Haven't had their pizza yet but I have had spaghetti with meatballs, grilled chicken salad and fried mushrooms from them and they all were very good, the size of the salad was very big as well as the serving of spaghetti. The prices are very reasonable. I have only ordered takeout so I can't speak about the wait staff. read more

My husband was thinking about getting pizza today so I was looking at DJs menu. He decided he actually didnt want pizza but after looking at the menu I couldnt stop thinking of lasagna. I really wasnt expecting great lasagna from a pizza place, mainly because my experiences with pasta dishes from other pizza places has been underwhelming to say the least. But I wanted lasagna so I ordered it and i am so happy I decided to try it! It was delicious. First of all they give you a really nice portion in its own cute little pan. It comes with a breadstick and a really nice salad. The salad was packaged really nicely and made really well with more ingredients than I expected and even some shredded cheese. So A+ on the salad! The lasagna had great flavor and was just the perfect amount of cheesy. This lasagna was better than some I've had at italian restaurants. Usually I find people skimp ok the cheese and the filling but this had perfect amounts of all. I was really impressed and will def try other pasta dishes from here. We lived out here 4 years ago and my husband swears we had the pizza and didnt love it but we cant really remember. After this trip I cant believe the pizza would be bad so next time we get pizza it will be from here. I had the wings tonight and they were DAMN GOOD. They were cooked perfectly and were nice and HOT. The sauce was cooked into the meat which is the way I like them - the HOMEMADE ranch sauce sticks so much better that way! I only intended to eat half of the order, but ended up finishing the ENTIRE BASKET because they tasted so good. Come here for the Pizza stay for the wings! As a Chicago girl I am quite picky about my pizza & I can tell you without a doubt this is amazing pizza from an amazing local establishment with excellent customer service!! First the food...the pizza has the crisp, flavorful cracker crust that I grew up with!! This is the most difficult crust to master & they have done it to perfection!! The toppings are first rate, high quality, & plentiful! We also ordered breaded mushrooms-amazing!! My 6yr old was eating them by the hand full-the rest of us were left fighting for crumbs-but it was worth the tussle!! ;-) Side salads were good(not just lettuce, they include tomato, cucumber, & cheese as well), the ranch dressing was spectacular...my one suggestion would be to add a few of those famous croutons instead of the pack of crackers-however that is minor & I'm sure could be fixed with a request or just by eating in next time. The gourmet fries are not your standard appetizer fries, these are over the top LOADED with REAL cheese & bacon!! I could make a meal with just these fries...with ranch to drink, I mean dip ;-) The coconut cake was good, however as a former baker, I tend to be a smidge more critical here & say that there is room for improvement...but its good. The 7 of us split 3 pieces & there wasn't a crumb left-after full meals, so obviously no one was complaining too much ;-) Now on to the service...before my husband even made it back with our food, I received a phone call from DJ's, they had found our salads on the counter, we had left them behind...the owner, Tiffany, BROUGHT THEM TO US!! She literally got in her car & brought them across town-during a storm no less. This was unbelievable & truly made a bad day brighter-that was the point of the pizza in the first place. Then we got a double dose thanks to the outstanding service & hospitality!! That level of service is unmatched at any restaurant I have ever frequented, anywhere & exactly how they have earned my Hsv pizza business for life!! I had some high hopes about this place because of all of the reviews. The first thing that hits you is the smell of the place, you would think that you would smell pizza, but instead you smell nothing but fried food. The staff were really nice and there was no issue there. The main thing is that I was really disappointed of the quality of the pizza! 1st the crust... it is thin and crispy, it was really the only part of the pizza that was bearable. The sauce is lacking flavor! The cheese was meh . The toppings were the worst part of it all... the sausage, ham, and bacon were super dry, like they were frozen and cooked in the microwave. The pepperoni was dried out and Tasted old. I could only eat about 2 slices before I felt like I was going to puke. I'm sorry DJs, but you need to step your game up and use FRESH ingredients. Very pleasant restaurant! The staff is friendly (it's a family-run business), the restaurant is very clean and nice inside, and the 10" Hawaiian pizza I ate today was good! They also serve subs , spaghetti and meatballs, and other food. I'll be back soon to try it! :) They have two TVs inside on either side of the room if you would like to watch a football game or something else. I can't wait until they start serving beer! It looks like the most dive-y place. Cinderblock walls and mix matched tables and chairs. But the pizza is really good! I grew up near Chicago and this is the best place in the Huntsville area for a thin crust tavern style pizza. The crust comes out pretty crispy, the sauce is good but not fantastic. The toppings are layered just right every time. Not too much not too little. They are really accommodating about splitting a pie. When I go I split a large with some friends and we get half mushroom onion green pepper and half pineapple olive. It always turns out really nicely and is tasty. (Don't catch me with the pineapple olive pizza, lol.) We LOVE the mozzarella sticks and often order two orders of 6 for the three of us. I drive 20+ minutes each way at least once a week to sit here and bask in the dim light and pizza done right. When you walk in you seat yourself and then when you are done you go to register over by the bar and tell the cashier your table number. We visited Dj's last night after reading the rave reviews online. Unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. The service was very friendly and we were greeted right away. But our pizza (large sticky fingers) needed a boost in the sauce, perhaps a little zest and depth. neither of us could really taste the sausage, and the cracker-like crust, which was indeed thin, needed more texture and chew for our liking. We also thought based on our assessment of the quality, that the price of $17 was too high. Another disappointing aspect of our visit, was that we didn't learn about the specials (one of which looked yummy) until we passed by the chalkboard on our way out. It would have been nice if the server would have called our attention to it before we ordered. read more

Let me start by saying I have really enjoyed eating here in the past, and I am always a big fan of supporting local establishments. However we will not be supporting this local establishment anymore. My wife and I ate weekly at DJ's. One night right before closing we picked up a pizza to go. The mushrooms were so tough that my wife and I couldn't eat them and we were spitting them out in the box as we ate. We left 2 slices in the box. I figured that we would let them know about the problem the next time we ordered because the restaurant was already closed. Three days later I called and asked to speak to the manager. I explained the situation and how I knew this wasn't typical of their pizza. As a result, I was initially offered 10% off. I explained that we left more than 10% of the previous pizza in the box not to mention that the pizza that we did eat tasted awful. I was eventually offered $5 off my pizza. Then when I picked up the pizza, I was lectured about saving the pizza and box next time it was not right if I wanted a discount. Is it my responsibility to pack around bad pizza and a box full of mushrooms for a few days until I can make it into the restaurant? I found this offensive, because my wife and I were regular customers, and I was being treated as if we were trying to cheat our way to a discount. This will be the last pizza we get there due to the poor customer service. I welcome a sincere apology from the owners. read more

I just moved to Huntsville in April from Denver. I LOVE PIZZA!!! I have been on the hunt for good pizza. After being disappointed in sooo sooo many ways with my attempts to find good pizza in the HSV area, I FINALLY FOUND my go-to place!!! DJ's pizza is thin and crispy. (I even ate all the crust, that's how good it is!!!) The sauce has a little spice to it but not overwhelming. The cheese is melty and bubbly. I waited to write this review until I put it through the "reheat" test. You have to admit, we have all had the pizza that we think is great hot out of the oven but are sadly disappointed when it doesn't reheat very well the next day. This pizza passed the test. I reheated it the next day for breakfast (because I kept dreaming about it all night). I put it in my toaster oven on the reheat option at 285 degrees for about 4 or 5 minutes for 2 slices. I literally drove 27 miles from my home on the western end of Madison to DJ's and I will do it again and again for this pizza. GO to DJ's for the best pizza in Huntsville!! read more
