When in SWFL this is one of my favorites. Located in the beautiful Coconut Point. Once again tonight I had a fantastic meal. I managed to get a table for two at 5:30 on a Saturday night without a reservation. I really suggest a reservation on a weekend. No doubt it's pricey but the food and service was perfect. The Chicken Madeira is my favorite. Modestly priced but we had cocktails, a bottle of wine, and normally pass on dessert but tonight we had a little of everything. More than usual including dessert. So it was expensive but I just spent several days of driving from upstate NY and spent 6 days of eating franchise food and wanted a quality meal. read more

Again, It is very rare that I give 5 stars to any place but Divieto has earned it again. From the moment you walk into the doors, they make you feel welcome. The service is about as good as it gets and the attention to detail is outstanding. I am a very "picky" reviewer and I can find no faults here. The food is outstanding, simply outstanding. I absolutely love this restaurant. The food is amazing, the service is impeccable. However,I did have one encounter with a hostess that left a nasty taste in my mouth, which is the only thing stopping me from 5 stars. I walked in after a full day of shopping at the mall and the first thing she said when we walked in was "Oh, just so you know we don't have a happy hour here"; after looking me and my friend up and down. This I found incredibly insulting. Yes, I was in casual wear but I did not appreciate the comment. I felt awkward the entire time I was sitting because of what I was wearing. It made me feel as if I didn't belong. Other than that the experience was top notch. Bar and servers were great. read more

Second visit for me. The food was again exceptional... But the service was again just so so. I sat at the bar had a glass of wine and and a wonderful pasta dish. Disappointing! We ordered 4 different items and every single one was bland. Wild mushroom GF version pasta was overcooked, unforgivable for an italian restaurant. Fiocci di Pera - tortellini like pasta stuffed with a too sweet of a pear and cheese mixture, topped with staled walnuts. We have eaten at this restaurant several times and in fact I chose it for my birthday dinner. The food is wonderful (especially the lasagna Bolognese) We took my brother, sister-in-law and nephew and they also enjoyed their meals. Let me start by saying the food is 3.1 stars. Pear salad was delish, spaghetti & meatballs were good and the carbonara pasta was decent (i'm from New England- I don't really like mini shrimp in my pasta dish.) The 2 stars stem from the hot mess express at the hostess stand- think the gal in charge of the ipad had a bum watch ( 5 min wait was 30 ) and every time they needed to seat the next party there was a board meeting about how to execute. We were seated outside- ok table but the warming towers were broken next to us and they had a bus boy fooling around with LP tanks through our entire meal. Waiter was distracted and was not very engaging what so ever. Could have cared less that we had a filthy wine glass and never really checked in at the right times during the meal. Won't be rushing back anytime soon. read more

We found this restaurant on Yelp and the reviews were on point! From the service to the delicious food! Our waitress was very good, attentive and welcoming. Each table starts off with warm bread along with olive oil and spices. It was yummy. We ordered some salads to start. The presentation on all were nicely done. Each one was delicious. For our meals we got a variety of things off the menu, each of them came out hot, flavorful, and tasted amazing! The manager made his rounds throughout our dining experience to check-in on tables. Usually great service and better than good food - love the atmosphere and the vibe. Only real complaint, don't seat people in the outdoor table in front of the valet doors when the valet is about to open. Had to literally GET UP and move the table and was bumped into numerous times. read more

Great vibe to this place, a throwback to the Great Gatsby era and speak-easys. I had red sangria (a bit strong, but good), a Caesar side salad and alfredo fettuccini. The salad was just enough to nibble on without getting stuffed before my dinner arrived. Fresh bread and dipping oil make a yummy treat while enjoying conversation with friends. The alfredo fettuccini was a good-sized portion (not ridiculously huge). The service was on par. On the Saturday night of my visit, an amazing singer strolled through the restaurant performing wonderful songs with his strong voice. I don't know if he is there regularly, but he made a wonderful touch to a unique restaurant. The whole place was a job well-done: From the decor, to the food, to the vocalist. Go hungry because this creamy fettuccine alfredo tossed in a Parmigiano-Reggiano wheel definitely gives it a wonderfully rich flavor! It's incredible what a year will do to a review. My first review of Divieto was in early July 2018 and we had great service, however our recent visit on 6/29/2019 proved to be the complete opposite. We sat at the bar and the first bartender was somewhat engaging, however we ended up with Alex as our bartender for the meal and, well, he said five words to us the entire time we were there, "are you ready to order"? From that point, he never acknowledged us, asked us for additional drinks, how was the food, nothing. In fact, after his fourth time of walking past us at the bar I finally called out to him for the check, which was the most prompt he'd been during our entire meal. He was quick to get that printed out, put in the book and handed to me, of course without saying one word, and in return I was prompt to finish my transaction with the appropriate tip. As we exited, I spoke directly with a manager, which I'm glad I did because he corrected me when I inquired about the tall bartender's name, as the ticket was still in the original bartender's name. I even told him I was asking for the name so I could include it on my Yelp review...but no response. It's really too bad because the food is very good here, but it seemed that Alex would be better suited for the service bar, not a bar where he had to provide actual service to the customer in front of him. read more

We stumbled across Divietos when we went out to dinner with no place in mind. When we drove by, I thought it looked too nice for the plan of the evening but my wife insisted we check the menu. Once again, she was right... From the moment we walked in, it was nothing but perfect. Greeting was warm and friendly. We were seated quickly at 7 o'clock on a Saturday night. Jonathan, the waiter is about as good as they get. While very busy. He was extremely attentive and there when we needed him. Not once was there a time that I was turning around trying to catch somebody's attention. The food was really remarkable. Too many times we go into a restaurant and when we're leaving I say to my wife that I could've cooked it as well or better. Not this time. Through the course of the meal, periodically, members of the management popped by just checking to make sure that nothing else was needed and that everything was satisfactory. It's nice to see an organization that seems to want to excel at everything they do. Just wish there was one closer to our home. You can be sure, though that every time we're in Bonita Springs we will be making a visit! read more

I walked into Divieto and I just knew it was going to be awesome, and it was! The decor is inviting and the restaurant has a nice ambiance. The staff was quick to welcome us in and bring us to our table even though it was a busy evening there. Our waiter answered our questions regarding the wines and the menu items. I selected the Chicken Piccata and I am very glad that I did. It was a big portion and the taste was right up there with the best I ever had. The side veggies were fresh as can be and tasted great, as did the pasta. Not a doubt that I will be back, hopefully very soon! read more
