I usually get my cakes from a friend that owns her own business out of her house and they are excellent and beautiful but also very expensive. And I usually have to drive about 15-20 minutes away to go get it and usually pay cash and wait a couple days for it. I wanted something fast that I could pay with credit card that was not as expensive so I decided to stop by this place. They had a couple small round cakes for under thirty bucks so I purchased one and it was absolutely amazing! I'm not sure the exact size but it was about the same size in diameter is a basketball. This place is very affordable and has excellent flavor. I even purchased an individual cake for myself it was a strawberry champagne cake for under $4 and had half of it for breakfast haha. I had such a terrible experience at divine desserts! It was my first time visiting and the lady who helped me was quite rude for no apparent reason, I was very nice to her. She had a problem with me deciding which desserts I would like, I didn't take very long either. She assumed I wasn't going to purchase much so she put all it in one little bag that was filled to the top where it couldn't even close etc. So I kindly asked for a box and she had a problem with that. She gave me a dirty look and handed me a box that wasn't made / folded ( even though there were plenty already made) and told me I could do it myself. ( she wanted me to fold up my own box and put all the desserts in there myself) I couldn't believe how terrible the service was, the worse in the city of Loomis that's for sure! It was the lady with curly blonde/ brown hair.. Hopefully if you do decide to go, you will not get her. I will not be returning if she's still around, and I will not recommend this place to anyone. Ok so I have never been married and really do not understand the process of calling a bakery and asking the right questions. I called Divine on March 7, 2012 at 3:51 p.m. I get this girl who seemed young on the phone and when I introduced myself she said ok what do you need. Not a hello or how can I help you. Then as I am trying to ask her what was the procedure was for ordering a wedding cake she kept placing me on hold. Finally, she came back on the line and we started our conversation but I had to ask her ok, stop and listen to me. I asked her what is the process in regards to a wedding cake. Well at this point I thought we were getting somewhere and she stops me and tells not asks me if I could hold. I told her no I am done and you just lost a customer. I have never had their goodies but was recommended highly by others. I am a very much a customer oriented person and for me to want to purchase something as important as a wedding cake, I better get excellent service which lacked at the time I called. We were in the market for a wedding cake last year and weren't that invested in having the cake cost as much as my dress. I did a lot of shopping/tasting around. There is only one bakery that had better flavor, but they wanted three times as much, and had an 18 month waiting list. We were really pleased with Divine Desserts. It was a little out of the way, but we got personal service. The baker sat and talked with us, went through my book with us, and together we created the best wedding cake I have ever seen or eaten. We just celebrated our 1 year anniversary tonight and unfroze the top layer and it was so delicious. The Grand Marnier flavor was so good. The cake didn't dry out or taste funny. I first heard of Divine Desserts back in January 2008 when I attended the wedding expo. Low and behold, I sampled EVERY flavor there and no one could even come close. I scheduled a consultation with Divine Desserts and River City Cake Co. I met with River City first and they quoted me over $1000 for my cake for my wedding of approx. 150 guests. When I met with Divine Desserts, it was hassle free and a wonderful experience. Esther even let me take samples home to my husband. The quote, $400 for a 3 tier cake and a sheet cake in the back. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! WOW! Now just wait till you see the picture. At my wedding in June, a few of my cousins HAD to have their information and one cousin (who is very physically fit and athletic) had 4 pieces of cake, just so he could try all the flavors. I STILL hear about this cake from my friends and family and plan on using Divine Desserts to have my sons birthday cake done. I live in Elk Grove and will drive to have the special cakes from Divine Desserts and the experience of working with Esther over any local store any day! I HIGHLY recommend them. read more

Got married on 6-3-16 and the cake looked amazing but when you have 160 people looking at you and your wife to cut the cake and you can't because the cake is still frozen after having it sit out all day is embarrassing. What ruined the night was not having any of the cake you wanted because it was still frozen. Great place if you are looking for some cookies and pastries. All of their options are TO DIE FOR. I am however, only giving Divine Desserts 3 stars. Why you ask? They ruined my sisters wedding cake. My sister got married a few months back and because of all the awesome reviews she decided to try them out. But sadly everyone ate FROZEN wedding cake. The cake was completely frozen. Initially we were a little leery because their prices were so reasonable but after booking our wedding cake tasting we were hooked! All of their cakes were so good that we had a hard time selection which flavors we wanted. We ended up purchasing a couple cakes to share with our family for their feedback. When we saw the cake on our wedding day it looked exactly like the photo we had provided and tasted amazing! They gave us a ton of different kinds of cake to taste at the tasting, so there were plenty of different kinds of cake and fresh fruit fillings to choose from! Worst experience ever!!!!!! My husband and I were referred to Devine desserts for our wedding cake. We decided to get married in October and would be Having a last minute small wedding in December. We arrived to Devine desserts to place an order and was given a price quote for 40people, 2 teir cake @ $120. I was sure to explain that we need to put in an order ASAP but she insisted on trying their cake and picking a flavor . We scheduled a time to pick up our sample platter within the next couple days. Drove back to loomis to pick it up. We choose our flavors and called immediately. The receptionist had said you need to make an appointment with the cake decorator in person to go over all details. I left my name and number, never got call back! I called 2 weeks later saying hey I I still haven't heard back and I need to place the cake order or have a phone interview to finalize the order. They said they were slammed with upcoming thanksgiving and Christmas and that they will be in touch and available after thanksgiving, (another week away) . I called after thanksgiving and the cake decorator was very rude & told me that it's MY fault that I waited to the last min to place an order for my wedding cake and that no one does that, (in the cake world) made me feel very guilty and put the blame completely on me even after I expressed how many attempts Ive tried to finalize the order process. On top of that she changed the price to $310 . It was a basic plain cake. No decor or anything. I can't believe this is how they treat their customers especially in a customer service business. I won't recommend anyone to this place nor will I ever be back for how bad she made me feel about trying to place an order. read more

Ive been coming to Divine Deserts since my amazing wedding cake in 2012. We came here again today to get another amazing cake for my grandparents 80th birthday. It was absolutely gorgeous as expected and as I walked out to my car I clumsily fell *ugh*. My beautiful sheet cake now looked like a crazy mess. After ensuring I was ok. I asked my husband to go in and ask if they could fix it (it was just the frosting/decoration messed up) they were so amazing by offering to redo the whole cake but we didnt have time and since it was just the frosting that was a mess, my husband thanked them but asked if they could just fix the frosting. They fixed it on the spot and you would never know that it had been a mess moments before! I wish I took pictures of before but I did get pictures of it after they fixed it. And its gorgeous! I have to send out a huge thank you to the staff for their amazing help and care for me and the cake! Also it was amazing as always and all of our guests raved about it! This is a wonderful place to get top quality desserts. Their products are much better than those that you find at all of the grocery store bakeries. Even though they may be a little out of the way in Loomis, they are definitely worth the drive for a special occasion cake, or a daily treat for yourself.
