A hippie dippy tea spot. They take tea seriously. They brought out a book that was literally a mini binder full of tea options and descriptions. I can't recall the name of the tea we had, but it was a fermented tea that was stronger than others. We were tired and asked for the highest caffeine content, and we woke up! We also were able to utilize the leaves for at least 4 or 5 pours of the little tea pot. The whole process of how the tea was served was fascinating. This was truly a unique and fun experience. I don't know that I would have gone here on my own, and had a local suggest it to us, but I am so glad they did. For the real Ashland experience I felt like this place was the icing on the cake. For me it summed up the feel of this quaint town with a deep connection to the earth and nature. read more

Probably one the worst bubble tea I've ever had. Moving to Oregon from the Bay Area, I know what real bubble tea is supposed to taste like...definitely not this. I ordered a Jasmine Green Milk Tea and it just tastes... bland. Like a combination of just water and milk. And they charge $6 for a small 16oz milk water? Ridiculous. So disappointed. I'm a bit of a tea snob, and am happy to say this place is wonderful. I'm picky about my teas, both green and black, quality and preparation. I have visited tea plantations in Taiwan, India, Nepal and have friends who own teashops and import and wholesale tea. Too often I go into a tea shop and find the tea is prepared carelessly, in the wrong vessels, at the wrong temperature, for the wrong amount of time. Both teas my partner and I had here were exceptional. In fact, the 2nd flush Darjeeling was one of the best I've ever had, with wonderful muscatel roundness. I also enjoyed chatting with the staff, and appreciate how they experiment with the brewing of their teas to find just the right timing and temperature. The lunch snacks we had were also excellent. Very enjoyable experience. Staff was great, the menu is a veritable bible of tea information, and what we had was delicious. My only nit is that both of our teas (a Moroccan mint and a Rooibos Chai Masala) could have been hotter to start, and cooled far too quickly. For the Rooibos perhaps just heating the clay pot in advance? The mint tea I'm not sure how to keep hot, but hopefully a solution can be found. Had the privilege of stopping by this cozy little shop with a few friends during my short stay in Ashland. I was initially worried about the cost after entering, but quickly found out that everything was priced very reasonably. The menu seemed intimidating but turned out to be well organized and informative; something for everyone. The boba was too hard (more so than I've ever had), there were only like 5 flavors to choose from, and it was way too watery, basically flavorless. When I asked the lady if they had coconut flavor she looked so confused like she didn't even know that existed. This is a great little lunch spot when visiting Ashland. I went here several times over my 5 day stay in Ashland. The very first time we went was near closing. I had the rose black boba tea and it wasn't the best. The flavor was ok, not as good as other places but the boba was mushy like it was over cooked. I went back the next day and wanted to give the boba another try and it was great. I had the matcha this time and it was really good. They have a nice selections of teas and milks under the boba menu. They have a huge selection of tea which was overwhelming but looking through it there is definitely something for everyone. The food: the food was really really good. All vegetarian options that could be made vegan minus the eggs or cheese. The second day I went I had the hummus plate and it hit the spot for a light lunch. The third day we went I tried the lentil dahl with some pita on the side. Coming from the bay area, I was disappointed to hear there was only one place that served boba up here. I came in, and was helped immediately and they explained to me how the menu worked and wow, a 50+ page menu. They do a great job giving you the time you need to decide what you want. This place is very specifically a tea house, so if you're looking for a millennial bubble tea joint, this offers bubble tea, but the tea is key, not the flavorings or the frilly junk that bubble tea places offer. The decor is calm and dark on purpose. This is a great place to come when you want to chill, breathe, and sip some amazing tea. They provide a binder full of teas with accurate and entertaining descriptions. The food is also quite good...I cannot get enough of the mezze plate or the buckwheat spiral scone. AMAZING! We stopped to grab a bite to eat and some wonderful tea to drink as we drove home to California from Oregon. Our matcha tea was fantastic and the miso soup, veggies, and avocado toast were to die for. Definitely worth the prices, which really aren't horrible at all. We left with pu-er tea tablets and kava to try at home, as well as a TO DIE FOR coconut chocolate chip cookie (vegan, gluten free) for the road.
