I had fettuccine alfredo made table side in a 50 pound wheel of the freshest Parmigiani Reggiano cheese with shrimp. My wife had a ribeye that was so tender she didn't even need a steak knife. This is one of my favorite restaurants so we made an 8:30pm reservation knowing it would be busy. Arrived early, checked in and went to the bar. It was busy but with four people pouring drinks you'd think you could flag someone down. I wouldn't mind if it was just slammed but if you have time to bullshit with your friends at the bar- check out your patrons once awhile too. Then they forgot to seat us, were surprised we were "still" there. If I owned the place I'd be pissed- they could've turned twice as many tables. Mismanaged. The multiple servers - bringing drinks, food, apps, etc is dizzying but at the end of the food is awesome. Desserts need work - def will skip it next time. The wheel is amazing; Madeira is a favorite. The food never disappoints. This restaurant has been my go to place, I even recommend it to people. My lunch today fish special, brazzino was excellent, but one of the things we like always is the Cobb salad. I love this restaurant! It's beautiful inside and the food is delicious. I've never had a bad meal there. BUT.... this is the 3rd time I have been there and the service has been so slow. And last night they were only operating at 25% capacity so it wasn't like they were packed and the kitchen was overwhelmed. It took 20 minutes to get my salad and another 25 minutes after my salad to get our entrees which were not complicated. I had the gnocchi dish and my husband had their signature pasta dish which is put together at the table. We expressed our dissatisfaction to the manager but it just made us feel better. We'll be crossing this one off our list of favorites. read more

We came for a large family gathering of 19. We were seated quickly and table service was spot on even for such a large group. All the meals came out on time, hot, and well presented. Divieto is easily becoming my new favorite restaurant. Food is absolutely delicious. Try the fried calamari appetizer - I guarantee you'll be craving it afterwards. From our visits we've tried the pastas, chicken parm, lasagna and my go to favorite the grouper scampi. All dishes were perfect prepared, piping hot, and full of flavor. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is inconsistent service. Brianna is fabulous. Unfortunately Simone left a really bad taste in our mouths last time and we haven't yet gone back because of her. Amanda was our server, she was every knowledgeable, fun, professional, kind, and all around amazing at her job. My husband is a manager and offered her a job but she seems to really enjoy where she is. I can't wait to go back and have her as our server again. We came in this time to celebrate my friend's birthday and we order so much food we couldn't stop! The food was absolutely amazing we had calamari to start, our mains were the lasagna and 3 orders of the RUOTA DI PARMIGIANO which is described as: an ultimate table side experience! Creamy fettuccine Alfredo tossed in a Parmigiano-Reggiano wheel! We boxed up more than half of our main entree so that we could try the desserts and I was not disappointed! We ordered 2 cappuccinos and an espresso. We ended up ordering 4 desserts! We had the CRÈME BRÛLÉE, the TOXEDO BOMBE which is described as a Savory chocolate cake filled with vanilla and chocolate mousse. Covered with chocolate ganache. My husband had to have his favorite dessert TIRAMISU, but by far ALL of our favorites was the CARAMELLO AL LATTE which is designed as a moist sponge cake soaked with three different types of milk, covered with "dulce de leche" and candied walnuts. Probably the best Italian place in the area!! The mascarpone has shrimp and chicken and is probably my favorite pasta dish as a main. Their ruota di parmigiano is also absolutely delicious; great pasta dish to share. JP is the best, always makes me feel welcomed and makes sure everything is running smoothly. Best servers are Isdel and Paul, so feel free to ask for them! They'll give you the best recommendations and be very attentive. We had a fantastic experience tonight at DivIeto. We were in town last year and ate at this restaurant and it was a very good experience... But tonight was amazing! Our waiter was very friendly & genuine. We started with a couple of glasses of Cabernet & split a salad that was huge! It had pear, candied walnuts, carrots and a delicious citrus vinaigrette! For my entrée I had a chicken Parmesan that came with a side of linguine... and it may have been the best but I've had anywhere! As promised, we came back. Despite the challenges posed by Covid, we had another memorable meal. Our server checked with the kitchen for my best non-dairy options, & patient husband had the ruota di parmigiano again, this time with chicken. I had the frutti del mare, and we got the burrata as our free appetizer--I still had the card in my wallet! Even the bread with flavored olive oil was the perfect temperature. Service was attentive and knowledgeable as before. My pasta was absolutely delicious, & the seafood done perfectly. The sauce was mellow & flavor-filled. Makes me wish we lived closer, although we do have a favorite Italian restaurant called Visconti's in Wenatchee, if you happen to be nearby. Awesome. read more

