We stopped here on a snowy Friday night before we went to a show at the Lamp Theatre. We split a large salad and it was a very big salad and they brought us separate plates so that we could share it. Our pizza we enjoyed very much as well as we were big fans of wood fire pizza, we even took two slices home with us. I believe this restaurant is BYOB. We just had soda and water. We would definitely return if we were in the area. It was crowded inside and within a half hour of us being seated people were waiting for tables. They were also busy with takeout orders. Parking is metered on the street. But we parked a couple blocks away for free and walked down.

Second visit here, another pre-show dinner before seeing a act at The Lamp Theater. So convenient to park here and then take a leisurely stroll after dinner to the theater. Of course they don't take reservations so we were unsure if we'd get a table , but it was not problem. I think the majority of their business is take out judging by the steady stream of people through the door. To that end, there was only one waitress on duty for the whole restaurant, but she did take care of us very well. The pizza was delicious again and my husband thought it was the best Margarita he's had lately. He noted the crust had "leopard spots" (little burnt spots) which makes it especially tasty. It's really great that they only have two prices for small or large pizzas with out extra charges for toppings. The same goes for salads. One price and you can have asa many veggies as you want! We sat in the addition that night. Kind of a sparse industrial vibe, but it's a pizza shop! As long as they keep such reasonable prices, I don't care! I want to come back and have a sandwich next time!

This pizza is beyond thin. Nothing like the pizza here last 5 years. Spoke with the manager. He said depends on who spins the dough. Very disappointed. No offer for replacement or refund.

Had the 1972 Pizza. Amazing. The dough is delicious. Flakey crust and thin but not too thin. Great balance. Found out that special dough is make locally with some special ingredients. Went there for the first time last week and absolutely loved it. We got take out pizza and we were super impressed with the entire experience. The place is smaller but the wood fire ovens and the ambiance was stellar. The service was also great. We will definitely come back!

Thought this place was way over rated.Pizza was only average. A lot of better pizza places in Westmoreland county. Thought the place was kind of cold inside too while dining! May go back may not!! read more

Great food especially the pizza but the sandwiches are fabulous as well as is the burger. The best part are the people. Very friendly, attentive, and respectful! Very welcoming place with great food. ONLY downside is very small but the staff makeup for the cramped space. read more

Tried it for the first time after a youth basketball game and it was delicious. Friendly staff greeted us at the door and made us feel welcome. Ordered two pizzas and they were cooked perfect, not burnt on the bottom. We'll be back the next time we're in the area. read more

Been coming here since they opened. It's 2 min from my house so I might be biased but it's amazing pizza with all fresh toppings which is a must. No one likes things from a can! Great staff and consistent product. Everything on the menu has been good. The sauce isn't too acidic like some other places and the crust is the best around! Perfectly charred. Can't beat the quality in the area. read more

Heard nothing but good reviews about Do Wood Fire. So my wife and I decided to give it a try. Pulled up to the front and parked. The outside was clean and looked great. The smell from the wood fire oven was outstanding. I could smell it before stepping out of the car. Walked in to notice a clean and friendly atmosphere. The walls decked out in real wood paneling. The staff was exceptional and very nice. And the food looked and smelled great. Ordered a large with pepperoni and steak pizza and a steak dowhich. That's were the good ends. Get home and my wife and I sit down to eat. Looks can be deceiving though. Not that the flavor was bad, but there was no flavor at all. The steak had absolutely no flavor. Their was barely any pepperoni and it was a bit over cooked. The sauce was the only thing on the pie with any flavor. Yet seemed to taste like straight tomato paste and not pizza sauce at all. My wife's dowhich was also bland. A little marinade would go a long way. Growing up in NY it's hard to find pizza for my taste down here. Just moved to the area from Kennywood area and was hoping to get a good pie. Nothing against anyone working there but we will not be returning. We will just have to keep looking for the right place for our taste in pizza and steak sandwiches. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped in for the first time last weekend for dinner. We ordered the 8-cut "1972 Pizza", drinks and side salads all for under $20 bucks. The pizza was "ONE OF THE BEST" Wood Fired Pizza's that I ever had. The sauce, toppings, cheese and the crust were OUTSTANDING! The salads had a nice mix of leafy greens (no boring Iceberg here) and a very nice fresh taste.The staff was super friendly, the restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was nice and comfortable. Can't wait to go back and try something else from the menu. This is now our "To-Go-To Place" in Downtown Irwin. read more

