The noodles are kinda thick and chewy and just perfect. The candied bacon is the best of anywhere I've been and we have ordered it many places. Today the manager, Celeste, was so extra sweet and brought us a free drink that the bartender accidentally made an extra of. I loved it so much I will definitely order it next time we come! It was almost like it was meant to be: 1) my friend called me right when I was in front of this place 2) the purple garage is conveniently located in front of the restaurant 3) Recent Yelp reviews :) We had the obligatory candied bacon and guacamole with sweet potato chips. I decided to go with the rigatoni with the 1 lb meatball. I was feeling like "Woman vs Food" today. While I am not a fan of sweet bacon I definitely enjoyed the bacon. The guacamole tasted fresh and the sweet potato chips were a good combination. Alright...my rigatoni and 1lb meatball. Guys! My meatball got a lot of attention when people were walking by the table. It definitely was the best part of my meal. It's not a normal size meatball. The sauce was a little sweet, but the meatball had good flavor. I ALMOST finished the meatball off. Doc B's is one of my favorite dog friendly spots at the Domain. The heated patio is comfortable and their service is usually impeccable. Our waiter was funny and super helpful. We ordered the kale artichoke dip which is not part of their menu but the waiter recommended it to us. All I have to say is SO MUCH cheese! It was decadent and every bite felt like a warm hug. It's served with chips and salsa, so you can't go wrong. We ordered the filet with the smashed jalapeño potatoes and the bbq ribs with the coleslaw. The sides were as good or even better than the protein portion of the meal and trust me, the filet and the ribs were pretty darn delicious. Always loved Doc B's, but today's visit was a bit disappointing. It was a Sunday around 5:30p, not too crowded, we were sat rather quickly. Service was a bit slow to start, but improved as the visit went on. There were gnats and flies circling around our table the whole time. They kept flying in our faces as we tried to eat. I got the cheeseburger with kale slaw (5/10). The cheeseburger was saturated with ketchup and didn't taste good at all, the kale slaw was smothered with the dressing. My friend got the Carnitas sandwich and didn't enjoy it at all (6/10), said it was missing bbq sauce. Going to take a break from this place for now. read more

We each had a cocktail, I had the Crazy Beautiful and spouse had the cherry old fashioned. Their draft beer menu said it was locql craft, but I was disappointed when I heard the choices. The first two listed were definitely not local or craft. Don't forget to make reservations-we went on a Saturday night (with reservations) and overheard wait times of an hour or so. The overall ambience is like an upscale bar, low lighting, red glass on the bathrooms that seems to glow in the light-although it can be very hard to see if a bathroom indicator is green indicated vacant or red due to the low lighting outside the bathrooms. I live in Northern California and consider myself quite the foody. My daughter and grandson live in Austin and I've been here several times, always trying some place new to eat. I must say, this is hands down the best place I've eaten in Texas so far. The ambience is lively, hip, and modern. There's a nice, heated outdoor section as well as a an elegant indoor section that creates a mood of being somewhere special. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was AMAZING!!! My grandson (who is 6 and has quite the picky pallet -think Mac & cheese and plain pizza) gobbled up the teriyaki chicken wings. He told me that he would eat the bones if he could. I had the 6 oz Petite Fillet that was paired with crispy jalapeño potatoes & housemade steak sauce. The steak came out cooked to perfection (medium rare, of course), and the potatoes were an exquisite compliment. The sauce for the potatoes was not overwhelming, and was perfectly balanced. To finish the night we enjoyed their homemade Oreo Ice Cream. Absolutely wonderful. I will definitely be back. Next time, I'm bringing my wife, daughter, and her friends. We arrived during happy hour so I ordered a glass of sparking rosé, because why not? :) Our server was kind and attentive and gave a few recommendations. She also was very patient with our party, which included an 8-year-old with a balloon. My friend ordered the wok bowl with noodles, and her husband and I ordered the wedge burger, which came with candied bacon and a sunny side up egg. Delish! He had the fries and I had the kale slaw - the kale slaw was amazing and may have been my favorite part of the whole meal. The restaurant has a chic interior with a shaded patio and fire pit. Unfortunately, the kitchen lost our ticket so we waited a little over an hour for our food. After speaking with the manager, she kindly offered to have the bill for our drinks and dinner taken care of. The chef also came to our table to apologize for the inconvenience, which we appreciated. The guy hounded my peer about the tip she left. He grabbed the receipt right away and said her tip was ridiculous and said he had a long day and after dealing with a large table he expected more and what she gave was ridiculous. I ended up sitting in the outdoor patio area which was very nice and they had plenty of fans to keep it very comfortable outside. The inside of the restaurant is great also with a bar and plenty of tables. It is a lot louder inside which is what you would expect in most restaurants. The atmosphere and locations of both the Dallas and Austin restaurants are great! Food is decent but I'm a Bloody Mary connoisseur and whatever mix they use is disgusting. I have no idea who would drink it so not sure how they continue to serve it. I made the mistake of thinking the Austin location may mix it differently but I was way wrong! It's way too thick and salty for me. And before you say ask them to make it differently to your liking they can't. It's a pre/made mix. The place has a cool vibe. It's also appears very clean. I do feel that service and food wait time are pretty slow. While we were there, there was a table across from us that came in and ended up leaving about 15 minutes later because no one greeted them. Our waiter was a super nice guy. We ordered Mac and cheese for the kids as soon as we sat. About 10 minutes later we ordered for the adults. About 20 minutes after that, all the food came out at the same time. The idea was to get the kids food out first because they eat more slowly and well it gives them something to do. Unfortunately, everything came out at the same time. However, our server took the Mac and Cheese off the bill - heck we didn't ask or even complain. So though that was cool. The MaC and cheese itself is really good. I'm surprised the kids liked it because it didn't come out of a blue box. I ordered a cheese burger and the burger was quite great. My wife orders some Asian noodle type dish that was ok. I got some severe Gi issues right after I ate. Those took me about 48 hours to recover. Now, I'm not certain what it was because my son had half my burger and I had a good portion of the kid's Mac and cheese and they were all fine. So I'm not quite sure what it was, but it was not fun and I was the only "lucky" one. It's a cool place and they probably ( like most places) need more wait staff. I am giving 3 stars because service was slow and someone else waited 15 min and then left without being greeted.
