Since moving to Cape Coral 8 months ago, I've been to most of the bars and clubs between here and Fort Myers. I've been to Dixie Roadhouse several times. I've been casually reading a lot of the 1 star reviews and they read like a group of friends trying to attack the bar because of a bad experience they had. I figured I would balance out some of this with my truth as I hate seeing Yelp used like a weapon for those with no accountability. #1. It's a country line dancing bar, big, open and safe enough that the place is packed with seniors line dancing before 10pm. After 10, the younger crowds come in and take over the floor and socialize. Among the crowd is every type of person you can think of. Which is great. Yes, even black folks and they line dance too! Shocker. The idea that the club is somehow racist just sounds like nonsense as I'm an observer type and I never saw anything but people having a good time with the occasional "tough guy" looking for a mark. #2. The drinks were fine. I'm a Scotch guy and while they dont have my brand (The McCallan) they still have plenty of options and aren't skimpy on the pours. #3. I have no knowledge of the owner at all nor do I know of her personality, beliefs, politics, etc. The people complaining about the bar not pushing for Masks that have been proven to not work anyway (I've had Covid 4 times now), just scream "angry mob mentality liberals on a mission". Sorry, but the President has supposedly been jabbed a couple times and is seen taking off his mask before every speech (because he wears his any other time, right) to which he said would ensure jabbed folks wouldn't get the bug and well, hes tested positive twice now in a few weeks. I could go on but the point is, if you have a belief that masks are good and you're that worried about the bug, stay at home where its safe for you. Thats what your science says to do anyway. According to your indoctrination, I mean, "Science", if you've been jabbed, boosted, double masked and believe Mail In Ballots are ok for dead people, then you shouldn't have to worry about someone else not wearing a thin cloth shield that does basically nothing and your ignorance and anger is only compounding the problem. #4. Having bounced in bars for years from my 18th birthday into my 20's, there is something to be said about drunk people in a bar being belligerent, nonsensical and otherwise impossible to deal with. Whether a douchebag sucker punching others to impress his buddies after downing bottles of liquid courage or women who get toasty for fun, can easily generate a great deal of heat and dealing with this night after night can tend to make people "testy" and expecting of drama when faced with this type of situation. Rarely is it a race, political or otherwise based on anything other than the issue at hand. People love to use whatever means they can to avoid accountability for how embarrassingly they behave in public bars generally pointing to anything other than themselves as the problem. Overall, I posted the long winded review because Yelp shouldn't be used as a weapon to try and harm a business that has been around longer than most of the 1 star reviewers have been alive as they play victim to an establishment that simply didn't agree with their bullshit, bad attitudes or sense of entitlement. The new co-owner made a post openly declaring that "nothing shall stop us from owning Cape Coral's Dixie Roadhouse and all Lee County bars." And then proceeded to say the following (and this is an exact quote from the new co-owner): "I am the new owner of Cape Coral's Dixie Roadhouse, along with two other co-owners. Nothing shall obstruct our route, including losers that try to tell us to go back to Naperville. It is wrong and inappropriate for all persons with autism, asperger's syndrome, cerebral palsy, down's syndrome, epilepsy, emh, th, spina bifita, and all persons in wheelchairs, to go to any bar, nightclub, or restaurant worldwide. In the old days, they institutionalized everyone like that. All guys that are single past high school graduation are an inherent danger to the public and also need to be locked up for life upon high school graduation, they should never be allowed in college, let alone the workforce. That other reddit post is correct, we will be having undercover ICE officers deployed at all bars that we own as well as all events throughout SW Florida, including Cape Coral Bike night starting in October of this year. Here come all the negative reviews solely based on this place having poor business practice in the middle of a pandemic. They'll likely play it off and try to get Yelp to delete these one stars but Yelp doesn't delete reviews that are factual. I've been here and this place is garbage even prior to all the photos they have posted online of crowded night club with not a single person wearing a mask. It's business like this that are making it IMPOSSIBLE for other businesses to stay open. Like DR, if you're reading this, you do realize you are contributing to the problem of COVID spreading and this in turn keeps your neighboring businesses closed. How can this place be so selfish? Don't go to Dixie Roadhouse! We bought halloween vip frightnight tickets hoping to see a great 3 band rock show comprised of Otherwise, Ten Years, and Pop Evil. The show was supposed to start around 7:30 with an illusionist then the bands. The illusionist maybe did 15 min the we waited for a half hour for Otherwise. They came out and played acoustic which sucked. After 3 songs we had to leave because the cigarette smoke was soo thick it made you sick and the real kicker was the bouncer said they oversold the venue by 300 or so tickets and things would be dangerous as they couldn't really keep track of the head count. The fire marshal would love that! The frightnight was advertised as family friendly, unbelievable that they let kids into this dive bar scene!!!! this is an absolutely messed up place! my life was in danger, and the OWNER, LYNN had absolutely no remorse for my friend trying to find me and protect me. she had to be completely belligerent and very, VERY angry. at least that's what i HOPE, for that type of behavior and for her sake. no one in that condition should be running a business. So, i had so much fun at this place. So much fun that i ended up getting kicked out and police escorted me outside... Because i couldnt find my credit card. The woman wouldnt give me a chance. A random man came up behind me trying to pound my ass from the back in the beggining it was cool but then i couldnt find my card and while i wss looking for it he came back up behind me and started doing that again. I think they should play more hip hop for sure or rock. Same old country shit i believe theyd get more people to come there. I am Canadian and was in there with my two boys last night. We were met rudeness and unprofessionalism by bartender who immediately advised upon learning we were from Canada that it was about time we tariffed your country.. she said she was born in Florida . Worst night I have ever had was here. An abusive man basically attacked my friend three time and the last one he threw a drink at her. The management team really didn't do anything to this man.
