I must say, the FFL Transfer Service that Nelson Ruiz offers through DMZ Sporting Gear is absolutely astounding. I highly recommend his FFL Transfer Service. Nelson is reasonably priced compared to others and quite proficient with the transfer process. The communication back and forth was superb, which enabled the entire process to go perfectly smooth and expedited with precision. It was a pleasure dealing with Nelson; he's an organized man of integrity that also shares his vast knowledge and quickly responds back to queries with refreshingly open and honest communication. I found dealing with Nelson much more personable and accommodating than dealing with a "Gun Store" that I used for my previous FFL Transfer Service and surprisingly, Nelson's fee is less too. It was an added bonus to be able to FFL my ample supply of ammunition, purchased to go along with the amazing 9mm Walther PPQ. As cheap as it is going though this guy, he works his FFL from his house, and is not very friendly at all, he wants to rush you in and out as fast as possible and I would highly recommend you find a better place to have your firearm received, I didn't like how he handled my shipment, he tossed the shipping box, and opened the firearm box without me there, he told me he had to log in the numbers from the firearm, well I told him the numbers are on the box and paperwork. Plus on top of all this BS, he didn't even offer me a receipt for the cash I give him for his service, very poor business skills on Nelson from DMZ. My advice is stay away from doing business with this FFL, even if his pricing is lower then anyone else, their is a good reason why, and I found out. Bad business call on my part. I gave this FFL home based DMZ guy a 1 star, but if I could give none I would. Customers should ask and tell him what your wanting cause he didn't listen to this customer. I saw Nelson's Mostly 5-Star ratings on Yelp and thought I would give him a try. His rates are the best around. After dealing with him, I completely realize why he does things the way he does them. If you are patient and have the time to make an FFL Transfer with him then do it. If you are the type of person that wants their purchase immediately go somewhere else. He has to open your purchase to verify what you have purchased, No he just can't take the paperwork and copy the information, They're firearms!!!!! Everything has to be legal and legit!!!!! I understand his business hours as he works from home. He can't have people coming at all hours during the day. Best price around from a professional source, be patient and understanding and you will be pleased, I was and will use his services again. DMZ CCW was an excellent experience for myself to better my knowledge on this particular subject. The class environment was at its best from comfortable seating to even in class snacks and drinks. Wonderful amenities period! The instructor himself is one of the best in my opinion, very patient and understanding, definite professional indeed. So wonderful that even after the training is over, he is happy to answer and help with any further questions and instructions. Absolutely keeping this business in mind and potentially for sure going back for the rest of my goals to be in its offer fields. Without question, the best possible experience I could have hoped for. The instructor was professional, extremely knowledgable and well spoken. I was never confused or felt like I was getting behind. The teaching style was easy to work with and as a result I not only learned a great deal but I truly had fun. The classroom is clean and well set up. I enjoyed and appreciated the refreshments and the fact that part of my fee included lunch. The class time went by quickly and was a breeze. Nelson is professional, friendly, and very efficient (i.e. forms that he needs to complete are already ready by the time you come saving your time, items are ready). I've been going to Nelson now for a little over a year. Not only is he the closest to me from the city, he's the most fair on pricing by far and is prompt to respond and answer questions. I haven't used him for gun smithing as he's paused that (for the most part) during covid but I'm sure it's top notch as well.
