DHT is a shop that I've passed by numerous times on my way to HP Pavilion. My previous guy who worked on my car moved and I was not able to locate him, so DHT came on as an afterthought. Their quotes beat other shops that I had quoted. In the quote, Kevin explained everything to me - the type of parts used, the repair process, and some suggestions that will save me money. Now that's a refreshing change. Mechanics usually play the "pry money away from the wallet" game, but this one didn't, which added to the trust factor. This isn't my go to place for an oil change, but due to my laziness driving a couple more streets down I came here today. I only got an oil change after 1000 miles over due today, because MY CAR BATTERY DIED. My dad had to come to my school to help me jump start it. Having no experience what so ever with cars, I though my battery died cause I didn't change my oil! Found out, your battery is one thing and your oil is another thing. The two things have nothing to do with each other! Anyways. I came here for an oil change and the guy who helped me was really nice. He changed my oil in less than 20 minutes, then I heard him start my car. My battery died once again! I was like "I need a new battery huh?" He's like yeah. I'm like okay how much he told me $95. I needed to go get money, so I went to get money. He told me don't turn off my car while getting money, because if you do, you will need to find someone to jump start your car again. I came back and he changed my battery. The battery was a little more then what he thought it would be it turned out to be $120 I only had $115. He said its okay its just $5. :) Thank you so much!!! I feel so much better now that my car has a new battery and my oil is changed. SUCH GREAT SERVICE will be back. OH,this is going to be my go to place for an oil change now it's only $25! read more

Wonderful experience. My car was totaled earlier this year by an uninsured illegal Mexican alien and I chose to fix my car and get a salvage title. For this, one needs to pass a brake and lamp inspection. I called EVERYWHERE and this place was by far the least expensive. I even called the smog bureau (bureau of automotive repair) which is run by the government and I thought was supposed to help, but they told me there were no inspection places near my zip and then hung up. Thanks for the help, guys. So I drove the 20 minutes to DHT. I was greeted by a smily Asian guy who remembered me from our phone conversation. He said it would be an hour and a half so I walked down Alameda in search of food. I had just come back to the shop when they started looking at my car. The waiting room is small, has two decent chairs and 4 unsitable chairs. There is also a water cooler and a plant. The Asian man came in, told me I passed, and started working on all the forms he has to fill out. I dropped my keys off at 1:40 on a Thursday and left at 3. $65 out the door. Unbeatable. read more

Very disappointed in this place! And, I really wanted it like it - just moved to the area and it would be super convenient to have a place to take the car that is in close proximity to my residence. However, I definitely will not be back. I will say, aside from understanding next to no English, they all seemed nice. Except for an awkward first impression - stopped in on a Saturday afternoon to see how much it would be to get an oil change and smog test, and they were all sitting around drinking beer, and made it seem like I interrupted their party - guess I did, but I sort of figured they'd want the business. I digress... The main reason I won't go back is because they lost the key to my car, but won't admit it. Do I think they stole it? Nah, probably not. Just walk into the place and observe (the operation is a hot mess) - not hard to see how they could lose a key. The problem is, it's one of those expensive keys, that cost around $300 to replace. They keep saying they put it in the car, but then again, I don't even know if they understand the conversation that was taking place. Long story short, I took my car for a quick oil change, and now I'm down $300 to a lost key. Therefore, I recommend you find somewhere else to take your car, as I will in the future. read more

Started my day with a dead battery at the Whole Food parking. I called DLT so see if someone could check my car since the shop is close to WF. Justin was so nice to walk to the parking lot and jump my car. Later, he installed a new battery and in just a few minutes I was able to drive away. Great fast service! read more

Justin and his team are great! I had an unfortunate run in with the back end of a construction truck and needed a new grill and condensor on my 2014 Honda Civic.. Went in and Justin gave a very competitive estimate, including replacement of the condensor which other quotes didn't even include. Justin also quoted removal of some dents and dings on the car and delivered a great result. Not only is the damage repaired, but I got some annoyances fixed which was quite unexpected! These guys were super solid when it came to fixing my brand new GTI. They always kept me updated with where my car was at at each stage of repair via phone call/ text message. They even gave me a discount on my deductible. After all the repairs were finished, my car was returned with a fresh detail, inside and out. Don't let the other reviews dissuade you, everyone has bad days, including the people taking their cars into a body shop, which is an alien world for a lot of people. I can say that I am a customer for life with regards to this Auto Service Center! My Genesis passenger window regulator had expired. The dealer quoted me $840.00 as an estimate to repair. Advised me it would take 2 hours maybe more to repair. Justin at (DLT) repaired it at a fraction of the cost of the dealer and had my car ready within 30 minutes!! Dennis from Wheel Works on The Alameda referred me to this place to get my Brake and Lamp inspection for the DMV in order to re-register my salvage title vehicle. Just to be safe, I called a lot of other places in San Jose and San Francisco and looked up some coupons online to see how much this inspection would cost. There were coupons for a $100 or $80 plus cert. and tax. Man. It looked like the average price was $110. I took my car to DHT after getting a phone quote I was uncertain I heard correctly. I restated my question. Does it really cost $65? It seems too good to be true... YUP! $65 includes everything. Brake inspection, lamp inspection, certificates. $65 out the door. It's not TOO good to be true... They have so many people getting the inspection that even though you go on an unassuming Tuesday morning, you still face a 4 hour wait as I did. But that doesn't really matter to me. I just walked across the street to Bay Street Cafe where they have awesome coffee and food as well as free wi-fi. After sitting at the office, at Michael J's for 30 minutes, I was told they got a dent repair guy who can do it for $700. Frustrated I walked tf out and went to DLT. I got a quote from here at 500. Had a minor car emergency across the street from DLT Collision as I tried to park at Whole Foods (my Prius' bumper bib: 0 / Whole Foods silly high curb: 1). With said bumper under carriage bib tragging underneath, I eased my car the 15 yards over to DLT. They were extremely fast and helpful in screwing the bib back into place so I could hightail it to the Women's March two miles away. They even managed to get my grill back on, which I'd been carrying around in my trunk for four months (my Prius' grill: 0 / Driveway with silly high clearance: 1). If the rest of their services and offerings are as awesome as the work they completed on my car, they'll set the benchmark for awesomest auto repair experts ever. Came in for an estimate and the price was 500 bucks cheaper than the next closest one. They use high quality PPG water borne paint and many BMW and Mercedes go there for legit budget friendly body work. Highly recommended, may be even cheaper than Maaco! read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had in a lifetime car was using excess antifreeze and this was my quest. I ended up with a tune up and supposedly a new computer that has nothing to do with the fluids!!!! When I was told by Tam (Tommie) my car used that amount of antifreeze to the tune of 1 gallon of a week. I no longer wanted to do business with him anymore, but then my car was done at the price of $1700.00 and it is worse than before the service engine light has come on twice in the 10 days I've had my car service and when I took it back.