Friday night, 8 pm * Hostess - looks perplexed, tapping pencil on lip, avoiding eye contact at all cost, 5 or 6 empty tables that I can see. One single person waiting before us. They finally seat us after quite a long awkward, no one wanting to "make eye contact with the customers" wait. * Seating, at last - Directly across from the server's drink station, literally staring at soda and coffee machine. Felt way more like a diner than a fine dining restaurant. * Server - did not see one for 10 + minutes, my husband had to leave our table to flag one down just to order waters and a bottle of wine. After doing so, we didn't see her for at LEAST 10 + more minutes, STILL no wine. * She confusedly walks by (no wine or water) & I stop her & ask her for the ingredients in the "capellini mushroom gravy" and she says one word, "mushrooms". I asked "cream?" and she said "yes cream, LOTS of cream", and walks away for our wine we are hoping. Not sure if I believe her for some reason? * Waiting and STILL no bottle of wine, we leave our "coffee station table" & head for the bar. Husband tells the waitress, not that she even remembered us sitting there I suppose... * 2 bartenders at the bar, both totally avoid eye contact, finally flag one down & have cocktails in hand AT LAST. (What is the whole "avoidance issue" with the employees at this place?) * Again, not confident with waitress's answer, I ask "does the mushroom gravy have cream, or does the clam sauce?" The bartender says "mushroom gravy, no, clam sauce, yes but......" turns around mid-sentence, walks away to chat with the other bartender. * STILL, not confident as I now have totally conflicting answers, I approach the manager "Guillermo". Okay, he says NO cream in capellini with mushroom gravy OR the clam sauce, I tell him his staff needs better training. He tells me "Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on your food", whatever that means. At this point who cares, I am starving. * We are ready to order, so once again have to flag down a bartender to tell her we would like "to order". She says "water?". We say no, "order". She says "water?" We say "NO, ORDER". (Yep, just like "who's on first"...) * I order the Capellini with Mushroom Gravy (it does NOT have cream, in case you want to know) and my husband gets the Chicken Parm. Guess what? DELICIOUS! Yes, DELICIOUS. * Summation, LOVE the people behind the scenes, the chef/s, the cooks, the creators of the (at least the 2 we tried) menu items. HATE, completely HATE the level of service, or lack thereof. How many restaurants have we seen open and close? Many. Will this be one of them? Maybe. Too bad if so, as the food is good, and we all do love good food. We just want to be able to "order" it. read more

Excellent restaurant all around. I was visiting the area and looked for a good option for Italian food. This spot did not disappoint. My father in law ordered the veal parmigiana and he said it was excellent. I ordered the signature dish which is the pasta Alfredo tossed inside a parmesan/Romano cheese wheel; it was AWESOME!!! I can't remember the last time I ordered pasta Alfredo, but I'm glad I did. The food was great and well priced. The service was excellent as well; we had at least three different servers ask if we were ok as they busily walked by our table. We didn't order any cocktails, but I saw a few being served to the tables around us and it looks like they offer some really creative options. I will definitely eat here again when I'm in the area. read more

I experience difficulty in getting someone to answer the phone when I call to make a reservation. Once I actually made a reservation but it did not exist when I arrived at the restaurant. That being said, (don't you just hate it when people say that?) if you actually get a reservation you will find that the food is quite good and the service is more than adequate. The Fettuccine Alfredo, which is made table side in a hollowed our wheel of parmigiana, is the absolute best! Really folks, get passed the telephone issue and enjoy your meal at Divieto's. I did. Update: They fixed the phone system and making reservations is now easy! We recently took two other couples and they loved it. You will too! read more

I've been to Divieto on several occasions, and each time, I leave just a little disappointed and wanting to have liked it better. I loved the restaurant that was in this spot before, BiCE, which apparently had the same owners, for their awesome bar area, service, and happy hour. Divieto is lacking in all 3 of these. The bar area is too small and if you end up sitting at a high-top in the bar, you can expect less than stellar service. The happy hour ends at 6 (even though it goes till 8 at their Miami location) and the happy hour food menu is very limited with only 4-5 options. As a young adult who works locally in the area, it is a pet peeve of mine when restaurants have a happy hour that caters to the non-working class (I know this is SWFL, but some people work past 5). On my first visit, I asked for a drink menu and was told they hadn't developed one yet. On my last visit, I asked for a drink menu and was told such a thing did not exist; they only had a wine list. They have a full bar, but no "featured" cocktails. On one visit, I ordered a Gin Gimlet and watched the bartender Google how to make this. This last time, I simply ordered a glass of wine while my date ordered a Woodford Old Fashioned. After we got the check, we saw the Old Fashioned was $16; it was not worth the price and probably wouldn't have been ordered had they had a cocktail menu with at least some drink prices for reference. With all that said, I do like the atmosphere and I've enjoyed all the food I've ordered (other than the extremely small portions received when ordering off the Happy Hour menu). Both the Burrata and the Bruschetta appetizers were very enjoyable. The Gnocchi was great and a very large portion. The Pecan-Crusted Red Snapper is one of my favorites so far. They seem to have a nice wine selection and I would probably stick with ordering wine to next time I go back. read more

My family and I went to your restaurant in Estero to have dinner. When we walked in they escorted us to a room that had a red curtain and like 6 tables. They took us to our table and closed the curtain right behind us Mind you, they had a huge open dining room with open tables but I didn't think anything of it We walk in and there's another Hispanic family with a couple kids sitting at a table. Around 10 minutes later they bring a Hispanic couple comes and then like 5 minutes later, another Hispanic family with 2 little girls. I still didn't even think anything of it as we were enjoying our drinks and appetizers. Suddenly these four older Caucasian people come in, and you can immediately see they weren't happy. They sit down and immediately ask that they be moved to the main dining room which the waiter immediately complied. A few minutes later they bring in another Hispanic family comes in. About 15 min later, they bring in a young white couple. They walk to their table but don't even sit and asked to be moved. At that point I knew exactly what was happening so we all look at each other and start laughing in disbelief. When we were done we went to the washroom and had to cross the main dining area, and noticed not ONE Hispanic was seated there. My husband and I just said that was so obvious! Food was delicious and waiter was amazing but I don't think i would go back. Si no estoy equivocada, el COO es Latino. Que desgracia! ​ read more
