This place popped up on my Instagram reels so decided to give it a shot. There is no free parking here anymore. Since it was a weekday or wasn't very busy until lunch time. I only ordered a latte and it was great. The food menu looked good but maybe next time. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The furniture inside was super cute and chic making it also great spot for a girls brunch.

Found this place during a walk around the area. I initially wanted to try two other matchas but they were out of some ingredients. The cashier suggested the peach matcha, it was okay not great but not bad. The flavors for both the matcha and peach could be stronger, it was refreshing though. Service was good and everyone was really attentive. The place was nicely decorated for the holidays. While we waited for our drink I was able to see what other people ordered to dine in and everything that came out looked great.

This is a cute little European restaurant. It is adorable and the coffee is very high quality. The avocado toast was toasted perfectly with crunch on the outside and soft on the inside with a perfect amount of avocado. The service is also great. It is pay at the front, so no biggie, just maybe better for a small intimate couple or a few friends. Would definitely come back.

This is a review for the music and dinner show that takes place regularly at Divo Diva. I learned about Divo Diva because I frequent a business across the street. One evening, I heard opera music that I had thought was a recording, but then I heard people applauding. I was so surprised to find that it was live! After that, I looked up online and learned about the music and dinner show. I made a reservation to attend with two friends on a Friday night. When making the reservation, we learned that it was a set dinner menu with an appetizer, a drink ,and dinner along with the show. The price was around $100 per person (which included the show and gratuity), so I wasn't expecting anything too fancy. The host answered my request to reserve very quickly. She was very gracious and checked to see if there were any vegetarians or non-drinkers in our group. Anyway, the experience was like no other. The place is small and absolutely adorable. They had a list of coffee drinks that sounded wonderful, and some beautiful pastries behind the counter. The owners are both beautiful singers and sang a variety of operetta and show tunes. It was a two-person show. The customers appeared to be regulars and knew what to expect. The were both kind and outgoing and involved the audience in the show. It appears that they change the musical numbers regularly. It seems like the cafe itself has a lovely culture and they host other events during the week. The show is really a one-of-a-kind experience. If you enjoy opera music or show tunes, I highly recommend it. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the food was just OK. It consisted of a cheese and fruit plate, mushroom ravioli with meat sauce, and a glass of Prosecco. We ordered extra glasses of wine and a small dessert to share. As, I said, I didn't expect much for the price, and making the same dish for everyone is the easiest way to go for crowd with such a small staff. I'm not sure how it could be changed, but I may have preferred to eat first and just had drinks or dessert at the show. All in all, it was a very lovely evening.

I discovered this café through Yelp while searching for a spot in the Hillcrest area. It immediately caught my eye because it had all five-star reviews--which is rare! There's usually at least one person who isn't completely satisfied, so I figured it was definitely worth checking out. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the café's unique and charming ambiance. It's clear the owner put a lot of thought and care into the decor--some of the pieces show incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail. I happened to visit on St. Patrick's Day, and there was a parade happening nearby, which added to the festive vibe. I also snapped a bunch of photos by the pink tree outside--such a cute spot! I ordered a fancy drink and a pastry, and both were delicious. The owner even came over to chat with us. She was incredibly warm and down-to-earth--she totally gave me "girl next door" vibes. I'll definitely be back. Conclusion: The five stars are absolutely well-deserved. Ciao!

Went for the Halloween Phantom of the Opera dinner event. I love opera and was absolutely blown away with how lovely Victoria & Rosario were. It was absolutely so beautiful and wonderful made me tear up. The show was great and was lovely to enjoy wine, some really nice lasagna, and a leisurely charcuterie. A heart fulfilling and joyful evening! Thank you both for the light and beautiful sounds you bring to this world! Oh gosh almost forgot to mention the beautiful and cool masquerade decor! The cherry on top!

Everything Italiano. Coffee? Yes. Pastries? Yes. Cake? Yes. Pizza? Yea. Ice cream? Wine? Beer? Yes yes yes. No matter what time of the day or what mood you're in, you'd be able to find at least one thing that might strike your fancy. They even have live music on occasion. I love pistachio things and I tried their pistachio croissant. It was good! But kinda on the expensive side at $7. The staff are friendly and welcoming, you'd enjoy your time there inside or outside (great for people watching)

A welcoming and cozy cafe in Hillcrest with breakfast food and pastries, paninis, and salads. The hostess was very friendly and offered some suggestions from the menu. They have decent vegetarian options on the menu, but wish there were more vegan options. Ended up getting avocado toast and side salad which were fresh and flavorful. The cafe is clean, bright, and splendidly decorated with regal teal seats. Combined with the gold-colored utensils, the place felt luxurious. Seats were comfortable. They had outlets for my laptop.

