Visiting Wisconsin for the AIRVENTURE Aviation event. Stumbled upon this place after missing the turn for a different venue. So glad! I'm here on a Sunday, and the live music is fantastic. Not too loud and a good variety. I got a table outside, right on the water. My server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the Shrimp Bang Bang with fries well done. Fries were perfectly crisp and had no skin. There were about 4-5 shrimp per taco, and the order came with 3 tacos. Very tasty and not too spicy with good slaw. After eating, hang out at your table, the bar, or pull up an Adirondack chair by the dock. Nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Extremely reasonable prices. read more

Well, they certainly dont socially distance on patio so we went inside to eat where they did. The server was pleasant, however, she served our food with no napkins or utensils. When she served out cheese curds, she picked several of them up with her fingers from the serving tray onto the plate where they fell off. I called her out on it and she denied doing it. The food was terrible. Crabcakes were undercooked, had to send them back, still came back uncooked. My fries were cold, but the coleslaw was excellent. There was more breading than fish on my fish fry. Sad to say, I wont go back. read more

Omfg we were so excited that they were opening back up, BUT TYPICAL service still SUCKS! I don't think they were prepared for the onslaught of people. Reviewing again after several more dining results. Outdoor patio has lots of seating and a very large bar. Service can be improved however you must remember almost all summer you are waited on by local college kids trying to earn a buck. Food has definitely improved however they do seem to run out things on weekends it seems they need to work on ordering supplies. (Covid probably makes this difficult) The outdoor entertainment this summer was terrific! So if you have a little patience this is a pretty great place on the rivervto grab a bite to eat! read more

Went tonight with a few friends. My friend requested no tomatoes, no honey mustard on a wrap. After 45 minutes, the wrong food was brought out. When notifying the server, he went back to the kitchen and the manager refused to remake the item, stating they weren't doing any mods. When asking to speak to the manager he refused to come out. He is unwilling to meet for an hour and 45 minutes. On top of that, after nearly two hours of waiting, we finally got the alt meal option of cheese curds. Completely unacceptable. The server was so friendly however until Brian is removed from his management position, I will not be back nor will I recommend this place. read more

We have been to dockside a number of times and recently have not had good service. We waited 10 minutes to be greeted. We had 3 drinks and an appetizer for 4 people. The drinks took almost 15 minutes and food over 45 minutes. It was July 3rd but looking around many customers had been served and were there listening to an awesome band. The server did acknowledge that our food was 3rd in line when she brought our drinks and we never saw her again until our food came. The atmosphere is great just wish you get get good service and more value for what food we got. read more

Food was decent, staff needs to get it together. My server was very professional, but overhear that the chefs were physically fighting in the kitchen and I waited over an hour for some Mac and cheese. Would have been easier to go to KFC. read more

At 6pm on a Friday, the restaurant was practically deserted. This should have been our first clue that perhaps we should have gone elsewhere for dinner... Overall, the food was decent -- about what you'd expect for a place like this, and really not terrible at all. My club was good, and the tavern chips (potatoes, sweet potatoes, and beets, of all things) were the highlight of the plate. The shoestring fries were fine, but nothing special, and they sure gave us a lot! However, the service was what killed it for me. We were on a bit of schedule, since we had tickets for a show at 7:30, and watching our waitress dilly-dally around the mostly empty restaurant drove us all nuts! Drink orders took a loooong time to come out (and it's not like there's any seat that far from the bar), and though one member of our party wanted dessert, we were sufficiently strapped for time at that point that we took a pass and tried to pay and leave as quickly as possible. None of us could figure out what the deal was with the slow service, and honestly, I don't want to go back and see if she was just having a bad night. With only about 8 occupied tables and something like 4 servers milling around, I just don't get it. Moral of the story, decent bar food, but don't come here in any kind of hurry. read more

