Maria's baking is absolutely delicious (just the perfect level of sweet). I would definitely order from her again.

As someone who is dairy free, I love the fact that they had a dairy free option for the cakes. When I arrived to pick up the cake, the service was wonderful and quick. I was able to grab the cake with no issues. The space itself is gorgeous and bright. There are a few tables for seating area and I noticed they had a ton of other desserts to choose from (if I recall correctly, they had a vegan option too). I ordered the double chocolate flavour cake. I couldn't eat it unfortunately as I am dairy free but here's what my family said: they all really enjoy the cake and loved that it wasn't overly sweet. It was just the right amount of sweet. The only thing that I guess my family preferred was they felt the cake was too dense (they preferred more sponginess) but other than that, it was really good. No complaints. I'd love to come back again soon and try their other desserts.

I heard they newly opened in Port Moody location, so, I dropped by. What I got: Strawberry chocolate, Oreo, Mango and Salted caramel. I could taste Mango's fruity with a bit tangy flavor . Strawberry chocolate was my favorite. Strawberry and chocolate ganache topping paired so well, I love strawberry flavor and cheese cake buttery texture ! Oreo was also great. Since cheese cake texture was so rich and buttery, Oreo crumble blended so well. I believe this is a popular one. Salted caramel was also great. I love the rich cheese cake and caramel sauce on the top. FlavoThis must be one of the popular item. Overall, I really enjoyed visiting the shop. There are so many variety of mini cheesecakes. Can't wait to try another item!

What I tried Hazelnut roasted banana choux - Hazelnut monte, roasted hazelnuts, candied bananas and house made praline. Mango and coconuts cake - coconut mouse mango cremeux almond dacquoise and white chocolate crunch. Choux was very delicious! Choux dough was nicely crispy exterior and filling was not overly sweet, strong hazelnut flavor, really delicious. The house made praline and hazelnut cream paired so well. I really love this item. Mango and coconuts cake was also good. Coconut mouse was light texture and not overly sweet. It paired with Mango creameux well. And I like to have them with chocolate crunch. I have always thought this place's pastries were high level. Highly recommend.

However, we really enjoy the food and coziness of the room so we have continued to make Henry's one of our regular dining experiences. We were going to make reservations for later this month when I noticed a line on their website saying that a 20% gratuity had been added to the bill. I thought that maybe it was a line that had been added on because of New Year's Eve or at that the prices on the menu now reflected the 20% gratuity and no further tipping would be required. My husband sent an email to Henry's asking them to clarify what the policy was. We received a response from Jasmine "20% will be add on. It does not refer only to groups but also to each individual consumer". Sadly, we will not be going to Henry's anymore. The food is very good but the prices are already very high. We were at a Seasons in the Park last night. Their prices are less than Henry's. The setting is nicer, service was outstanding and food is very bit as good as Henry's.

We walked into the restaurant without any customers. A server seated us right away. Her service was great knowing that it was our first time to eat here and letting us know what was special and what we should try. We ordered mussels with white wine, tomatoes and herbs as appetizers and our main dishes were Penne Alfredo and Linguine Pescatora. Penne Alfredo was just a simple dish of penne with white creamy sauce and Parmesan cheese, but OMG! It was extraordinarily delicious! Chef Henry could cook this simple dish so well that I could 100% guarantee it is hard to find such a good simple dish in Greater Vancouver. Linguine Pescatora was full of seafood (shrimps, mussels, clams, scallops, and calamari) in a light spicy tomato sauce. The seafood was fresh (not frozen ones) and the texture of linguine was firm and chewy. Everything was irresistible. We would love to visit this restaurant and try other dishes in the near future. It was worth a trip to come all the way to Port Moody and eat the pasta here. (This pasta restaurant was originally located in Vancouver West.).

The donut itself is soft and fluffy, the filling is nice and creamy, and the crackly caramelized sugar on top gives you that classic crème brûlée experience. It's good, but for me, it wasn't quite the type of donut that all the hype made it out to be. The other flavours were enjoyable; I do wish they were a little more innovative. It feels like there's room to be a bit more creative with the menu. One other thing was how quickly they "sell out." Maybe they genuinely do, but it almost feels like they simply make a very limited quantity each day to create that sense of demand. The location also doesn't do them any favours. Parking is difficult, it's right along a busy road, and it's not exactly the kind of place you casually stop at. Overall, the donuts are good quality, especially the crème brûlée, but I personally don't think they're worth going out of your way for.

The hashbrown bites were nice and crispy. Their doughnuts all looked enticing, but I picked the wrong one. I chose creme brulee, which had a hard icing on top. It was crunchy, which did not go well with the pillowy soft doughnut. I peeled the entire top off, but enjoyed the vanilla filling. Although I didn't like this doughnut, I could tell it was freshly baked and I would return to try their other flavours. There was only 1 woman working in the cafe and she was so friendly. The interior is aesthetically pleasing and seating is comfortable. I went early on a weekday morning so I was able to find street parking, however finding parking could be challenging, especially on the weekend.

I'm not sure if anyone in town is doing this. So the question is why the fcuk not? Well, it is now. Not busy because of COVID, and the fact that the croissants are only available via online purchase right now, and word of mouth can be a bit slow. Pick up is through another fave of mine, Smokehouse Sandwich Company. They share the same premises. The flavours are beautiful. Beat the rush and try these before all the other noobs jump onto the bandwagon. Pro tip: they sell out fast, so get your online order in. Get a sandwich from Smokehouse while you're there. May as well, you're in the same place! My ranking so far: 1. Ca Phe 2. Black sesame 3. Matcha PBJ is a bit too sweet for my palate, but you may like it. Almond vanilla is the traditional for you traditionalists of French pastries. I purposely took it out of my personal ranking. Doesn't mean its not good. I'm ranking the unique ones. Ube was sold out, so I have to do this again. The croissants come baked once. You take them home and bake them again for the double baked texture. You're welcome. *Correction: they're baked twice already. You warm them up again for a more pleasurable oral experience =P

I found the ube croissant to be a bit bigger than average. I would share this with another person for a fancy afternoon treat. As it's twice baked, I found the outer layer to be a bit more crisp(?) than a regular croissant. This, together with the generous amount of ube halaya/ube jam in the middle, makes for a substantial afternoon snack! The ube halaya was not too sweet and was just enough to enjoy as if it were the stand alone Filipino dessert. Another highlight for me is their Ham & Cheddar croissant. In addition to the ample ham and cheese inside the croissant, the sesame topping/layer made the experience more fun for me. I thought that the texture/aroma from the sesame seeds was a pleasing blend with the savoury croissant. With the variety of croissants they offer, I can see myself supporting more of their pop-up shops across the Lower Mainland in the future!

They realized we had a dog so they set another table for us on the patio. We were seated and within minutes, the hostess told us dogs weren't allowed to be in this specific section of the patio. An ALL OR NOTHING statement was said, ".....we could stay where we were but the dog needs to on the sidewalk. OOPS! SORRY, but we did not seat ourselves! We were seated at the table knowingly we had our dog. HOSTESS WERE IN TOTAL CONFUSION! We were then seated at a bar height table with our shih tzu. We ordered the La Casalinga and boscaiola. I was under the impression the La Casalinga was a arugula salad. It was more a romaine salad sprinkled lightly with arugula. I would have never ordered if I had known this. Our salad arrived with 2 spoons. Yup, 2 spoons and no cutlery. We had to ask for cutlery. Our boscaiola was acceptable and not spectacular! Perhaps its a result of the sequence of unfortunate events which led up to our meals.