Dearest reader, It seems as if you may have..stumbled upon a ROARING review of Divo Diva Cafe . I found Divo Diva Cafe scrolling through Facebook one day & immediately became intrigued by an Afternoon Tea that was to be held. There were only twenty spots available & I just knew I had to be in one of them. The booking process was so easy. Victoria helped set me up with two other ladies joining me so we would be able to sit with one another. Pictures do NOT do this place justice. Every corner has a pop of color & something interesting to see. The book case wall was my absolute favorite. Seriously looked like something out of a Princess story book. Parking was SUPER easy. There is a park & pay within walking distance with a close cross walk. The singing was also something else to hear! I've only included a snippet to encourage you to experience that type of power house in person. I have always admired hearing the song Carmen Habanera, but experiencing it in person had me in complete awe. Can not say enough good things about my experience here. The staff was great, food delicious, music (clarinet & two opera singers ) out of this world good, & overall a really nice atmosphere. I'll definitely be back soon .

We stopped in here after grabbing brunch nearby, and loved it! This place is SO cute! I abylove the decor! The servers were so friendly and attentive to make sure our drinks were good and exactly what we wanted, which they were! I recently drove all the way back across town to grab a honey lavender latte and this time also opted to get a couple donuts and caprese panini. First of all, this business needs to use more social media to invite business. Who has even heard of this place?! We had a flat bread topped with fresh mozzarella cheese & prosciutto. What's not to love about that? The ambiance is warm and inviting once you get past the register at the entrance. The service was ... well, it was ok. The entire experience was lacking that " je ne sais quoi. " There was just something missing! The business is obviously not attracting customers and it seems obvious that something needs to be done to drum up business. From the moment we stepped into the shop, the owner was on his laptop and he didn't get off his phone the entire two hours we were there but to prepare a couple of flat breads. This is not very welcoming or caring, for the customers feel ignored and unimportant. The presenter of the wine tasting experience did his best to make it interesting, but after he left there were five customers listening to a self absorbed egocentric woman chit chat. This is not the Italian way to entertain your customers! They had said they were singers, then why didn't they turn on some Italian music and break into song? They need to do something lively to make it a good time so people want to come back and bring their friends!!! read more

My wife and I have been getting great coffee and pastries at Divo Diva since we discovered this gem of a cafe a couple of months ago. We recently attended a New Years day Pasta and Ragu lunch. The Ragu was just like my Nana made, so delicious. Then after the meal we were treated to a phenomenal performance by Victoria and Rosario as they sang several classic songs. This place is a true gem! Where else can you enjoy an authentic Italian meal in such an intimate, beautiful setting while hearing super talented opera singers like Victoria and Rosario? There's nothing else like this in San Diego! We went last night for a Christmas sing-along and had a delicious meal: lobster bisque (YUM), mushroom ravioli with bolognese (YUM), and some great wine (and lots of desserts to choose from-YUM!). The interior is beautiful and elegant, but the atmosphere is anything but stuffy. I've been to a few of the evening events, and it's always been a fun and unique way to spend an evening. read more

Our parents surprised us with a visit to Divo Diva for one of the opera dinner shows that are offered on occasion, and we were completely blown away by the talent of Victoria and Rosario. It was the perfect way to enjoy opera-- the singers were gracious and entertaining between songs and the acoustics in the room were fabulous. We enjoyed a delicious appetizer plate and fantastic ravioli, rounded out with Italian desserts. The experience was totally unexpected and amazingly moving. Some day, we will look back and say that we experienced this before it went big. Do yourselves a favor and go now to enjoy the show! read more

