I think the previous reviewer was being unfair. This is a new bar/restaurant in Waterford, and it's not a supper club. The menu is not huge, but what they do have is good. They primarily serve appetizers, burgers, and sandwiches. Everything we've eaten has been very good. The Reuben was large and meaty, the burgers were as good as any found in a larger restaurant, the fries and sweet potato fries were very good, and the fried mushrooms were made with fresh produce. The beer selection is also adequate, with reasonable prices. The service has always been good, and the owner has seemed interested in our opinions. Overall, if you want a good burger or sandwich in Waterford I think this is the place to go. read more

We went on the first day that they were open for lunch with friends. All we can say is this restaurant is a welcome addition to Waterford. The food was excellent, the service was impeccable and the owner took the time to visit the tables and to take our party on a tour of the rooftop which will be open in the Spring. Great time, Great Service and wonderful, friendly people - what more could you ask for. We can't wait for warm weather to come again so we can utilize the outdoor space. read more

Ok Doc, we gave you 3 strikes and your business struck out. We were very excited about your restaurant on the water opening up near our home so we gave it a shot. The first experience for a Fish Fry, service was horrible. We sat down and waited for a wait staff for about 10 minutes to order a drink. Once we ordered our drinks it was another 15 minutes before we received them. The restaurant was full but not busy, where there were people waiting to be seated. After ordering our food, it took a half an hour before it arrived and we dared not to order another drink because it would of taken another 15 minutes. We brought this up with Doc's son and he said sorry about the wait, we are still trying to smooth things out since we just opened. He did not give us any reason to return but we did a second time months later. Doc's second strike was June 26, 2015 for another Fish Fry. Now we are hoping this experience will go smoother. We arrived with a half hour wait to be seated up stairs in the Sky Bar which we were excited because we didn't know they had a Sky Bar. There were 4 of us and we placed our order which took 30 to 40 minutes before it arrived . My wife and I ordered the baked fish which was very dry but the sweet potato fries were awesome. So with this experience we felt they improved slightly but needs a lot more work. I've noticed more wait staff but I believe they have no direction because some tables were not getting cleaned as fast and a lot of the wait staff talking and standing around instead of clearing tables or even assisting other waitresses. So Doc here is your 3rd pitch. On Friday July 10, 2015 we arrived to a very busy Doc's on the Fox. Which we felt that is a great sign of improvement. So we gave Shirley (Doc's Wife) our names to be seated in the Sky Bar for a table of 3. She stated its about a half hour wait, no biggie. We made our way to the lower bar and had a few drinks, which the bartenders are great and drinks are reasonably priced. Once our buzzer rang to notify us that our table is ready, we walked over to Shirley. The hostess started to walk us to a table on the lower level outside. With confusion, I stated "we wanted the Sky Bar", the hostess replied I know I heard you guys when you told Shirley. So I walked over to Shirley and told her we wanted the Sky Bar. Her response with confusion was " you never said Sky Bar and she told me that people are just helping themselves by walking up to the Sky Bar without reservations, I can't help that", With a little anger to my voice I stated to her "are you serious, this is the reason we come her to sit outside at the Sky Bar and eat". So with no apology, she gave us another buzzer to wait until a table opens up and now our seats at the lower level bar is taken. I'm livid now and needed to talk to Doc. Low and behold Doc is making his way downstairs from the Sky Bar and I voiced out my frustration to him. He stated don't be upset we will get you a table, which he did within 5 minutes. When we arrived upstairs, we noticed people standing by the bar area waiting for a table to open up. We also noticed empty tables with left over food and drinks that hadn't been bussed. Doc, bussed our table for us while his wait staff stood around.by the bar socializing. Service was again slow and I ordered another drink which was on tap and it took 10 minutes to get. We have a few suggestions Doc. Shirley needs to be more attentive when customers are walking through the door and not look confused and overwhelmed. Your waitresses should be more proactive when they are walking by a messy table after taking an order and not service one table at a time (have more bussers). There should be a bar upstairs where customers can actually sit at. Last but not least have 2 person bar tables in the Sky Bar to service the people that just want to drink upstairs and not a table of six. Finally lets focus on service, service, service. read more

Do NOT go here if you have food allergies! Needed gluten free and they had a gluten free pizza and buns but the staff was not knowledgeable nor trained well. Ordered a gluten free pizza for my son, I unfortunately they served him a gluten pizza. We expressed concern and the waitress assured us it was gluten free. We pressed on and she brought the manager who said no it wasn't. My son has been in the bathroom for 30 min vomiting aggressively. I had a steak sandwich with fries, was told the fries were gluten free but they were obviously not. They were the coated fries. Very disappointed in the lack of knowledge of the staff, especially considering all the awareness of food allergies these days. read more

We were in town for a wedding and we all landed at this great restaurant. Service was great and the Friday night fish fry was awesome!!!!

Just had dinner here and we were NOT IMPRESSED! Food was just okay but the service was worse! Did not come around at all. We had to track her down through another server. We were put in the back room even though the main dining room was empty and it was cold. We will not be back! read more

This is my first visit to this restaurant from the outside looks like a pretty neat place when I went inside I found it to be a little too bright I wish it was a little dimmer for atmosphere plenty of new tables and plenty of seating although we are here in March there seems to be a three season porch outside it was not open during my visit it looks like a pretty cool place to be during the three seasons when it's open being it's on the water I'm assuming it's going to be a great place to be during the summer months the waitresses very nice and very accommodating she explain to us all the drink specials and the food specials we had a couple beers and appetizer although she was very friendly and she allowed us to take our time to look over the menu. I definitely will come back during the warmer months and check out the rooftop deck which they are remodeling this year and I hope to have functional throughout the summer read more

Would not eat here again. Food is bland and not memorable. The food is frozen and not fresh, the fish tacos were not good at all. Fish was very fishy tasting and almost had a freezer burnt taste to it. Very disappointed. It is unfortunate since there are very few places to eat in the area. The atmosphere was okay and our waitress was nice but the food was average. I had the steak sandwich and the menu said it was fillet, but the beef was so tough I couldn't eat it as a sandwich (I had to use a fork and knife.) And at that, the beef was very chewy. Went there tonight with my Grandma. It was taco night. I ordered 2 tacos, beans and tice, and a beer. My Grandma just had a brownie. The waitress touched my and my Grandma's shoulder almost every time that she came over. It was very odd. I saw her do this to other customers also. I got my tacos, but no beans or rice. I thought that she was in the process of bringing out the sides. Well when I took a bite of my "seafood"tacos, I didn't want anymore of their food. The seafood was mush. It was horrible. I don't know what they mashed together, but it was like seafood babyfood.When I got the bill, I was charged for the sides. I told the waitress to place take the charge off of my bill, because I never received them. The waitress said oh, I don't know why no one brought them out for you. Ummm, that would be her job.