There's a McDonald's there. There's a Denny's right next to the same parking lot and when we pulled into what I was hoping would be a Chinese place and it says Asian cuisine, but right underneath the sign of Anytime fitness in a little strip in a back corner of a parking lot so I wasn't holding out any expectations of something that I could be reviewing for the first time as a five star. Not only was the place fabulous but they give you warm towels to wipe your hands off and prep yourself for the meal. I give you a typical fried noodles with some dipping sauce and that's always a treat when you come to a place that's you know that you're hungry placing an order I always get general TSO and my wife always gets either bird nest or fried something or other, and we both placed our orders food came out very quickly on better China we sat and looked at the plates. Two bowls of rice came with it one for her dinner one for mine and there's a cute little silk flower tucked into the food that we were about to eat really made the presentation that much better so I ordered the all white meat. I was not disappointed the sauce flavor. It was just wonderful just enough spice to say that it's spicy and the meat pieces were just fabulous cooked a perfect perfection. It was in certainly deep fried, but always looking for something that you know not too dry. Or not chewy. These pieces were just fabulous so I swapped out some of the my chicken for my wife's beef and broccoli and we both enjoyed a little bit of each and what a fabulous time we sat and were able to chitchat for an hour or so and just a calming affect that the restaurant itself.

I LOVE this place! Yeah, it's just a small pizza joint, but these guys know what they are doing. When you walk in, you're immediately hit with the smell of the wood grill. It's not a bad thing, but is a reminder of how cozy it is inside. Before you notice this, however, you're greeted by one of the friendly staff members, who are always very helpful and attentive. I've had one of the best dining experiences at this shop. No, really. Any time we have questions about the menu or have any additional requests, the servers are always quick to help. My drink is never empty, and I never feel like we've been abandoned (which happens at other places more than we'd like to admit). On top of the friendly servers, one of the owners seem to be ever-present at dinner time, and always check to make sure the food meets our expectations. This is a nice touch; you don't get that type of attention everywhere you go. The pizza is delicious, and comes out very quickly. One of our guilty pleasures is the steak and bacon combo we're able to get--delicious! It's a great, meaty, salty combination that doesn't always come to mind, but should. I'm very glad they turned the outdoor area into an extension of the dining room, since it can get very busy here on the weekends when the weather is nice. Parking is free and plentiful in the lot connected to the building, and it's relatively easy to find. Word on the street is that these guys are opening a burger joint around the corner--can't wait! read more

Must have caught this place on a bad night.... Heard it was good so we gave it a try. Had a pizza and one of the DO wich things. The pizza was burned to a crisp. I know these pizza's are different but it was burned. You don't get your money's worth that's for sure. They aren't cheap. The DO wich or whatever you call it was a big piece of "dough" with very little inside to actually call it a sandwich (or DO wich). I asked to speak to a manager and was met with hostility by the man that was helping us. All I wanted an explanation is all. oh well. We won't be back, there are many other good pizza places around town, I would avoid this one. read more

After a great first visit to this place, my next two experiences have not been so good. I visited this place on a Sunday two weeks ago and they seemed to be out of the majority of things on their menu. I thought it was a one time thing. Yesterday, I ordered pizza to go and starting traveling there to pick it up. Ten minutes they called saying they were out of what we ordered. Whoever manages this place needs to either update the menu or make sure the food items are available. read more

This is the BEST place to get pizza!! The staff is super kind and the food is outstanding. I came here on my 16th birthday and staff was so awesome and welcomed gifts and even treated me to a giftcard! Highly recommend it for lunch or dinner!! read more
