    Crispy rice and spicy tuna
    Frank P.

A vendor at the Tuna Harbor Dockside Market. I had the Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice. It was pretty good but a bit pricey. They were very busy, but service was fast. They had several tables where you could eat.

Severely overpriced considering the environment and food quality. They are aggressively skimping on fish. The ceviche had literally zero fish in it, and the tuna poke used watermelon as filler to disguise the lack of actual tuna. I call it watermelon poke. Tiny seafood portions, high prices, and a huge disappointment. And the funniest part is they are doing this right next to a fish market. Won't be back.

A must visit if you're in the area! It is located in the far back. The seafood is fresh from the other stalls selling the fresh catch from the morning. I ordered the uni hand roll, fish and chips, ceviche, tuna masubi, and clam chowder. The uni handroll was a crowd favorite amongst my friends. It was fresh, sweet, and creamy. The fish and chips were good but didn't have the wow factor compared to the other fresh fish. The tuna masubi was so delicious I would recommend trying this dish. The ceviche was so light and fresh which was perfect for the hot weather. The clam chowder was okay. I would ordering any dish with fresh fish because it's the freshest fish you can get and it's so worth it. The line gets really long but moves fast. There isn't that much seating due to the small space so be prepared to stand.

its cool to try once. this is just for the stand that sells food. the sushi roll is whatever. the poke bowl is ok. i wouldnt get it again. the tuna was buttery but overpriced for the quality and quantity

Poke tuna bowl (only had four small cubes of tuna???)

Overpriced and small portions! Since it's located on a busy pier during a Saturday morning fish market, I figured prices would be inflated. However, I still expected somewhat decent food and portions. The tuna poke bowl had around four small cubes of tuna, and the tuna quality was just ok. The fish tacos also were not freshly fried and not crispy, and I could tell because the fryer at the stall was not being used. Also, the sign at the front said there was an addition fee for paying with card, but the fee was still applied even though we paid with cash! The other fresh fish stalls in the market looked promising, I may come back for them, but I definitely will not be coming back for this stall.

If you are looking for a hidden seafood joint - this is a great spot. I actually was in search of the a Saturday seafood market but I did not find one.,As I got closer to the end of the pier the aroma of freshly fried seafood was wafting from blue canopies. Honestly I was not expecting much - maybe some mid fried fish & chips. This was definitely not the case. From what I saw others buying the dishes were all on point. Every single plate they were putting out looked & smelled delicious. I opted for the special shark tacos - because hello it's the special. AMAZING! Lightly breaded crispy & tender on the inside. They were lightly topped with a smoked chipotle cream sauce. They were cooking on grills & I believe using propane to fuel the deep fryers. The work station looked well organized & clean. The staff were so friendly & extremely efficient. As fast as they served it the flavor tasted otherwise! I cannot wait to try the fish & chips

The staff are friendly and attentive as they are very approachable, willing to give you extra sauce when asked, and make sure that the order is correct and double checked if I received everything that was ordered. In addition, the seafood is really fresh and cooked to perfection. I got the lobster and it looked and tasted amazing. There was even meat in the tiny legs.

Ceviche, chowder, ube sliders, tuna handrolls

What an incredible little spot in tuna harbor! The only thing that I have an issue with is that it isn't open 7 days a week! I had seen this spot on instagram for a few weeks now with the intentions of heading down to the dockside market for the first time ever just to check this place out. I ordered the ceviche which was great , slightly sweet due to the mango but very fresh and citrusy. Ordered the chowder which was sooo freaking good! I was in search of these tuna hand rolls which weren't listed on the menu and chef Marcus was nice enough to make them for me anyways! Really appreciated because this was definitely one of the highlights of the meal! I then ordered the ube bun yellowtail sliders... and mannnn let me tell you.... The way that Marcus and his team make what some (me in particular) consider a delicacy into a comfort food... absolutely incredible. The order came with two and if I had room for two more I totally would have ordered again. Thank you Dockside Fish & Chips. You guys have changed my Saturday routine for the better because now I need to include visiting every Saturday morning that I can!

These are simply no words to describe the amazing experience at Dockside Fish! You need to prioritize this spot during your next SD trip! Everything was soooo delicious and memorable! I can't wait to visit their restaurant in Pacific Beach next! BEST lunch experience in SD hands down!

