The hype is real! Such a unique interpretation of a 'donut'. To me, it is more of a beautiful dessert that is quite filling, with subtle flavors. What I appreciated was that it did not taste heavy in the sugar nor in the oil and the mascarpone adds a delicate creamy flavor, the brioche pillowy and structured. Just the right ratio of cream filling and topping to dough. ‍ . We ordered the matcha, the coconut, the OG passion fruit and picked it up at 8 in the morning over the weekend. Brilliant! Is this place for real? Is Seattle for real? $30 for 4 doughnuts?! At the end of the day, whatever possibly higher ingredients used, it's not worth $30 for 4 average sized doughnuts. Why? Because they're doughnuts. You can literally visit any doughnut shop in this country, smaller and larger cities, and they're not charging $30 for 4 doughnuts. I'm not averse to spending money, even on doughnuts, but it has to make some kind of sense. These were $4-5 (at best) doughnuts. And that's still high for these doughnuts. We went on a Saturday morning at 10am, maybe fifth in line, and a much longer line formed after us. The line moved pretty fast for us. Workers were nice and friendly; mostly helpful. The guy was pretty irritated when each new set of customers kept asking him what the flavors of the doughnuts were. If you don't want people to keep asking you, maybe list what it is somewhere so they can read it while standing in line? Don't be upset when customers don't know what's inside the Spanish named doughnuts. The doughnuts ranged from okay to pretty good. 1. The mango filling was surprisingly mild and bland, and the doughnut itself was heavy to eat. 2. The tres leche didn't taste like tres leche at all-just tasted like a cream doughnut with a chocolate bottom. I didn't even taste a hint of condensed milk, nor did it have the extra moistness when I think tres leche. The thick chocolate on the bottom reminded of the big factory brand prepackaged ones you get from a grocery store which I actually really liked. However, the chocolate taste was surprisingly mild and lacking. So maybe it would be pretty good for a cream doughnut, but not a tres leche one as that's what I was expecting. This place is one of the better artisanal type doughnut shops in Seattle in presentation and flavor. But not enough to justify the cost or calories. My issue with them is how heavy they are. I didn't just feel full after eating them, but I felt heavy and sick like the doughnuts were just sitting in me. The dough was heavy, the filling was heavy, the cream was heavy. Just felt too rich, but not in a good way. Definitely more dessert than doughnut, and it'd be too rich and heavy even if presented as a dessert. Overall, a decent doughnut. Fun to try. But I won't be going back anytime soon. Not only because they were way over priced, but because the flavors were too heavy to want to eat regularly, or take more than a couple bites of. I placed an online order last night to ensure that I could get all of the flavors that I wanted to try. I have to start by saying that when I picked up my order at noon, a lot of the donuts in the case were sold out so I'm really glad I ordered ahead! I am a huge fan of The OG and the guava con queso! All of them are super tasty, and the texture of the donuts is so light and fluffy. I also really appreciated the great customer service and how clean and welcoming the atmosphere was. I could barely finish half of the passionfruit creme brulee donut because the filling was too sour, and it didn't pair well with the sugary crunchy caramalized coating. I've now had these doughnuts 5 times and I just love them. The menu has something for every taste, the flavors are so well thought out and executed, and the people there are incredibly kind. The brioche doughnuts are unlike any I've had in Seattle-- yes, light and soft but they feel a little breadier, they have more substance to them which is lovely. The texture just makes for such a satisfying bite and their fillings/toppings add to that. I also love how balanced the flavors are-- nothing is too sweet, when there's heat it's warming and cozy, saltiness is sprinkled in and never overpowering, creme brûlée doughnuts are creamy inside and crisp on top. My only wish is that they'd bring back the hibiscus because it is without a doubt my favorite flavor from them. They have pre-order now which is super helpful to see what flavors there are on the daily (I've never actually seen them be out of flavors too, which is mind boggling) but you can absolutely walk in-- though they had looong lines the first couple weeks open, it seems things have calmed (which is nuts cause I feel like the doughnuts keep getting more and more delicious with every week) so it's an easy walk in situation. I have one photo which is a miracle because normally things get eaten before I can