It's amazing that this place sets right outside the gate. Ambience, food, drinks, entertainment all an A+. I love that you can start a tab and keep ordering food and drinks from counter as you go. Really convenient. We'll be back for sure! read more

So we went here after church yesterday. There weren't many people which was nice. It was a really nice day so we sat outside on the patio overlooking the water. After we ordered the food at the bar it came out faster than I thought it would have. I had the shrimp basket. I loved everything. The breading on the shrimp wasn't too thick. The coleslaw wasn't too wet and the fries were crunchy and seasoned well. I would totally go back on a date with the hubbs to have fries and a beer. Love the laid back atmosphere of this place. read more

If you are looking for a great local place with amazing staff, Doc's is the place to be. Their food is great and the atmosphere is even better. You'll want to hang out and just talk over a few beers after your done eating. read more

Great oysters, diverse craft beer selection! Beer prices are higher than balls on a giraffe...as you can tell from the picture of the menu. Don't plan on dinner here, pretty dive oriented with limited food selection but staff is nice. Same owner as the compass rose. At least 4 TV's as of now. Place has only been open for 2 months, so I am sure they will be working out the kinks. read more

Sorry boys, you only get three stars. You didn't have any oysters when we visited. With oysters in your name there's no excuse to run out. Other than that, the food was very good, large portions and good cold beer. I'll give you guys another try in a couple of weeks and I'll update my review then. read more

We had dinner here and it was delicious! My husband had the Bacon Gouda oysters and Fish tacos and I don't want to mis speak but I'm pretty sure the word was amazing lol. They do not have a kids menu but the food on the menu is kid friendly. My 2 year old had an all beef dog and couldn't tell it was off the grownup menu ;) . I had a burger and it was juicy and flavorful. We will definitely be adding this to our list of places to go. read more

OMG! The oysters are out of this world! The best fried oysters I've ever had! And the fries! Yummy! The shrimp and fried fish in my Captian's basket were good as well. There is outdoor seating. A fun experience, with a great play list to add to the night. read more

Stopped here to try it out randomly. I am pleased with the atmosphere and the view of the bay is fantastic! Ordered a Michelob ultra and the shrimp poboy. Doc's is a really great place to eat but kind of pricy. I'm from Panama City and used to getting cheap oysters. But overall I really liked it. Would go back. I love the 3 cheese pepper oysters. The bread that comes with it is what makes it. I guess you pay for what you get for! read more

Excellent food. I recommend going during off peak hours but the wait for food is worth it. We have many relatives that visit for vacation and we usually take them here for sea food. Oysters are always exceptional but fish is great as well. We usually go once per week when in town. It is worth paying the tolls for mid-bay bridge if you are in Destin. read more

Went to Doc's last week and the ONLY downside is that they are 'pricey'. The atmosphere was GREAT! Right on the water, AWESOME music, & pork tacos to DIE for!! A great variety of local beers, and my family enjoyed the seafood too! We now live 5 minutes fron Doc's and when we have the $$ to splurge, i'm sure we will be back! read more

Doc's Oyster Bar has a killer view -- right on the water, which definitely sets the mood. The oysters were fresh and full of flavor, but a few came out way overcooked. Like, borderline cremated. That said, the rest of the meal was solid, and the atmosphere made it worth the stop. Just hoping they keep a closer eye on the grill next time because we'll definitely be back! The best shrimp Po boy sandwich I have ever had here in Florida. I've tried many places but this still takes the cake. The shrimp is so good and the bread is tasty. They put it on the grill which gives it that yummy grill taste. The fries are also amazing! They have great seasoning and crispness on them. My family and I love their food. Our server didn't come by our table for over 45 minutes. We ended up canceling our order and leaving from how angry and tired we were. Our server was busy talking to regulars/other customers instead of bringing us our food. Thankfully the owner cleared our tab. Most of my family, including me, have worked in the restaurant in for a while and saw how terribly run this place was. This is a horribly run establishment with no sense of urgency or responsibility for their customers. DO NOT GO HERE.

They had a large table per set up for our large group with water and everything ready. The servers were helpful friendly and even engaging. What stood out to me was the taste of the food. I ordered the grouper and with the sauce and runny rice dish it had amazing taste. I spent $68 with my drink and learned how to make adobo from my Philipina server for no extra charge. We ordered the kid's chicken tender meal, pretzel bites, chips & salsa, and Caesar salad with grilled chicken. The food is well made and good quality for the money. Usually, I am disappointed with hotel food. The service was friendly and attentive even during happy hour they were able to keep up with drinks and food. It was off season so we mainly sat inside at the restaurant space. It is nicely decorated with plenty of seating and some table games to keep the kids busy. The Caesar salad was huge with fresh greens and large pieces of chicken. The chicken tenders were also huge and meaty. And the fries with seasoning were addictive. I was also surprised the pizza was good. I had expected it to be either overly salty or taste like plastic. If you just want to stay in, it is a good alternative and to be honest it was better than some of the surrounding restaurants.