Grilled spiny lobster and Fish and chips

First time at Dockside Fish and it definitely won't be our last! From the moment we ordered, everything felt fresh and thoughtfully prepared. We tried the fish and chips--perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside. The kama was flavorful, cooked just right, and melted in your mouth. The highlight for us was the whole grilled spiny lobster. It was beautifully grilled, juicy, and packed with natural flavor--simple, fresh, and absolutely delicious. You can truly taste the quality of the seafood here. Great first experience, satisfying portions, and food that speaks for itself. Highly recommend for anyone looking for fresh, well-prepared seafood by the dock!

    Cardboard "fresh" fish and chips

Severely over hyped. After a lot of excitement from Instagram about the fresh off the boat seafood. I usually don't write negative reviews but we were extremely disappointed in the meal here. I've been thinking about it all day. We don't visit San Diego too often maybe once a year but always try to find good food finds when we visit. Lobster was pretty tasty and cooked well. The poke was pretty meh, bland(small portions, mostly rice.) Uni was fresh but the only thing that we really enjoyed was the ceviche. Refreshing with good flavor. But the two orders of fish and chips were so severely overcooked, we couldn't even finish it. It looked and tasted like cardboard. For fish right off the boat they did a terrible disservice to the fish. I'm hopeful that not all their fish and chips are this awful but they have to do better with quality control especially this is the only day they are serving the public. They even have their signage saying Dockside Fish ; Fish and Chips. Good business model, great location, convenient service but I personally would not waste my time here.

    Uni handroll and skewers
    Cindy K.

Uni quality and amount were not great. Definitely doesn't match the pictures with fat pieces of uni that they post on their Instagram which is disappointing. The skewers were delicious and had good flavor tho.

Fast and friendly service. Delicious spiney lobster with fires. They have covered seating to eat at. Sun was beating down. Had a full lobster with fries and it did not disappoint!

The staff will take your order and assign you a table, so do not grab a table without their approval. The seafood all taste fresh. We love the halibut plate with lemon garlic butter. Tip: we went at 2:30p thinking it is after the lunch rush, but the line was out the door on Sunday. We will stick to 15mins before they open.

So basically, two plates full of salad with five dollars worth of lettuce on either each and five dollars worth of a flat piece of fish for $50. Absurd. What they are charging for fish and what they give you is a total joke don't waste your money.. Will not be coming back here ever. I'm not sure why people come here, but you're paying retail on retail for their fish prices are out of control. They have Faroe island Salman for $28 a pound. I can buy the exact same Salman for $10 a pound. I understand the need to make a profit, but what they are charging for fish is a joke and how much they don't give you.

We put baby in high chair although baby kept trying to eat the table. We got our usual favorites (warm lobster rolls, clam chowder bowls, fried oyster, and fried clam belly). Surprisingly the clam belly was full of sand this time! Must not have soaked in water long enough, but when we told our server they swapped it out immediately. We substituted one of our coleslaw for potato salad, and one of our fries for onion rings. We definitely will continue doing so because it is nice to try out so many different dishes! As always, order the fries well-done for nice crispy fries. It's still on our to-do list to try the chicken parmesan since we've heard so many good things about it, but I really do like my Must Order dishes (listed below). Must Order (in order of ranking): - Clam chowder bowl - Warm lobster roll - Fried oysters - Fried scallops - Fried clam belly - Fried clam strips - Crab roll Pass: - Fish and chips - Calamari

Pretty perfect. I do believe it was missing some flavor, maybe even more butter? But then again I'm no expert. And, I was happy to have it. Alright, the fried Baja shrimp plate, oh my! Amazing. The shrimp are addicting and easy to eat. I easily could eaten the entire order. The portions are good. The staff seemed serious and focused on their jobs. I think the Boston memorabilia is fun, lots of Red Sox, and the city of Boston pictures and cool stuff. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. With two separate seating areas indoor. Given how hot it is we definitely sat inside. You will find a photo of Mr. Padre at the bar and some Padres jerseys and bobbleheads at the bar. I suppose just in case you forget where you are. Fun to finally check out Pete's Seafood and Sandwich given how many times I've driven by it. Most definitely a billion times!!
