AHS sent them out to address rusty water coming out of the water heater. In the first 2 minutes they told me unless it's leaking they won't cover it, which is not what AHS told me this morning. Started to feel uncomfortable as I've read other reviews about horror stories. Ask them to take the easy pay day and leave, which they did nicely. I'd rather pay for a new water heater with Links Plumming as they have been to my home before and trust them then deal with a uphill battle or argue with them. read more

Our home's water heater suddenly started leaking and making a dangerous-sounding noise when the pooled water around its base caused cavitation. We're talking serious sound, which sounded almost like a violent explosion was imminent. Although my home warranty covered most of the repair, DKH Plumbing really came through for us . Once authorization for the repairs was in, they dispatched Brett to our house and he quickly jumped on the job, suggested an upgrade from a 40-gallon tank to a 50-gallon tank, and efficiently and securely installed the new heater and removed the old one in about two hours. Brett is the kind of repairman that you hope shows up: he was extra quiet because of our sleeping baby, and texted as promised when he arrived so we could avoid setting off our barking dogs. In all, an efficient service call, fairly priced with courteous interactions with both the company reception and the service man. My friend recently had his mom's water heater replaced and the job took five hours and cost about $2,000. So by comparison, I feel lucky to have found these guys. I would not recommend DKH Plumbing. Fidelity home warranty assigned them, and while the person who came out was courteous, we had terrible service with the company. In total we spent over a month without a sink because of the service. Our first appointment with DKH Plumbing was scheduled December, 13, 2019. Our problem was finally fixed (a simple faucet replacement) January 28, 2020. It took the plumber returning to our house four times, and over a dozen phone calls and texts. Jamie, the scheduler, was quick to schedule an appointment with us. The plumber didn't have the part, and it took over a week to reschedule a visit. (Jamie never called back). When the plumber installed the part, the sink began leaking profusely. Despite the message that they say they'll return your calls within 24 hours, Jamie took an average of five days to call me back after I left an average of two text messages and two voicemails of increasing frustration. The plumber eventually returned to re-diagnose the (same) problem, which he couldn't fix that day. It took over two weeks (with another week of trying to track down Jamie) before the problem was fixed again. read more

Water Heater expired. DKH was assigned by American Home Shield. Tech wrote up $1730 Non-Covered Cost, which included $345 for expansion tank and $355 for recirculation pump. Note - I am on a well. I checked with two other plumbers. Both said same thing - 1) expansion tank isn't not part of system when house is on a well and 2) recirculation pump is fine and besides it's optional - not code. So I also made a visit to Nevada County Building Dept and showed inspector the DKH work order. Inspector said two second opinion plumbers were right and DKH had no reason to add the extra work. This company is a authorized service provider for American Home warranty. I have had 2 claims and they sent this provider who did not do any work but yet charged me service fees. The plumber rolled up in a huge truck but said he did not have a 0.25cent washer and would return the next week but never did. I would say they run a very unprofessional and scam business. I would never call these plumbers or recommend them to a friend. On reading other reviews it seems thats their modus operndi to not do any work. check out AHW claims or others read more

Worst plumber ever. We had a faucet handle that broke and our home warranty hired these guys. They came out three weeks ago and said they had to order a part. For three weeks we were calling to see if the part came in. They finally came back today. When the plumber said he was finished and I went back into the kitchen, it was ridiculous what I saw. We had a brushed stainless steel sink and this guy put like a shiny silver chrome handle on it. Plus the handle was smaller than the base so it did not fit properly on top at all. It looked absolutely ridiculous. I told him it was completely unprofessional what he was giving me and I was going to take video of it so the home warranty could see what an unprofessional job he did. He promptly took the handle back and left after arguing back and forth trying to tell me I told him I want metal even though I never spoke to anyone from this company only the home warranty. read more

