BEST Chana Bhatura in US. I mean it. I have grown up in Delhi & Punjab. It's straight outta Paharganj, Delhi.

    Vegetarian thali

The restaurant has a pleasing interior and the service was friendly. This used to be a barbeque restaurant so it has some elements left that don't quite jive with the elegant Indian restaurant, such as antler chandeliers and tons of flat screen TVs playing football, but never mind. The food was mediocre in my opinion. The chef didn't pull off enough of a distinctive taste and it all kind of tasted rather middling. I know how hard it is to make distinctive Indian food (as I try and fail in my kitchen quite a lot) but I must be blunt. I had the vegetarian thali, nothing really stood out to me. The papad served was not crisp and I requested it be replaced. The achar (pickle) was wierd and house-made, but not properly zingy and tangy and spicy. I like the concept of the thali, but it ain't the best in the world at this spot.

This place is so great. I am Indian born and raised and this biryiani is the BEST I've ever had. I don't even understand how it's so great. The paneer tika was also amazing. All of the food was so fire. And so fresh. Yes it's oily so don't eat here every day, but oh my GOD is it good.

Garlic naan, lamb dish, butter chicken, rice and dessert from the lunch buffet for $10.

A bit out of the way in the Kentlands. Great $10 lunch buffet with all you can eat naan regular and garlic. Comes toasted and there isn't another option. Butter chicken is a staple on the buffet and it does have a heavy tomato sauce flavor. Good mix of spicy and mild entrees with plenty of basmati rice and a chopped salad option. Two desserts come with the buffet that rotate daily. Good value, casual atmosphere and they serve drinks and brunch now- but they do have signs posted they will no longer be open on Mondays.

Yes, the tamarind martini was better than ever, a perfect balance that tasted like a spicy sugared tamarind candy. Yes, the thali was excellent (particularly the goat), but I'll be back for the biryani. This is nothing like the usual biryani that are a plate of rice pilaf, maybe dry, maybe not, with a few pieces of meat placed in two rows across the top. This biryani (chicken. next time we'll try the goat) was served in the small clay pot in which it was cooked in the tandoor. I was a little disconcerted when I opened the lid that had been sealed to the pot with dough that kept everything moist and I saw nothing but white rice, but not for long. I stirred it up a little, and low and behold there was so much stewy yuminess. Well, I've never had ANYTHING that tasted anything like it, or anything really more delicious. I'm looking forward to going back and having it again, an appetizer, sarson da saag, and one of those tamarind martinis.

I was in neighborhood and got hungry. I searched for Indian restaurant and found Diya close by. It turned out to be buffet. I tried pretty much everything. Food was just ok. Nan bread was as flat "Papadum". Chicken Tikka Masala and Paneer Makhani has same taste. It was my first time eating Chicken Tikka Masala with bell pepper. If chef was experimenting, I suggest don't do that. It killed the dish. Dal and Gajar Halwa were tasty. Service was good.

I've been meaning to try Diya since they've opened and since there is a Groupon for it now, I thought it was the perfect time. We arrived around 6pm on a Sunday for dinner and the place was relatively empty for the size of the restaurant. We decided to order the butter chicken (which is my favorite and go to dish any time I'm eating Indian food) and the lamb roganjosh. To my surprise, I enjoyed the lamb dish a lot more than the butter chicken. It had a spice kick to it whereas the butter chicken was not spicy at all and tasted a lot more tomato-y compared to butter chicken I've had in the past. I definitely have had better around this area. But the chicken and the lamb were both soft and easy to eat. Each dish came with rice and a huge piece of buttered naan. We were stuffed by the end of the meal. All in all, the food was nothing to rave about. It was good but nothing more, nothing less. The service was excellent and parking is plentiful.

I ordered from this place via Uber Eats on a weekday. They were one of few spots still open passed 9pm, therefore I decided to try this place out. I ordered the Chicken Tikka, Butter chicken and garlic naan. The chicken tikka was well marinated and came with some house spices. The butter chicken tasted a little different to other butter chickens I tasted before. I don't want to say it was bad, it just tasted like it had more tomato sauce in it, but it was still enjoyable with the Garlic naan I ordered.