My new favorite Hillcrest coffee shop-- bejeweled in delightful turquoise velvet & marble decor-- and soon to include an authentic gelato bar, for all you gelato lovers! The owners, both professional opera singers, greeted us warmly. Jo brought out our "Divo Delish" pizza right away, hand-tossed by Daniel-- big shout outs for the friendly & efficient surface. The coffee shop is sparkling clean and you can "do afternoon tea" for a set price here, too. The tiramisu was DELICIOUS with matcha latte. Exceptionally wonderful European-style cafe. You feel like you are in Europe from the second you step in to the moment you leave. The coffee is delicious, the decor is cozy and inviting, and the best part is they are so nice and welcoming. A beautiful coffee shop right in Hillcrest. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Jo, who also helped me decide on a drink. I got the dirty chai with oat milk and it was the perfectly sweet drink I needed. The chef Daniel cooked up the best chicken caprese I've had. I recently decided to try a new coffee shop in the Hillcrest area, and I was pleasantly surprised to have discovered this hidden gem. Though I used to live closer, it's quite a drive from where I am now, but it's certainly worth the trip. As locals may know, parking can be a challenge, but it's not impossible to find a spot. I had been a regular at Lestat's Coffee House on Adams Avenue, but I wanted to try something different. Divo Diva Café is a modern European-inspired café that prioritizes freshness in everything they do. For breakfast, they offer açaí bowls, avocado toast, bagels, and croissants. For lunch, the menu includes bruschettas, paninis, and pizzas. If I had visited in the evening, I would have been able to try their impressive selection of wines. The café has a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff was busy due to a rush of customers, but the wait was minimal. I was greeted by one of the owners, Rosario Monetti, who was charming, professional, and friendly as he took my order. I started with the Mexican Mocha, which smelled and tasted incredible. The blend of cinnamon, chocolate, and coffee was perfectly balanced, leaving a robust, yet smooth, flavor. I'll definitely be back to try their specialty coffee drinks, which are sure to be just as outstanding. After getting some work done, I invited my sister to join me and try a few more menu items. She ordered the tiramisu, while I opted for the açaí bowl. The tiramisu was rich and creamy, offering the perfect "pick-me-up" we were both craving. The açaí bowl, on the other hand, had a delightful combination of earthy and sweet flavors, perfectly balanced. Unfortunately, I only managed to take a picture of the açaí bowl at the end of the day, as we devoured the other items too quickly! This café has only been open one year and I can see how much the owners are pouring their hard work and love into this neighborhood gem. The food is really good quality and the staff is very welcoming. I particularly love the coffee because it is coffee imported from Italy And tastes good just on its own as an espresso or mixed with one of their mini coffee drinks. Just know I've been frequenting your restaurant for the last twenty five years. I've brought in my family, spent a lot of money with you, but because you choose to not train your staff, you have lost me! I called in a to go order on Father's Day. As I picked up my order, I asked the young guy with the mustache for an orange juice to go. Just so you know, he filled up my to go cup barely half way. I was thirsty. I said can you top it off, he then took a cup, I don't know if it was a dirty cup from the counter or what, but he grabs a glass right off the bar and pours my to go orange juice into it to show me it's the same amount as their glasses in the restaurant. As he poured it, it spilled. He then poured it back into my to go cup. I couldn't believe it. First that was unnecessary, second it was rude, third he spilled some of my drink, and fourth all he had to do was top it off with a little more. It's not a big deal. What was just as bad was his attitude which was absolutely awful! I looked at him like he was crazy. FFS I've been coming for 25 years! It was Father's Day! I am a father. This guy is awful! But wait it gets worse. I called in the following week to speak to the manager, this same young guy with the mustache answers the phone! I ask to speak to the manager, he asks me my name, I'd rather not give it to be honest, I just wanted to talk to the manager to tell him what happened. This same jerk asks me, and I kid you not, 7-8 times - "What's your name" "What's your name" "What's your name" over and over. It was again insane! Finally I said please let me speak to him! The manager answers, he's short with me, total attitude. I try to explain what just happened on the phone, he doesn't care, explains he gets "a lot of scam phone calls" which I honestly doubt, but whatever. He then is such an ass. When I ask him who can I speak to other than him, he belligerently tells me he is the guy, he's been there twenty something years, there's no one else, he speaks to the owner. He was so unprofessional at that point, and such a pompous jerk, I tell him to forget it, I am never coming back. He hangs up. Not surprised now that the staff is rude, it starts from the top! Lindsay you have a major problem with this restaurant! I have noticed a lot less people frequenting your establishment. You need to hire better people and have them treat guests with a better attitude. You have lost me now. I have found better places locally to spend my money with my family. Just started going to Madi and let me tell you, the food is great and so is the service! Tell you what, when the manager is gone and so is that kid with the mustache, I might come back. So let me know me once they are set free. If not, forget it! I am still so pissed. The entire thing could have been taken care of if the kid just topped off my orange juice. And by the way it's kind of dumb to have to go cups where you fill it half way. It's just not a good look, makes customers feel like they aren't getting what they paid for. Good luck with that hot mess! What a joke!
