After reading great reviews online, my husband dragged me here for lunch on a road trip (he didn't really have to drag me, it sounded amazing). Do-B's lived up to the hype! The building was a bit of a surprise to me as we drove up but it has been updated inside for a very clean & comfortable space that is quirky yet modern. The food is fantastic, and that's what counts most. My husband went for the blackened catfish po-boy and proclaimed it THE. BEST. po-boy he's ever eaten. This is the highest compliment! We read on the menu that their remoulade recipe is credited to a chef in Alaska, which is interesting. I ordered the Creole Gouda burger and it was enormous and absolutely delicious. A staff member (possibly owner) came by to check on us and laughed with me about the mess factor of that huge fried egg on top, but it was so worth it! Do-B's also gets points from me for having actual avocado on the burger, as many places list avocado as an ingredient and then slather on a little guacamole spread instead. This burger was over the top - but in such a way that was still delicious, rather than being "too much of a good thing". I tried a few of my husband's fries and those were top notch as well. I am new to Emporia, and someone recommended Do-B's to me. My fiance and I decided to check it out, and I am definitely impressed! I'm a burger fanatic, so getting a burger was natural for me. I had the BCB, and it was DELICIOUS. It literally melted in my mouth and was seasoned really well. The menu is a bit pricey, but it is worth it. Not only was the food good, but the owners came around to the table to talk to my fiance and I. He was interested in knowing what brought me to town, and he was very friendly. The BEST dessert !!! We got the snickers cheesecake and I'm not a snickers fan, they ran out of the blueberry / cherry / key lime cheesecake. Which is ok bc the snickers was to DIE FOR !! My daughter and I had to come to Emporia on the day the water main burst. We thought we were going to have to head out of town to find dinner but this place was open and the Yelp reviews were outstanding. Those Yelpers were right. This place is awesome. First you walk in and totally not what you expect. I remember when this was a DQ back in my Etown days so I was shocked to walk in and see how cute it is inside. They were swamped being the only place in town that was open and they seemed to be doing a lot of take out business so after we ordered we waited a long time for our food but it was worth it. My daughter got the chicken po-boy and I got a burger with blue and mozzarella cheese. The only thing I wasn't thrilled about were the onion rings. They were a little doughy, maybe a touch under cooked. My husband and I split a half lb Reuben philly, kids had cheeseburger and fish sticks with sweet Potato fries. One of the most kid friendly places I've ever been, so nice to see especially when we're traveling. They had great coloring area for the kids to keep them busy while we waited (which wasn't long). Excellent service, the folks at the counter were friendly, fast and courteous. They made a small mistake forgetting a milkshake from our order but rectified it in a fast and timely manner. The food is fast food fare, we ordered the shrimp po'boy and the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. The fries were overly seasoned for my taste, but that could be a one off. We will try this place again, but order the burger and see how that is, because the place was packed with happy faces and they were all eating burgers. Wow this place is awesome! Stopped on the way through from Oklahoma to Kansas City based on reviews and it was so good we stopped on the way back home too. I had the basic cheeseburger and seasoned fries and my husband had the double cheeseburger and onion rings the 1st time we stopped and it was great! I only ate 1/2 of mine ( a really good sized burger ! ) and put the leftovers in the fridge at my dads house...his girlfriend though it was something my brother had bought for my dad and dad didn't finish it so she ate it, then asked my brother to go there again for her ...but it wasn't local to them, and I lost my leftovers! Soo we stopped on the return trip and the girl on the phone said any burger can become a chicken sandwich so I ordered a basic cheeseburger as a chicken sandwich with mayo and tomato. I thought I was ordering a fried chicken sandwich but after the first bite I would have fought anyone who tried to take it from me! I think they browned the cheese on one side - WoW I'll ask what they do next time and might ask for that on both sides. They have a huge variety of sandwiches and ways they offer the toppings So give yourself some time to look at the online menu before you order if you like to try different things. I started to order online but could not find a way to order the extra meat patty on the double cheeseburger so we called both times. ( if you are reading this Do-Bs staff - please fix this on your online order system, everything else you can image is available to customize a sandwich online. ) the other reason we stopped to eat there, they have received Awards from many different publications so we called ahead about 20 minutes both times and just went through the drive through ( a afternoon and evening ) - it would likely be a little longer at noon or 6 pm time frame. Oh and I'm not a vegan but it looked like they have that covered too. And a creative / cute kids menu that looks like it would please any picky kid. when you are trying to find it, the sign is white and the building has the roofline of a barn.