Excellent service from Brian @DKH plumbing. My tankless hot water heater stopped produced hot water late Sunday night. I called DKH early Monday morning and Brian was here by 10:30am. Brian was able to fix the problem and hot water was restored. Based on the condition of the system he recommended a flush (probably not done for at least 3yrs) and we arranged a follow up visit. Whilst here I asked him to check out my drinking water filtration system, also not looked at for a while. When he came back for the tankless flush, he brought new drinking water filters and installed them at the same time. Easy to communicate with, both visits were arranged over the phone and they arrived at the time agreed. Good efficient work on site at a reasonable price. Didnt show up on time Didnt wear booties inside my house Asked me if I had the tools since he forgot to put all his tools in the bag since he was working on his house over the weekend. Was supposed to replace this piece . IT was coverd under a warranty company They were supposed to remove the stem and put in new seat and stem to stop leak:They said they would oreder this part weeks passed ... They didn't try to find the stem and match it and they told me it was discontinued ( It itsnt) Got one today... They only replaced the o ring ( Didn't replace the problmatic stem). However it's not and wasn't discontinued and leaked agian and this time my "real", quality plummer went and got the correct part as they should have when the first work was done .. And he installed it . When I called the company to explain this the owner Brian???? Called me after I already had spoken to the plummer that did the original work and should have replaced the whole part and agreed that yes he remembered doing that ... Brian, however was talking over me, not letting me explain the original situation and completely rude and defensive. Once I explained what actually happened he gave me a bunch of excuses and accused me of yelling at his tech... Which i didn't! He"s a total shister! Typical bad attitude and short cuts ..Any which way to save a buck ... And BTW it took them over a month to actually change the o ring while the fauset just ran and dripped. They do whatever is the quicker deal for them and definitely don't spend any time doing the job correctly and diagnosis is not thier stong suit thats for certain. Needless to say they kicked the can down the road and here it is 2 years later same issue ...They should have replaced this stem in the first place as they said it needed and I told them it needed and the Warranty Company agreed to pay for ...it would have been done and I wouldn't have had to hire a new company to do what should have been done by them in the first place. Give me a break! No excuses here Brian! I know what you did and you know what you did... So at least be a man about it and take responsibility for your company s mistake instead of making every excuse in the book and funny you were so prepared to argue instead of just listening to the full explanation of what acctualy occurred. Vendor dispatched by my home warranty company (FNHW). I've come to expect low rate service by contracted vendors, so I definitely was hoping for the best here. I communicated with DKH dispatch a few times (Jamie) and she was very helpful, and informative. I also called back to ensure the tech would be following covid masking protocols, provide a call ahead when they were en route and wear booties when inside. She made sure the messages were relayed and GUESS WHAT, the tech did just all that. I got a call ahead, tech was masked and prepared with booties. Ok, good start so far. The service tech here was Joshua. If I could him more that 5 stars I would. He was knowledgeable. professional and efficient. He didn't have to, but took extra time to answer ALL my questions and provide more insight for the educational points I was asking about. In all my years as a homeowner, this was one of the best vendor experiences. Having someone in your home is a personal deal, and it takes a special skill set to go into random homes, do the work and provide a super pleasant experience. They are contracted by my Home warranty company. My first experience with them was to replace our toilet flush valve. They requested pics before tech came out so I texted pics of the part the toilet brand etc. The tech came out on 3/29 (Tuesday)and looked at the toilet and said I don't Carry that part I'll have to order! Do you think? That's why I sent you pics!! So he said by the end of the week part should be in. So by Friday I called to follow up, no answer. Then I sent a text, no reply. So now it is Sunday April 5th and we woke up to a flooded garage because our hot water heater went out. Called our home warranty and found out they assigned DKH plumbing again! So I called and text and still no answer. In the meantime Home Depot came out same day and already replaced our Hot water heater with still no contact from plumbing company!! As for the toilet I ordered the part and will replace on my own! Seriously In these crazy times, I understand being swamped or low on employees but it doesn't take much effort to keep customers in the loop and to return phone calls and if you say you answer through texts on your Voice Mail than by all means REPLY!! The worst plumbing company experience we ever had. First American Home Warranty assigned this company to our emergency plumbing service request - this company couldn't come until three days later, well after we had to take care of leakage ourselves and pay out of pocket. For $75 service request call, the plumber couldn't even spend a couple minutes to listen to your problem nor take time to diagnose the mechanism that needs to be replaced! His attitude was irritated and super rude! Don't know why when we paid for his service call, it's not like he is doing it for a favor or free! What a horrible experience! UPDATE - I did finally receive my service charge reimbursement at the end of September, and my home warranty did say that DKH Plumbing did reach out to them (again, not CC'ed on that email) regarding the vague work orders, and my home warranty voided the service charge. For that, I'm grateful that DKH Plumbing did the right thing..It just took them 5 months.. Now, with that said - I really have no incentive to comment further, but I truly can't leave future customers to think Damon's response is accurate....because it is not. Damon is correct in that initially my wife accepted the cashout vs. the replacement. However, once I considered the 2 options (this is our first home warranty experience, so we had a learning curve at the beginning), due to lack of time (with kids), we decided it would be better to have DKH choose the faucet and do the install. I did proactively call Jaime, their secretary, to see if they would be ok with choosing a few models and calling/texting me some specs/pics of the various models so we can choose one that fits the parameters of the home warranty. Jaime said that was absolutely fine. That NEVER happened. DKH just showed up with a faucet replacement and to be honest, we're not a fan of it as it's nowhere close to the functionality of our original, but it wasn't worth dying on a hill, which is why I never brought it up...until now - since we apparently need to get to the truth based on Damon's response. All of that decided, as Damon pointed out, DKH came out and installed the faucet on 4/12.....and this whole issue wasn't resolved until late September. Does 5 months to resolve a paperwork issue seem reasonable? I'll let you decide. Here's the catch, my original faucet was a 3 piece set (separate faucet, separate handle, separate soap dispenser). The faucet and handle needed replaced while the soap dispenser did not. The "replacement" model had a combo faucet/handle and DKH used a "plug" for the 2nd hole (and just tightened the soap dispenser). All of this should have been noted in the original work order but was not - just simply "kitchen faucet replaced". So for Damon to say they did me a courtesy to plug the soap dispenser is inaccurate - they did the job that was required in successfully replacing my kitchen faucet (LIE 1). Here's the 2nd lie - when DKH came out the 2nd time, they in fact verified that the plug used on the 2nd hole was not a true seal and was in fact leaking. The plumber showed me right in front of my face and quickly resolved it (he had previously used a sealant that obviously didn't work, so he instead used a nut this time and it hasn't leaked since). So there is obviously a communication issue between the owner and his employees - never a good sign for the trustworthiness of a company. And furthermore, the plumber noted that a nut was used on the plug in this work order (2nd one), which is where my home warranty company was confused. The original work order mentioned "kitchen faucet replaced" but no specifics so when they saw a "plug was properly secured", they assumed it was a new issue when it obviously was not. It took me 5 months to get this damn point across and to attempt to get DKH to clarify this in writing. So no, I did not ask them to lie on reports (LIE 3), I simply asked them to clarify per the home warranty company. Probably the worst lie of all (LIE 4) - I NEVER received a call back from DKH plumbing and rarely did they answer my phone calls/voicemails I left over the past 5 months. And when I did speak to Jamie, she sounded confused as to why the owners hadn't contacted me. I was very polite on the phone (until the last voicemail - after 4.5 months, one could understand I hope). Finally, I receive a vague email from DKH stating they had contacted my home warranty and will notify when they hear back (ironically after my negative YELP and Facebook reviews). DKH never did notify me, I had to reach out to my home warranty a week or 2 later to finally resolve the issue. The reader can read my comment and Damon's and decide for themselves. I will say, I surely wouldn't have put forth this much effort after the problem has been resolved if there weren't so many inaccuracies and lies in Damon's reply. I just hope to save another customer/family from dealing with all this chaos, lack of communication, and frankly - some of the poorest customer service I've ever received. read more

