Incredible food! It was the best jambalaya with shrimp that I've ever had! The portions was generous. They even offered jalapenos on the side which made my bride of 27 years since she stole a taste! Took my mom out for her birthday and wanted something different so I chose this restaurant by the reviews. We weren't disappointed. I had the Philly cheesesteak and mom had the chicken Philly, my brother got a cheeseburger, cheese fries and hot wings. Everyone liked their food tremendously. Everyone was very friendly. Excellent meatless options for their burgers make this place a must visit for vegetarians. My wife had the Jayhawker with a garden patty, and I had the Creole Gouda with a black bean patty. Wow this place is awesome! Stopped on the way through from Oklahoma to Kansas City based on reviews and it was so good we stopped on the way back home too. I had the basic cheeseburger and seasoned fries and my husband had the double cheeseburger and onion rings the 1st time we stopped and it was great! I only ate 1/2 of mine ( a really good sized burger ! ) and put the leftovers in the fridge at my dads house...his girlfriend though it was something my brother had bought for my dad and dad didn't finish it so she ate it, then asked my brother to go there again for her ...but it wasn't local to them, and I lost my leftovers! Soo we stopped on the return trip and the girl on the phone said any burger can become a chicken sandwich so I ordered a basic cheeseburger as a chicken sandwich with mayo and tomato. I thought I was ordering a fried chicken sandwich but after the first bite I would have fought anyone who tried to take it from me! I think they browned the cheese on one side - WoW I'll ask what they do next time and might ask for that on both sides. They have a huge variety of sandwiches and ways they offer the toppings So give yourself some time to look at the online menu before you order if you like to try different things. I started to order online but could not find a way to order the extra meat patty on the double cheeseburger so we called both times. ( if you are reading this Do-Bs staff - please fix this on your online order system, everything else you can image is available to customize a sandwich online. ) the other reason we stopped to eat there, they have received Awards from many different publications so we called ahead about 20 minutes both times and just went through the drive through ( a afternoon and evening ) - it would likely be a little longer at noon or 6 pm time frame. Oh and I'm not a vegan but it looked like they have that covered too. And a creative / cute kids menu that looks like it would please any picky kid. when you are trying to find it, the sign is white and the building has the roofline of a barn. Came from California to visit my brother Lear who plays for the ESU hornets and he kept insisting we come here and try the Black Cat Po Boy and I'm so glad we did. It was so delicious I wish I could come back more often. There's plenty of seating and wasn't too busy when we came in. Service was superb and they were very friendly. If you're ever in emporia I recommend you stop by here and give them a try. If everything in the menu was as good as the Black Cat you definitely can't go wrong. read more

Stopped in on our way through town. The place was very busy at lunchtime on a Friday. The staff was friendly and helpful. It's a small place with the grill area open to the dining area, so it was quite loud. We decided it was too loud for our whole family to be comfortable, so we made our way to the picnic tables with patio umbrellas out back. It's a nice area and much quieter--just the sounds of the air conditioning units and the car wash next door. The food was delicious--burger, chicken strips, and side salads as meals. One in our party found the side salad too oniony--there was a pile of red onion to the side of the lettuce, and the flavor (even just sitting there, touching the lettuce) was too much. Would definitely order that without onion next time. There was no tomato on the salad (which I missed), and there was lots of bacon; some of the bacon was not crispy but easily avoided. The french fries were very fresh ("you could swear they just pulled those potatoes out of the ground ") and tasty. We ordered a chocolate shake, and when it didn't arrive with the food we went inside to inquire. The lady behind the counter said she must have forgotten to make it and would do it right away and bring it out to us. She did, and she brought a brownie to say "I'm sorry." BTW, the bathrooms are outside, so you'll need to ask for the keys at the counter. Overall, with the varied menu, delicious food, and excellent customer service, I would say this place is worth visiting again. read more

First of all, the people there working and serving could NOT be nicer! Sweet as could be, which was nice after a few long hours on the motorcycle in the summer heat! My husband and I were looking for a place to eat at on our way to Wichita and saw the amazing reviews on Yelp so we decided to stop by. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak and my husband ordered the Jayhawker burger with fries along with chicken wings as an appetizer. Do-B's is the perfect local burger joint. It's got that homey, old fashion style decoration inside with very friendly customer service. The food comes out quickly and tastes amazing! Stopped by Do Bs on the way through town. Hubby wanted a good burger and this place didn't disappoint! I had the cheeseburger with onion rings. Omgosh! Yum! You could taste the cheese and it was juicy and heavenly! Sadness was when it was gone! Hubby had the loosey. His only wished that it came fully loaded Ike a burger. It was a loose meat hamburger with cheese, jalapeño and onion mixed in. No lettuce and such and it was on a hoagie roll. Fries were awesome. The place was packed on Thursday at 1230 but it quickly cleared. Food wasn't super fast but well worth the freshness after we received it. Went here for lunch. Pleased with the double bacon cheeseburger and rings. Patties were thin and tasty. A bit overly greasy, but that come with the neighborhood. Rings were fresh with a good batter. Today my sons baseball team had an extensive rain delay to deal with. We needed a hot meal and a place to hang out for awhile since we are all from Northwest Missouri and KCMO. I suggested Do-B's after enjoying a meal here about a year ago. We popped in with nearly 20 people. They opened the doors early for us and made us feel welcome. Meals were cooked to order in a timely fashion. Food was great and I didn't hear of anyone that was disappointed. Service was excellent. They obviously care about their customers and the food they serve. Some of us noticed how exceptionally clean the kitchen looked which to me is a bonus. I go to Emporia KS once a week and this place has become part of my ritual when am in Kansas. I have only had one thing for the past year or so, hot wings.