Mini heater because none of the heating units was working

Absolutely Disgusting...... Biryani literally smelled, chicken was inedible, oh and literally all the naans were pretty much burned as in charred....20 degree weather and the heat is not working and finally the soda is 70% Seltzer ....... Oh almost forgot with reservations for about 20 people it took them over an hour to setup and cook cause I'm assuming they didn't prep........ How does this place even exist I must admit the rush kabob for apps were good and the Gajar ka halwa (Carrot Halwa) was awesome, if you stick to these items you'll have a great dinner with nothing but water to wash it down with

    Our appetizer, raj kachori.
    Valerie S.

I stopped in with my boyfriend around 3pm on a saturday for a late lunch, and the restaurant was empty except for another patron. We were seated right away, and decided to order off menu rather than going for the buffet. We got the raj kachori for our appetizer, which was served cold and was good, although not quite what I was expecting from the menu description. We got a diet coke to share, and it was a bit flat, but that wasn't a big deal. I got the veggie thali and he got the non-veg thali, and we both enjoyed everything that included. The spinach paneer and chickpea dish were spiced very differently from how i've had the dish before - they had a lighter taste. The chickpeas seemed to have some kind of warming spices, like cinnamon or nutmeg. But the lentil dal was by far the best. Overall, the meal was good. The naan had a generous amount of butter, as did the rice, and there wasn't a bad dish among anything we had. The only thing about the meal that left a bad taste in our mouths at the end was the fact that we asked for the rest of our meal to be boxed up for us to take home (I would assume that this is standard practice), and it never came. We paid, signed the bill, and.. Never got the rest of our food in a to go box. I have no idea what happened, but we weren't happy to walk out without the rest of our meal.

    C J.

Ive been wanting to try this place. It's tucked away. It was the best fish curry we have ever had. The biryani was great. And the place is beautiful.

We went if Fourth of July and unfortunately had to pay premium price for lunch. They had lobster available but it was mushy and basically inedible. Skip the sushi. Good thing we arrived early enough to beat the crowd and get dibs on the food that alone would be worth $20 if eating by itself in a typical Chinese resto - examples include the seafood (which my wife says was surprisingly fresh compared to all other buffets we've had in the past), ribs, roast duck, pho (yes...PHO!) - to name a few. The place itself is quite spacious, modern looking, and clean. Tables were NOT crammed together like some other buffets might be. Restrooms were big and clean. Speaking of cleanliness - plates were clean AND DRY (unlike every other buffet I've been to where the dishwasher seems to be so overwhelmed that plates come out wet...yuck) Staff is amazing! Friendly, took their time, efficient at removing dirty plates, and gentle...not sure what I mean by that, but I feel like it made my dining experience that much better. Food-wise, I'd say was slightly a step above in terms of the non-seafood items. My wife says the seafood was top notch. I really enjoyed the ribs, chicken stick, and beef broccoli - although everything else was quite tasty. My 7 y/o enjoyed the pizza, fries, and chicken nuggets. The taro bun was nice and soft - a definite departure from the stale, hard-on-the-outside buns I was accustomed to at other buffets. Most surprisingly was that they had pho!...which I've never ever seen before at a Chinese buffet. I didn't have a chance to try it, but will certainly do so next time. Parking-wise - there seems to be dedicated parking at the resto level (at least I didn't see any other businesses at that lower level) which can be accessed by driving straight towards the buffet and NOT going to the upper level where the Burlington strip mall is. If lower level parking is full, there would certainly be more parking in upper level....then simply take the stairs down to buffet. I'm excited to go back....and excited for YOU to try it! Definitely one of the best....if not THE BEST Chinese buffet I've ever been to. And having experienced the Chinese buffets in Southern California, that's saying a lot! NOTE: Don't compare a buffet to a traditional Chinese restaurant. In a buffet....it's more about getting your fill. Here, I think you'll find that you not only get your fill, but you'll be satisfied. OH! And my stomach was not upset at all afterwards (apart from being soooo full lol). Bon appetit!

There are honestly too many delicious options to list. Some of my personal favorites include the carved brisket roast and the perfectly steamed halibut. I also loved the made-to-order noodle bar, where I customized a pho bowl topped with beef, wontons, and roasted duck. It was rich, comforting, and full of flavor. Two kinds of fried wings in total, which didn't help. Another staff had their phone volume maxed out, so the noise never stopped.