I was not happy at all with my experience with DKH plumbing. So unhappy that I am writing a yelp review which I hardly ever do. The bottom line is the communication could have been way better. The FIRST time they were out I was told it was unable to be fixed as it wasn't CURRENTLY leaking, even though there was a hole in the ceiling were the water had leaked. Claims case closed, no resolution, out $75. Then Brett came over to my house, who was extremely nice, but did the typical over promise and under deliver. Since it was the SECOND time out for this issue I was told, by Brett, the plumbing issues were going to be fixed and he was going to come back next day to fix my problem, 10 days passed with no communication from them after calling repedetly, I was notified by my claims department that the work is not covered, case closed, no resolution out ANOTHER $75. I specifically told Brett I could remove grout around the drain so work was able to be performed within the scope of what was covered by my insurance, he seemed to understand what I was saying and I would like to think he thought it was a good compromise. After all said and done I was fed up with dealing with this through insurance. So I contacted Jamie to schedule someone to fix this hole in my ceiling with leaking plumbing so I can close this all out, I could care less if it was covered through home warranty and I just wanted the issue fixed. They sent a different person "Daniel?" to inspect the issue to give me a quote and solution to fix the problem. Daniel arrived around 8am took a look at the floor drain pipe, recommended cutting the screws off and fill with silicone..... Sounds like a Janky fix to the problem, but figured, cool this is definitely moving in the correct direction, sounds like Brett will be able to come back and fix this. Since they said they would knock some money off for my issues. After Daniel left I expected a phone call from DKH to schedule the repairs. Never heard from them, called once and left a voicemail with no call back. I would have loved to give them the benefit of the doubt, but all-in-all it was a TERRIBLE experience with this company. Everyone seemed friendly, but here we are 10 months down the road and I STILL have a hole in my ceiling with floor drain that leaks if it slightly gets clogged and no fix. P.S. the ONLY reason it has been pending this long was because AFTER the first visit from them they recommended I waited until the leak came back and open another claim. So I did what DKH Plumbing recommended and when I filed another claim it still got denied. If this company wanted to reach out to me with a solution, they know how to!! I gave them a chance through insurance and a chance outside of insurance. I told them I DID NOT CARE HOW MUCH IT COSTED I WANTED TO GET IT FIXED!! and NOTHING!! read more

I had a pipe that started leaking behind a wall. There was no water on the wall, in the garage, but water started to leak down by the concrete floor in the garage. DKH plumbing was sent out from the First American Home Warranty, and they cut a huge 3' by 5' hole in my wall. The pipe was rusted, so the claim was denied ("existing damage"). The guy who came out did not offer to repair any of the damage to my wall, and he said the pipe was a water pipe and their company could not even repair it out of warranty. The pipe was actually an air pipe going up through the roof. I had to pay to repair the pipe along with the wall damage from DKH. I will not use this company. *Crystal Blue Plumbing has since been to my home and did an excellent job. Use them! read more