snap a pic (oops). Amazing artisanal donuts with Latin inspired flavors. The dough is fluffy and cakey which makes it unique in my opinion, haven't had that anywhere else in Seattle, the toppings just take it to the next level, the passion fruit crème brûlée balances crunchyness, fluffiness and smoothness, not too tangy but not too sweet, just perfect. I ordered it via Uber so it was $5.50 / donut so while it seems high, each bite I had for each donut really show that there was effort going into it. The tres leeches really show the donut was soaked into the milk. For me it was too sweet but I think that stay true to a tres leeches so I didn't deduct any point for this. Same thing with passion fruit and tiramisu. Each donut shows it flavor very well but not so overwhelming and the dough is just light enough! All in all - I can see why it had great reviews! The only thing I noticed is by 5 pm it got stale and the dough wasn't great anymore. The only reason I bring it up is I was thinking of buying for a dinner I will be hosting but if the dough isn't so great by dinner time I probably won't be buying it for my guests. Honestly , majorly underwhelming. Stopped by to try out Doce yesterday after seeing a lot of hype about it in instagram. The interior is lovely, it's bright, clean, and smells amazing. Service was quick and everyone was friendly. The bummer part about our experience was the toppings. We ordered churro and Mexican chocolate - both didn't really taste much like anything. Sadly, the actual raised donut was delicious, we just wish the toppings were more flavorful. Would consider going back in some time once they've had more time to dial things in. This spot is a block away from me and given all the hype I needed to check it out. Went at 9 this morning and there was zero line (so weekdays likely better to visit). The shop is cute and the donuts are displayed nicely. Picked up the OG, fresa hibiscus, and the churro dulce de leche. Overall I found each flavor extremely sweet, of the three the churro was the best after removing the dulce de leche drizzle. The dough itself is really good with a pleasant texture. I don't think I will be heading back because of the sugar overload. For me I think toning down the sugar would be a good move. I had the guava & queso and mango crème brûlée. The guava & queso needs quite a bit of work--the big clump of crème cheese in the middle doesn't work and the sugar frosting on top clashes a bit--perhaps the crème cheese should move to the frosting. I wanted to love it--I've been eating guava and cheese since the womb but this donut needs more finesse like many of the guava and cheese pastries pull off. The mango crème brûlée was better but needs a tiny bit more mango punch. Right now, I would say they are not worth the money. read more

I also don't ever say donut toppings taste better than the donut but for me Doce is the exception. The Mexican chocolate was covered with a good quality dark chocolate and the marshmallow cream was more like a whipped cream - light and not too sweet. Donuts are huge balanced creative fresh, and of course delicious . My top picks are churro and og vanilla the texture is just delicious my only minor critique is the temp they are sometimes a bit cold but a quick 20 sec in the microwave gets it perfect. I order these at least 1-2 times a week and my family from out of town are also huge fans. Also highly recommend their coffee!! Creates the perfect breakfast combo! Very cute relatively small donut shop. Parking was a bit tricky as it's street parking around the shop. They do offer a basic selection of coffee beverages. The flavor donuts themselves are very unique and depending on the season (they rotate flavors) you most likely won't find a handful of their flavors elsewhere. The brioche dough was very fluffy and soft, tres leches was by far my favorite followed by the guava cheesecake. The tres leches was the right amount of sweetness and not soggy at all! The nice meringue torched top was delicious. Guava has a nice tart from the cream cheese and guava filling, and it was the right amount of filling. The churro dulce de leche had a nice thick sauce at the top but the cinnamon coating could have used a bit more cinnamon than sugar to balance. Creme brûlée passion fruit had a nice crunchy sugar top that was fun and added nice texture with a tangy center. The donuts do range between 5-6 dollars which is on the pricier side of donuts, but is worth it on a treat yourself day compared to other gourmet donut places. read more

Had the Churro Dulce de Leche and the Strawberry Lemon Crumble. The churro donut didn't taste like a churro. The drizzle was bland and fell off as I was trying to eat the donut. The Strawberry Lemon was heavy on the lemon and less on the sweet. I love a good tart/sweet taste but the balance was just way off.
