Very small place that is not far from the highway. Small menu, but a good variety to cover many different tastes. Very reasonable prices on apps, pizzas, and sandwiches, however dinner menu looks to get a little pricey. Very good selection of craft beers for a small location, including several house brews. House beers were nothing spectacular, but very drinkable. I had the fried catfish po boy, and was very pleased with the large piece of catfish on the sandwich. If traveling past Beckley, WV I would recommend as a great place to grab a bite. read more

I am not able to rate the food because we didn't get that far. We stopped here because we love to try nano and microbreweries when we travel. We walked in and the young lady/hostess? I am assuming this was her role, she was fiddling with the computer system with one hand and had her electronic cigarette in the other hand. We stood there for about 5 minutes and then got her attention, she asked how many and we said two, she was obviously annoyed for some reason. She took us around the corner to a small table , she tried to shove another table out of the way and said this is all we have right now and walked away. The table was sticky and visibly dirty but we sat down thinking we would just ask for a rag when someone came back. We waited for 10 minutes and no one came back. We got up and walked to the door and still saw no one. If she would have said anything to us about them being short handed or anything we would have patiently waited but she said nothing and she was just rude. Hopefully this was just a bad day but I would never go back! read more

For a small casual brew pub restaurant, the food here was gourmet. The king crab and smoked Gouda fondue was incredible served with French baguette toasts. We shared the Mediterranean chicken entree. This was also excellent as were the sides of grilled asparagus and fresh green beans with bacon. We had a very good Caesar salad as well. They had a good selection of beer brewed in house including an excellent dark porter. The prices are very reasonable. If we are ever in Beckley again we will certainly eat here again! read more

We were seated right away at the time of our reservation which I appreciate. Our server was Lacy and she was perfectly efficient. Last time we had the Cuban pork, black and blue filet, and the feta and pear salad. This time I had the Thai chicken pizza and I loved it. My wife stuck with the black and blue which was better this time than lady, and there was nothing wrong with the last one. We tried the cranberry and walnut salad and it was very good. We finished by sharing a bread pudding with our cohorts. The bread pudding wasn't my fave, that's just me being honest. The others seemed to love it though- so maybe it was my problem. The Thai pizza is pretty craveable and will be my go to. Anyway, I'm pretty happy this place is in Beckley. Cheers! read more

I had the wheat beer and my wife had an IPA, both were delicious craft beers. We had a fried cheese goat cheese appetizer, also delicious. The Carolina BBQ wings were cooked perfectly and had a great flavor. My wife had the cheesesteak, very good. If I'm ever in Beckley again, I'll come back. read more

I was here back in September while I was in from Virginia Beach to see my sister. It seemed like a neat little joint - it's an older house and it even more or less looks like an older house inside, just with restaurant tables and chairs. Pretty cool. Our waitress was very friendly and nice.... We recognized her from a bar we had been at the night before. The beer selection was eclectic and they had a selection of craft beers to choose from, which is always a plus in my book. I started off by ordering the fried goat cheese appetizer, which was very tasty. It had a crispy breadcrumb crust, with soft, warm and tart goat cheese inside. They served it with toasted red peppers and some baguette slices to smear it on. Yummy. But this is where things took a downturn. They offer a "build it yourself" Flatbread Pizza. It comes with cheese and sauce and you get to pick three toppings. I picked capers, kalamata olives and prosciutto. Sounds terrific, right?? Wrong!! The pizza came out with this half inch thick slab of cheese on it, which for a flatbread pizza, is WAY TOO MUCH. I could see that much cheese on a double deep dish Chicago style pizza pie, but on a thin crust.... It was horrible. And I LOVE CHEESE!! It was already starting to cool off and so the cheese was turning sort of rubbery. The pizza was sliced into 8 or 10 small squares (two people could have shared it). I ate one small piece and decided it was not good at all. I never thought I would say something had too much freaking cheese! My sister tasted it and agreed. I never send things back or ask them to take it off the bill, but since I only ate basically a couple of bites, I did not want to pay for it. The waitress was very gracious in taking it back to the kitchen. She came back shortly thereafter and said the owner would only take half off the bill. I found that ridiculous as I didn't even eat any of it and I had also ordered drinks and a pricey appetizer. It wasn't like I was trying to get a free meal. Wow. Two bites and you pay for half of a disgusting pizza. I found this to be bad business and I would not go back here again. So, I am giving it two stars because of the unprofessional way the owner runs his restaurant, and because of the bad entree. Those are big knocks. The waitress was very nice, the beer selection was varied and the appetizer was tasty. That's what saves it from one star. I did tip the waitress nicely. Food isn't too bad.... Fried goat cheese was cold..?? Eggplant parmesan was burnt on top, plate as hot as hades for 30 minutes, and tomato "water" on eggplant parm was embarrassing. Went 2nd time...and eggplant parm had been taken off the menu... caprese pasta not bad, but tomatoes were out of season, so tasteless. I'm really hoping for some exceptional food...yes, here in Beckley... ! Both times I've gone service has been ridiculously, endearingly slow. Please don't make me ask to refill my water! If there were more stars, do a would get them! This place is absolutely amazing. Great parking, great service and delicious food. They brew their own beer which is equally awesome. I had the walnut cranberry salad which was so good I kept going and got the crab cakes. They were great and the asparagus was the best I've ever had. So glad to see that Beckley has a non-chain restaurant that is charming and delicious! We visited on a Saturday evening and were early to arrive. The restaurant quickly filled up so you may consider reservations. They had a great craft beer selection and my husband enjoyed his selection. We each had sandwiches - a turkey reuben, the club, and a cheeseburger. All were delicious and we tried different sides - the chips, the fries, and soup. Thumbs up on everything being cooked perfectly! We chose a table away from the windows as it is in an old house and it looked like the tables close to the windows could be drafty. The decor and background music were nice. We would definitely go again on our next visit to Beckley. read more

