Mostly college students but also older adults getting work done and having their morning coffee. The line never got super long but this wouldn't be somewhere to grab a coffee if you're already late to work. Service was lovely, the people behind the counter are very kind. I ordered one of their buns, they had a Turkish name. The bun itself wasn't as great as I thought it would be, was more like bread than a bun TBH. And it took a while to make which is fine for me since I was staying but something to be cautious about. I got a coconut lavender latte though and enjoyed that. A group of U.S. walked to Divvy on a Sunday morning, and we absolutely loved it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]One thing to note is that Divvy gets quite busy, so while there is indoor seating, it may not be guaranteed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their menu boasts a large selection of specialty coffees, teas, baked goods, and savory dishes, and it was truly difficult to choose just one drink because everything sounded so good. I went with the pistachio baklava iced latté, and I almost ordered a second to go because it was so good. It was the perfect amount of sweet, and that sweetness didn't take away from the strong coffee. The breakfast sandwich was good, but it didn't blow me away. I wish the bun would have been swapped out for a bagel or English muffin. But the eggs were very good, and the cheese was nice and gooey. One person in our group ordered a pomegranate green tea, and she said it was very flavorful but not obnoxiously sweet. Overall, we really enjoyed Divvy and will almost certainly be back! read more

Great spot by Pitt campus for coffee and small breakfast items/sandwiches. Coffee is always good and even when I get flavored drinks it's not as sweet as the ones you'd get at Starbucks or dunkin which I like for a pretty similar price. I've sampled the food twice--the first time, I had a veggie breakfast sandwich (the only vegan sandwich option). I was disappointed that it was just some raw vegetables on a large, dry bun. The second time I went I had an apple turnover. It was big and fluffy in the case and totally deflated to a flat, bland croissant with a smidge of apple filling after it was heated. I came in on Sunday to try the spot out. Students were there studying and conversing. There was ample seating available. I ordered a Istanbul Delight bun. They called me shortly afterwards to let me know they were out of a key ingredient for it. I asked what else would be available. The Carnival was comparable I'm told, but they were out of strawberries. They didn't seem to know what else to offer so I settled on the Carnival. It came out on a wooden cutting board and I found silverware on the counter. The bun itself was good, with a hint of coffee like flavor. The custard topping didn't offer much nor did the ice cream. I'd much prefer the bun standalone. It was just okay. Glad to have tried the bun and see the cafe. read more

What a cool place! They offer quite a variety of different breakfast options, both savory and sweet. I was most interested in their buns, which seemed to be a unique offering. So, I tried out the Sweet Paris dessert bun. The Sweet Paris bun came with a bit of bananas, strawberries, and Nutella. The portion was quite large, but it wasn't all that cheap either. It came with an ample amount of delicious hazelnut and chocolate spread. The inside of the bun was soft and fluffy. Very tasty! The bottom had a nice crispiness to it. Almost like a tad of a coffee flavor at the bottom. Not too sweet or sugary itself, but a delicious sweet topping. I loved it. I would recommend this place for coffee, breakfast, or sweet buns. Wanted to try local instead of Starbucks so stopped by Divvy before our tour of campus. Man, talk about expensive. Two breakfast sandwiches and two coffees came in at around $22 (?!). My americano was fine, hard to screw that up. My daughter had a vanilla latte that tasted more like milk. The food was...a mix. My sausage egg and cheese bun was delicious. Great flavor, nice and warm on a great bun. My daughter got the Pairs bun (at least I think that is what it is called) with Nutella, fruit and hazelnuts with a drizzle of chocolate sauce. A bit much for first thing in the morning and a challenge to eat. It was good, but seven dollars leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Lattes are typically sweet but I liked how this one wasn't as sweet as expected. Staff was patient and nice! I stopped by here earlier today by myself for my morning coffee. Divvy Coffee & Buns is located right on Forbes in the heart of Oakland and I decided to come here after noticing it the night before. The inside of this restaurant consists of plenty of seating, a giant accent of pink on one of the side walls and then an area to order your food and coffee in the back. As their name would suggest, they offer a variety of coffees and then both savory and sweet buns. On this Saturday morning I arrived shortly after they opened at 8 AM and was the only customer. After perusing the menu, I ultimately went with a large caramel latte. Upon placing my order I was asked what type of milk I wanted and chose whole. Then, while waiting for my coffee to be ready, I checked out both the menu and the restaurant. After a short amount of time I had my coffee and was on my way. The coffee itself was decent, with the most prominent flavor being the sweet caramel. Then the milk helped to add some creaminess. Unfortunately the coffee itself got lost in the caramel flavor and so while I knew it was there, I didn't really get to taste much of it. For some that probably is a good thing, but for me, well, I really like to enjoy the coffee as well. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. Their buns definitely looked interesting and while I was a little disappointed in the coffee I had, I would certainly try another, this time without the flavoring. read more

Huge differentiator from the other cafe/coffee shops in the area - the acai bowls. I had never had acai before and I went on a total binge after I got the acai bowls here. They eventually became an off/on menu item on uber eats, so I would have to try to find acai elsewhere. Best I could do were the small Dole bowls that Market District carried but wasn't as good.
