Ordered the calamari which was interesting -- not breaded, dressed in a tomatoey Szechuan sauce which was tangy and spicy (and a bit oily). Ordered the chicken mousse that you spread on some toasted rye with some pickled onion and mustard. Tasted ok. Wife ordered the pork belly which tasted ok if a bit over cooked and chewy. Also she got the braised greens that were overwhelmed with lime, watery and chewy. Got the smash burger that was fair. Side of fries were mediocre. Got the milk shakes which were runny and thin. We hit up most open places on mountain road and this one is not a standout, similar menu here and most all the bar-restaurants- smash burgers, wings, pork belly something, beets or kale salad, the menu is very predictable on this road We tried the pork belly, good stuff Beet salad, marinated beets, not sure with what, they tasted fresh out of a delmonte can tossed with some creamy goat cheese and a twig of dill to fancy-it...Wings, your usual along with fries Disappointment in the chorizo no chorizo mussels- huge chunks of spicy tomato and 'grilled' bread... the baguette was soft and had a tiny grill mark, but didn't stand a chance in the so spicy not layered flavorful broth Meh Plus the drinks are weak, which loses a star for me! Some items on the menu are gluten free but they did not have gf bread for my burger but it didn't ruin the meal. The cesar salad was yum and my husband enjoyed the fries. Mostly great food - cheddar fritters were awesome but they only gave me 4 small fritters for 12.00...even if I had not shared them, I still would have wanted one or two more. The food, while delicious, was very overpriced and a small portion size. For example, I got my burger on a huge plate and it was the size of a slider. I am not from the area, but most restaurants will serve fries with their burgers but here you had to pay an extra $9 for them. We ended up going out to eat after our dinner here somewhere down the road because, after a day on the slopes, we were still pretty hungry. I hear Doc Ponds had a posse and my friend and I are in said posse (ha). The only negative about this place was the wait to get in. The restaurant is really popular and we waited quite a long time, but what can you do? When we were seated, we ended up in an oddly quiet little room away from most of the crowd. We looked at the menu through yelp photos before hand to see what we would order and when We sat down and most of the things we wanted were no longer on the menu. The menu selections were so limited. It's either a burger , chicken or wings basically. The service was good but unfortunately most of the food was basic. The drink were ok. I was so excited to try this place! I got the corn and red pepper ravioli my mom got the pot roast. The pot roast was INCREDIBLE! The complementary breads were also amazing!!! The ravioli, not good. At all. I felt so bad because everyone working here was so nice, but I had to send it back. No flavor at all, I was super bummed. I believe when we were leaving the wait time was roughly 10-15 mins. We ended up getting the doc burger, mac n cheese and a Cubano. The doc burger was just alright... Nothing great about it, nothing bad about it. Just mediocre... The Mac n cheese was the best thing we got.. The Cubano was actually really dry and not worth it. We didn't finish it. The Cubano comes with chips, the burger was 8 bucks just by itself.. No fries. I suppose this might be a popular hangout after skiing or snowboarding, but i'm sure there are alot of other pubs and lounges in stowe to relax and decompress. We dined here on a Sunday for lunch. We are out of town tourists and we really enjoyed it. We got there right when they opened and sat at the bar. Plenty of bar space! We were greeted immediately and the service was excellent the entire time. Tons of beers on tap and they have cocktails and wine. It's a very cozy feel inside.