We have been to dockside several times. Today 3 ladies met for lunch today and the restaurant and bar were not busy. Very sad to say the experience was less than good. We ordered a fried fish lunch, salad and sandwich. Nothing difficult. It took us over an hour to receive this lunch order. When our food arrived it was all cold. We didn't blame it on our waitstaff. He was attentive. Of course we tipped him well. Hoping that the restaurant will improve...For now we won't be meeting for lunch at Dockside...:( read more

The service at this place is forgettable. We docked our boat and sat out in the patio. No one came to help us for several minutes, despite several servers servicing other tables. We were told the restaurant closed at eight despite what their hours online said, so a different waiter was sent over to see if it was okay to serve us a drink. He then told us the restaurant closed at nine. Who knows but clearly it was going to be whatever time they decided. :P Drinks were what you'd expect from a place like that. Waited 20 minutes for a drink and then another 45 minutes for a salad, the fish special and fries. Every person around us had either finished eating or arrived after us and got their food before us. When we finally got our food there was no apology from the waiter, the fries were cold and the fish was soggy. One of the worst meals we've ever had. read more

Food is pretty decent considering the price and every weekday has half-priced drinks from 3-6. It's also nice that they have several of the Fox River Brewing Company's beers on tap; few things are as good on a hot day as listening to some live music on the patio and drinking a Bluberry Ale. Service is generally good and it rarely takes more than 15 minutes for the entrees to arrive. Bartenders tend to be a little slower though and it may take a while to get a drink refill. read more

We're here for EAA Airventure and wanted to get out of the tradition "bar" food. Seemed like most everything around town is either fried food or pizza. I was a bit hesitant due to 3 1/2 stars but we thought what the heck... to our surprise, the food was just fantastic. Sitting outside, by the water, sun shinning, cool breeze, good food, good friends... it doesn't get much better. If you're from out of town then it's % worth it. It was good enough that we came back twice during our Oshkosh AirVenture trip. read more

I don't live in Oshkosh anymore, and when I did I was a frequenter of the lower-end (read: best) bars in town. Dockside opened after I moved away, but it makes me sad that I moved away. The food is typical sports bar fare, but I think done better than average. The drinks are typical Wisconsin-style drinks: heavy on the booze, short on the mixers, but more expensive than other places in town for sure (Appleton prices). The great thing about Dockside? The PATIO. Pull up in your boat for a quick snack before heading back down the river. This has become one of my favorite stops when I visit in the summer. They are always busy, they have a lot of live music, and it's a just a nice place to get off the boat for a few minutes. I'm glad Oshkosh is getting some nicer places and making good use of the beautiful riverfront. read more

My husband and I stopped in today. We were waited on within 5 min and got our waters and 1 drink within 10 min or so. Not bad. We placed 2 orders of steak tacos when ordering drinks. We noticed they were busy and knew being patient was important. However, the waitress never returned to fill up our drinks and after waiting one hour with no attention at all, no drink refills and no food, we began to get impatient. Then we noticed mutible tables who arrived a half hour after us were getting their food. We decided we would pay for the drink and get food somewhere else. We flagged down a waitress and explained our concern. Our waitress then came out and was very apologetic and kept saying how backed up the kitchen was. However, our order was in a half hour before a large table of 8, table of 4 and the 2 next to us all got there food. We kindly explained that we were neglected for 60 minutes while watching others recieve their orders. So we asked for the bill, I paid in cash and we left. The part that concerns us the most. Is that another waitress told my husband to blame her if we wanted and to stop yelling at our waitress. I can assure you, he never raised his voice as he was kindly explaining why we were leaving. So for that second response. We will never be back. We did have sympathy for the young women who knew she had neglected us and likely made a mistake in our order, however the other girls comment was embarrassing and uncalled for. read more

I'm from California and I came here for a business trip. I was told to try out Wisconsin's Fried Cheese Curds and so I came here to try them out. The Cheese Curds were delicious and the service was good. Came on a Tuesday so I had their fish tacos and they were pretty good also. I will come back to try out other menu items. read more

