Part 2 dinner review Mother's Day weekend 2021. Again I am in shocking surprise at the flavor packed chicken fajitas dish with there signature refried beens and Spanish rice. We were staying at the local water park resort and were disappointed by our restaurant experiences there. Our friends had recommended Pete's Restaurant & Brewhouse. Finding the restaurant was an adventure. Due to the overgrown landscaping we nearly crashed into another car. It took a few minutes to be seated. There seems to be something for everyone on the menu. We decided to split a full rack of ribs. We were not disappointed. Ribs were cooked perfectly with just enough sauce. Splitting the fries gave each of us a nice amount of fries. We finished off the meal with a fresh baked chocolate cookie topped with two scoops of ice cream. Great food and excellent service, we hope to be return to Pete's Restaurant & Brewhouse. read more

This restaurant has a new owner. The food remained the same. Manteca has never had good restaurants. The host was very slow and served other people first although we had been standing. This is my second time here, the first time we came and ate at Pete's, it was pleasant and our waitress was on point. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The second and last time we came to eat at Pete's, it was horrible. They sat us (party of 6) and forgot about us. Went in on Saturday after a baseball game, 2 families total of 7 people,our friends had shown up first and they said they were told no split checks. We told them we only needed two tabs and they refused. We asked if we could speak to the manager it was hard to believe they couldn't do it. The manager was at the bar came over and told us no they could not split check but they could do 2 transactions... I said ok so basically we do the math and let you know, he said yes. OK we were hungry so we said ok. He took us to the table and said did they also tell you that it's 18 percent gratuity. I said you know what let's go. We would not mind paying that at all if they were accommodating we actually would tip more if service was good, but it started bad so it was going to end bad. We just left. Thursday, August 20, 2020 Redo: So Door Dash Replaced the order for me and I waited. But again who ever worked last friday was an excellent cook. They had included everything in the box. Lemon for calamari and dressing for the salad. The steak in the new order was not a fillet mignon at all. It was dry with no flavor like last Friday. Whomever worked last Friday needs to be paid more and work all day! Or at least train someone who has the passion of cooking like that chef. The chef from yesterday, was lazy and depressed. That's how the food tasted. SAD AF! I don't know how I feel. I might give them one more chance. But this time, I pay them a visit. This place was awesome! We went because of the reviews here on Yelp and tried some highly suggested items. People are right about the artichoke appetizer! Beer battered and lightly fried with garlic butter, whoever invented that needs a medal. The ahi tuna was amazing as well. The wings in their sweet and spicy sauce were sooo good too! We also got a chicken flatbread and it was okay, I don't think we would get it again, but everything was top notch. The service was not there unfortunately but the food made up for it. We had to hunt down our waitress a few times to get refills and order more items off the menu. We would have gotten more to try but decided to leave. Had to go to the front to pay since we couldn't find our server. It wasn't very busy so I'm not sure what was going on. read more

i just left DJ's after date night with my wife. I tried to use a gift card purchased by my employees on June 6 2023 as the name was changing from Pete's to DJ's and was told it was no good. We have been coming to this restauarant since opening up. We love the food and drinks...We were there for a late lunch 2pm. With that said..the place is filthy..Tables are sticky, the tables have build up on them and need to be scraped off and cleaned thoroughly. The womens bathroom is filthy. Hole in the wall, toilet paper dispensers are broken, cover broken off. The papertowel dispenser is also broken, cover broken off. I spoke with our waitress, her response... We told our server about these deficiencies..She advised that she has told the manager verbally and has sent him pictures.. apparently this has been this way for awhile! I advised her that she needed to get the owner involved..She advised that he is the owner!!! Unfortunately, I will not be going back. If the restaurent is dirty I cannot even imagine how dirty to kitchen is... I would have given this a zero but I had to give a star to write a review. read more

I have been to Pete's on two different occasions during a work related business. I have enjoyed both of my experiences. Both times our waitress was a young lady named Demi. The meal was fairly decent except for the portion size. I ordered the pastrami sandwich, which lists a 1/3 lb patty topped with pastrami. The patty was small. The service was dreadful though. They brought the incorrect burger for my son, then disputed about what he ordered. They eventually fixed it but then never checked to see if everything was fine or if we needed anything else. We have been ordering Pete's to go from Door Dash a ton this past year. We have most always had a great experience. (They all can't be perfect) They allow special instructions which is so needed when spending this kind of money on take out. I'll start with the good, we were seated right away and our server was friendly. The food was delivered promptly. Now, for the stuff that counts-the food quality tasted pre-prepared and charged a premium price. I'm willing to pay for outstanding food, but this, unfortunately, did not deliver. We had the sampler platter (mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders and shrimp)., fish and chips and the ahi tuna plate and paid over $72 for lunch that didn't make us want to return. I dined at this restaurant back in Oct of 2022, thinking it was acceptable. Unfortunately, the adage, "the past is the best indicator of the future," failed when learning afterward that the restaurant had changed owners. The server completely forgot one of our six entree orders. After a hiatus, the server finally came around and asked how we liked our dinners. This was when she learned one diner was never served and thus still waiting for her entree. I was served the worst Mai Tai cocktail I have ever been served. It tasted like orange juice blended with bananas, then poured over the rocks. My fried prawn dinner tasted closer to "pigs in the blanket" rather than the crisp, flaky coating I had excepted. Lemon wedges were not served with either the fried calamari appetizer nor with the prawns. After lemon was requested, that too was forgotten What was the final distaste to wrap up this evening was the discovery of an added tax on our bill of 4%. The owner titled the tax as "Kitchen Love," When I asked what this was for, the server explained it was charging a bit extra for the food cost, but I didn't have to pay this added fee if I didn't want to. read more

Ordered the combo appetizer specifically so I could try the prawns and the wife and kids could have the other goodies. They were really good. Haven't had prawns with a light and crispy coating on them before. Super tasty. As far as the entrees go, kids had basic pizzas, wife had creamy chicken pizza and I had what I want to call ale chicken but can't remember the name for certain. My wife and the kids enjoyed the pizzas and my chicken was killer. We ran across the place on a whim, went to bass pro across the parking lot and decided to grab a bite, quite a few choices right there and I must say way better than red robin which is in front of the place. I have good communication when I've called the store to speak to them to make sure the food is made for the instructions. DoorDash app does not allow for basic modifications at this location. The staff answering the phone each time I place my order has gone over and above doing it. Awesome job.
