When she finally came over for the first time she just asked me what I wanted , didn't greet me, then when I finally ordered food. They just sat the food down. Didn't give me a fork, water or napkins took another 10 minutes until a random waitress walked by, then I'm sitting there still with a plate full of food she ask me if I'm ready to close out?!? So I politely closed out and just left. The whole vibe was off from the beginning. Don't feel welcomed at all. I'll tell all 26k of my coworkers not to bother with this place. The interior is quite spacious, though I can see this place filling up during game nights at the nearby TD Ameritrade Center. It was nice and quiet when I was there. Came here two nights in a row and had two very different experiences. The first night was awesome! My friends and I had appetizers that we loved: the nachos are HUGE and pretty delicious. The pretzel bites are really tasty and the mac and cheese bites are pretty standard but delicious. Beers are pretty big too. Second night.... was bad. We ordered more entrees and none of them were good. One of my friends got a chicken sandwich and the chicken patty was definitely still frozen. He couldn't bite through it. We came in on 2:30 on a Friday and the bar was less than a quarter full. We sat ourselves immediately, and our drink orders were taken and delivered quickly. A server appeared, took our orders, and then our good food came out. The wings were excellent. The ranch was some third party pre-package. Definitely not something a place that is proud of its food should have--really strange for Nebraska because of the big wing culture. Sort of surprised by this. They also charge fifty cents for an additional sauce and a dozen wings only come with one--a dozen wings is more than $13 with tax. Not really value for money. Then our server just vanished. No refills. No check ups. We waited long enough so I got up, went to the bar to get a refill, the bartender finished serving the other two patrons, did not acknowledge me, and simply walked away. One of the people who took our initial drinks finally saved the day. Incredibly, even after the server should've known we were feeling neglected, 10 minutes passed between when we finished eating before someone came to see if we needed anything. This food isn't cheap. I live next door to DJ's so we're here a lot. Knowing they're across the street from a major event space its tough to handle the surge of people for any bar. Luckily, DJ's is big enough to handle a large crowd and the staff does their best to help. Because of these swings of extremely busy to almost dead the consistency of food and service has been hit and miss over the years. For over a year they didn't have Miller Lite on tap! I was told it was a feud between the (former) manager and the Bud Light rep were at odds over something. We've had food come out on both ends of the spectrum so its a crap shoot when we do eat there. This includes nights they aren't slammed with concert crowds The staff is (usually) very friendly and does their best. Not this place - I've had MUCH better burgers from BK or McD's ... absolute fail!!! I was in town for a conference and decided to walk the few blocks to check out DJ's on a recommendation from the new-in-town barista at the doubletree. It was Monday and on Monday, burgers are BOGO (buy one, get one free) *OR* 50% off your burger! While they seem equivalent, they aren't since you could go in alone and eat your emotions without needing a dining companion. I got the buffalo burger which came out with a zippy tangy buffalo sauce and melted bleu cheese crumbles. My coworker got the A1-peppercorn burger and seemed happy with his pick. The waitress who's name was Tristian said "I purposefully did not come back with refills because I know you would be mad I didn't have your food" we waited for an hour and 40 minutes. I have no idea why or how this place is still open. If you want a night of bad food fueled intense self loathing, deep retrospection of life choices, and reconsidering the way a sports bar works, this is the place for you. Be warned, this place will test your patience by messing up your order to a point where it's not an order gone wrong, it's a different order. If you think they'll get it right once pointed out, you're gonna eat your shoe, because this place does not believe in that. The extent of effort that goes in putting a brownie in 4 scoops of ice cream, covering said scoops in chocolate sauce, topped with cherries, is easily achieved by an enthusiastic 5th grader. Not to mention, all of these components are store bought, they don't even make it in house. However, when your order of brownies have no brownies in it, you're unsure if you're on candid camera. I would rather recommend the cheapest food at a gas station, at least you get what you pay for. The staff was unapologetic and on the spectrum for rude behavior.
