry's in Oakbrook again and has left a bad impression of Perry's management team, in general. If I could rate them a "no stars," I would.

Shopping mall chic?…read more If you've spent any time near a mall in the suburbs, there are a few staples you'll inevitably come across, one of them being Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse at 2105 S. Spring Rd. Gibsons has long been known as a go-to for a slightly upscale steakhouse experience in the suburbs. I hadn't been in years, but we were in the area and decided to go somewhere a bit nicer for dinner to celebrate my birthday, so we gave Gibsons another try. One highlight was the complimentary valet service, it was quick, easy, and very efficient. The restaurant was busy with lots of families and celebrations. The interior has a classic, almost mob-era steakhouse vibe, reminiscent of old-school 1930s-40s Italian-American dining rooms. Service was friendly and accommodating throughout the night. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and for my entrée I had a ribeye with a side of potatoes and broccoli. My friend ordered a filet mignon salad. We also shared a side salad. The food was solid overall, but the salads were a bit watery, and the ranch dressing was just okay. The steak was good, but not quite the standout I expected given the price point, ribs are close to $70, so expectations are understandably high. Everything felt consistent, but not particularly memorable. That said, Gibsons does feel very steady and familiar, which may be part of its appeal. It's the kind of place people return to because they know exactly what they're going to get. Even the bread was fine, but nothing really stood out as exceptional. One of the more memorable (and amusing) parts of the experience was the birthday tradition. I still can't fully make out what they're saying during the birthday song, it's loud, a bit barked, and honestly both funny and slightly intimidating. I can't decide if I love it or would be terrified by it as a kid. There was also an interesting moment with dessert, my ice cream was placed in a plastic bag inside a box of ice. Creative, but not exactly elegant. I definitely didn't eat it, but it was memorable in its own way. Overall, if you're looking for a consistent, classic steakhouse experience that leans more familiar than elevated, Gibsons fits that role. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

The low lighting creates a more intimate vibe, making it a great place for a date night, dinner with friends, or even a relaxed evening meal. Unfortunately, this visit was completely different and incredibly disappointing. From the moment we were seated, the service was slow and disorganized. It took an unreasonable amount of time just to receive the basic table items, especially the Brazilian cheese bread. We had already been eating for over 25 minutes and were nearly finished with our meal before the bread finally arrived. When we asked about it, the response was simply, "We're still baking them." That's not the level of service I expect from a Brazilian steakhouse. To make matters worse, the mashed potatoes and fried plantains were served cold. I also had to flag down our server to ask what had happened to our drinks. When she finally brought them, she commented that the drinks had already been made but "they just didn't know where to take them." That explanation wasn't reassuring, and being handed a soaking wet straw only added to the poor experience. Throughout the meal, our server rarely checked on our table. No one came by to offer drink refills, and I eventually had to get up and find a manager myself just to get another beverage. The meat selection was also far below what I expect from Fogo de Chão. Instead of the variety of premium cuts they're known for, we were repeatedly offered pork, chicken, and overcooked picanha. The premium cuts were either very limited or never made it to our table, making the experience feel nothing like the quality I've enjoyed during previous visits. I spoke with the manager about our experience, and to his credit, he sincerely apologized and immediately alerted the team. A young lady, who I believe was a supervisor, also came over to apologize and even offered my friend a complimentary dessert. I appreciate their efforts to recover the situation, but by that point, the overall experience had already been ruined. It's disappointing to see how much this location has declined. I've always considered Fogo de Chão one of the better Brazilian steakhouses, but based on this visit, the service, food quality, and overall dining experience have gone downhill significantly. I hope management takes these issues seriously because this experience was nowhere near the standard the restaurant is known for.

Having recently experienced a subpar upscale chain restaurant steak dinner at another restaurant, I was gun shy to order a steak, but was rewarded with one of the most tender and tasty cuts of beef in the Chicago suburbs. The literal topper was the red wine reduction...so good! My companion ordered (and shared!) the grilled scallops. A generous serving of tender, succulent scallops on a bed of delicious risotto. The combo made a great surf and turf experience. Desserts at these types of restaurants can be so overwhelming that even the thought of sharing seems like too much. But here, we had perfectly sized portions and a wonderful selection of treats to cap a great meal. We each ordered a different treat and it was the perfect amount. We are looking forward to bringing friends and family to return visits. Soon.

Hubby and I went to dinner at Seasons 52 on Saturday, which we haven't been to in a long time. I…read moreforgot how much I enjoy this restaurant. We sat in the bar and had a great server named Shawn. Shawn was engaging and provided great service. I'll definitely request him next time I visit. I wasn't drinking that night, but hubby solo'd it with a bourbon cocktail called a Paper Plane. He said it was very tasty, especially on the hot day. We shared the ahi tuna tartare to start. The tartare was a stack of tuna with tropical salsa and avocado. So fresh. It came with a basket of crispy lavish bread, I hope when the restaurant switches their recipe that they will continue making a seedless lavish for those who can't do nuts or seeds. Hubby had the wood grilled tenderloin salad for dinner. I had to get a taste of that tenderloin because it was cooked perfectly. It was so tasty and seasoned well. I had the wood grilled Idaho rainbow trout, swapping out the asparagus for carrots. The trout came with a dill mustard sauce which I nixed and just squeezed fresh lemon on the fish. The fish was moist and smoky. Of course, we had to get the little dessert shooters to end the meal. Hubby had the Belgian chocolate s'mores, which was ridiculously decadent. I had the more conservative raspberry cannoli dessert. These tiny sweet treats are delicious mini indulgences. I love them because you want something a little sweet at the end of a meal but don't want a huge dessert. I think they're perfect. I like Seasons 52 because every item on the menu has the calories listed. Their food is always very good and the service is top-notch. When I ordered the tuna appetizer, a manager came over right away and asked me about a seed allergy because they noticed I said no nuts and seeds on my reservation. They really pay attention to their customers needs. I highly recommend Seasons 52. Ask for Shawn!

Street parking may be hard to get but public parking lot nearby. Food was excellent, I had the foxtail paella, plump shrimp, mussels, sausage veggies and orzo instead of rice made it feel creamier, full portions. The "big wood" was a tasty whiskey drink, but the Negroni was a little too bitter. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about all the menu items and made good recommendations, fast attentive and good service.

Another great dinner at Foxtail!…read more We had to come back to try more of the menu, and this time we ordered: * Pork belly bruschetta: 5/10. Unfortunately, this one wasn't for me. The pork belly, ciabatta, and balsamic were all good individually, but together the flavors just didn't work. It felt mismatched... * Colorado lamb kebab: 10/10. This is one of the more $$ entrées on the menu, but it's absolutely worth it. The portion was generous, the lamb was high quality, and the artichoke pesto paired really well with the rich, gamey flavor. The roasted pearl onions were a great addition too. I would definitely recommend this dish. * Foxtail paella: 8/10 flavorful orzo paella loaded with seafood. Definitely a sharing type of entree! Always a great time at Foxtail with great food and great service!