After working in the marine industry for over 18 years in southwest Florida, I found some of the most relaxing, & memorable times dinning & drinking are dockside venues. So, in our journey around Oshkosh we found this very attractive, Interesting location on the Fox River. When we had an opportunity to come to town from Poygan Lake via water, we stopped in for a late lunch. Being Monday there might be a chance they would be closed. The website said they were open, & we saw lights on. Tying up the boat, & going inside, we found no one home. Stocking boxes all over the floor with a sign on the bar saying , for service see outside bar. there was no one to be found? We did find Greene's Pour House across the street for a great late lunch. read more

Dockside has great food and it's not very pricey. I would give it 5 stars but if it's super busy in the summer, my table has been 'forgotten' by a server more than once. This doesn't stop me from going there however, because it's been very few times it's happened and the atmosphere and food are great! read more

I ordered walleye fingers meal for delivery. Whoever packed the meal, put the lemon wedge directly on top of the fries. Because they use a plastic delivery/carryout container, the fries were already soggy from heat and condensation. The lemon juice at least added flavor to the limp fries. Thankfully, the walleye fingers were pretty good. read more

Not one complaint about the food or the view. The rating is based solely on service, The patio area is very nice, many tables and a great outdoor bar. Despite not being overly busy (many servers working, three bartenders, and 5 open tables on the patio) service was less than stellar. We had to get two rounds of our own drinks once at a table, we didn't have a server greet us or cover our table until we asked for one, and the bartenders were serving everyone around us quickly or as they walked up to the bar but we waited quite some time to be approached to take our order. Guessing having kids with us deterred them from thinking we would be ordering drinks worthy of a decent tip....wrong! Our server was certainly not happy to be working today and appeared very put out by any small request (and, I know, one might ask how many requests we had and were we "the difficult table" but as a server myself, I can honestly say that we were not). We will be back because the food was fabulous and the drinks are not watered down but we will hope for much better service next time. read more

I had been here several times previous, service was adequate and food was the same. Since it is on the lake it has been a good casual place for me to bring my company. Poor service, slow, waitress was poorly trained. Med rare was medium well & the replacement was well done. Desert came without everything the description said it would have and when we enquired why she answered "oh, we are out of..." She did not tell us before hand so we could change or order. When we asked to speak to the manager her face looked terrified, We watched her approach him with trepidation & fear. The manager had spent this evening sitting at a table on a laptop, in the restaurant for all to see. When our waitress told him we wanted to speak with him, he did not look up at her or acknowledge her at all. She spoke, he kept looking at his laptop, she stood there in silence and eventually walked away looking confused. He came to our table 6 1/2 minutes later (we counted) and was rude, surly and annoyed. Not a good eating experience all around. I will not return. read more

The Dockside was very nice and took my reservation for 10 for their Dueling Piano event. When we arrived there was no hostess or sign to tell us how seating would work. I finally asked the bartender and she said I guess the table in the middle is yours so you just go sit down. When we sat down waitress came right away and took our drink orders, came back 20 minutes later to take our food and appetizer order and didn't have our drinks. Our drinks arrived about 15 minutes later. It took about 45 minutes to get our appetizers and our food arrived about 20 minutes later. I understand Dockside was busy for the event but, they should have increased their staff as dueling pianos always attracts a crowd. Overall, food was good. My husband got the walleye fingers and loved them, I got a wrap and we got an appetizer of the chips and dips. read more

Fun atmosphere to relax in. During the summer they offer a large deck with lots of outdoor seating and outside bar. They periodically have bands and entertainment to enjoy while having a great meal or some drinks by the river. The menu changes with the seasons and normally has all around good selection. read more

However and this seems to happen a lot here, very Slow to get service and even much slower for food to be served after order is placed. This was a Wednesday only a total of 6 people in the entire place no one outside. Glad the food was good enough that we will go back and give it another chance.