Dobra Zupa's is a small, quaint house turned into restaurant. We were greeted by a friendly waitress and seated in a section with plenty of privacy which was nice. The menu is simple, but it does offer a variety that should have something for everyone. However, my meal was not good. I had a tomato soup that was ok, and the chicken marsala that had very little flavor except for a strange after taste. My stomach then turned as a result and I felt awful for the next few hours. My girlfriend enjoyed her meal without ill effect (she had the salmon plate), but also felt it wasn't anything special. Don't think I will be going back here unfortunately. read more

Found this great local place on yelp. Had great reviews so we backtracked from our hotel to try it out. Restaurant was in a beautifully restored home in a somewhat residential area. The atmosphere was lovely. It had a full bar area we could see but didn't visit. Extensive beer selection. Decent wine selection. My husband had the Crab Risotto which he loved. My son had a hamburger and it was served in ciabatta roll he rated it a 7 out 10 because of temperature. I had a fried green tomato BLT and it was amazing. All our food arrived hot and delicious. Server was great but a little slow on keeping my glass filled but in his defense I was very thirsty. Overall it was a great dinner. read more

Great little place in an off the beaten to death path. We stopped while traveling through based on many of the other Yelp reviews and we were not disappointed. I must say the sweet basil vinaigrette was fantastic. We both had steaks that were grilled perfectly as ordered. Having the filet on the risotto was genius as it was some of the best risotto we've ever had. Because everything was so good, including the roasted asparagus and the green beans, we decided to share the salted Carmel cookie skillet with ice cream. Again, not disappointed. Exactly what we needed and wanted in the middle of a long road trip. Quick and easy access off of 64. The food was excellent. I had the Mediterranean grilled pita. The pita was super soft and everything was super fresh and the homemade tzatziki was perfect. The restaurant is in a beautiful old house and the staff was really nice. The waitress was nice, but i got the feeling she was waiting on a lot of tables, it took awhile to get our drinks. Turns out they didn't have a bartender on staff so the waitresses had to our their own drinks!? On a Saturday night, i do feel like they should have a bartender on staff. Here's what our table ordered: House beer flights - These were not my glasses of beer. Although the Amber Ale wasn't too bad. Although i think it's great that there is someone bringing this to Beckley. Crab Fondue - This was pretty good. Fried Green Tomatoes - These were pretty good and the remoulade that complimented the tomatoes, I would have liked the breading to have a bit more seasoning. Chicken Marsala - I didn't eat this dish but the feedback seemed like it was average. I got the Black and Bleu - I enjoyed this and thought it was a good palet of flavors. Crab Risotto - My husband got this dish and said it was very bland, some additional spices or something to cut the texture (i would maybe suggest aparagus maybe red peppers in the risotto may have saved this dish) Crab stuffed Salmon - this was the special they were running - My father got this dish and said the fish was over cooked. So my father and husband are huge carrot cake fans, so they ordered the carrot cake. The cream cheese icing was spot on. The cake however still good, did not taste at all like carrot cake, they put a lot of pineapple in it and it hardly had any carrots. It was a little disappointing. My girlfriend and I stopped by here after getting off work as we have several times in the past and we have been noticing the food has been going down hill but liked the setup of this old home.But nothing prepared us for this visit it started off with a long wait to be noticed to be seated we had to look around we found our waiter he acted very rude.We was seated order our food and drinks waited about 5 minutes for our drinks was getting irritated a bit so I went to the bathroom that is right beside the kitchen seen our waiter on his phone not getting our drinks and he was back there cursing and laughing with kitchen staff.And one point in time I heard the lords name in vein.Its a shame that despite being right next to a Catholic Church they would assume that there customers would have faith.I was already very mad at this point we waited a extra 15 minutes for our food.I had ordered the catfish sandwich my girlfriend ordered philly cheese steak.And was shocking to taste it mine tasted so fishy even for fish like it had been out all day at room temperature and was rotting only took me 2 bites before feeling sick.I asked my friend said hers tasted of old dry beef jerky or like shoe leather.At this point I new that our experience could not get any better it was by far the worst experience of food ever and at these expensive prices is ridiculous.No doubt In my mind it wasn't frozen reheated food.And I have talked to several of my friends that has had the same experience I wish I could give it less then one star I will never be back and they should be ashamed to call that food and for the language and blasphemy that happened.Decided to check out there face book page strange to know how everyone gave it 5 stars like they was friends of the staff and owner they are rating there own page and or deleting bad comments.Goes to show they hire anybody off the streets very disappointed and dissatisfied will tell my friends read more

It can be a little hit and miss. For example, I got the pastrami. Meat was good, but a dab under seasoned and the mustard had WAY too much horseradish in it. When they hit it right, like with the black and bleu steak, they're as good as anybody in WV. Shit tons of good beer, great staff. read more
