I needed a bobbin holder case that was an unusual size and was unsuccessful ordering what I needed online. After reading great Yelp reviews I went there taking my machine with me. The look of the place is a hole-in-the-wall, appearing more like a warehouse. I was immediately helped and was in and out of there with the correct bobbin holder case within a few minutes. If I could give more than 5 stars, this place deserves it. I took my old Kenmore sewing machine to fix the light and power cord, my husband accidentally cut it while tryingvto fix the light. I was expecting it to take a few weeks to fix because this is how long it has taken with other place. I was surprised when the gentleman told me check back the next day and when I did they said it was ready for pick up. They must have oiled it or something but it runs super smooth. Plus it was very inexpensive, $23 for the repair and replacement bulb. Highly recommend this place, my go to for sewing machine repair. read more

This place has earned my business for life! I'm a novice at sewing, and I messed up my sewing machine. This place tried very hard to fix it, but there was one small function that still wouldn't work...so they didn't charge me anything! Even when I tried to tip them for trying so hard, the kind woman behind the counter wouldn't take it (although I made her). :) Their prices are amazing, too, and their selection is mind-boggling. My daughter was using my Brother 660 and found the bobbin was getting stuck. Since I'm clueless to sewing, I decided to take my 18 year old Costco special to this place because I wasn't about to buy a new machine (and during Covid - it's been a coveted item!) The man (owner?) behind the counter was patient and showed my daughter the adjustment. He spent 5 min showing and explaining to her. I was having problems with my sewing machine after taking it out of storage and it needed service.I found good reviews on yelp for this place so I decided to give this place a try. I called and was told it may take a couple of days to fix depending on their workload. I took my machine in on a Saturday and to my happy surprise their mechanic fixed it the same day! Judy at the front was also pleasant and made the transaction painless. :) also when you first walk in to this place its completely filled with wall to wall fabric and trims. This place is awesome. They fixed my Brother sewing machine in 24 hours and for $35!!! They also have the largest selection of trim I've seen in the OC for dirt cheap prices. I bought some fantastic purple 3" elastic for $2.50 a yard! You have to check this place out. read more

I hope people can find this review, the categories certainly won't help! Anyway, if you sew and want to find loads of zippers, elastics, interfacings, trims, thread, buttons, sewing machine attachments and gadgets and some fabrics at rock-bottom prices without going to LA, this is a great place. It ain't Jo-Ann's, so don't be put off by the dust, dim light and jammed interior. I think they mostly supply local garment shops, but they'll happily sell you what ever items you want. You can get the big cones of 2-ply serger thread in a zillion colors for a couple of bucks a cone. They also sell the tack-style buttons used on jeans for very good prices. It's quite the treasure-hunt so it's worth spending some time looking around. read more

Great little hidden gem! So many zippers for cheap! They have fabric (mainly jersey type), lots of notions, ribbon, elastic, and interfacing on a bolt (great prices), sold by the yard. Go here before Joann's or Hobby Lobby. I've also tried other privately owned Fabric shops in OC and this place by far is the cheapest. BTW when you drive up don't be fooled, it doesn't look like your typical storefront. read more

i look at the reviews and decided to go at My Long . i was very glad i did. i brought an old portable electrical sewing machine from circa 1950 that was not used for 30 years, to be cleaned and oiled and sure enough, one day later i could pick it up. that old baby was working like new. and i was only charged 25 dollars which was very reasonable. he could have bs me for more but didn't. that very honest and professional . he was nice also to show me how to put the cams and how it worked. and you can also find a lot of notions and such there . great place! read more
