Food is terrible and overpriced. I understand it's at the resort, but it's still overpriced. Service is lacking.

The food is pretty crappy here. The deviled Agfa with bacon are tasteless. The fries are mushy and tasteless. The pot roast grilled cheese was ok but given all of the other choices close by... Skip this place unless you like cafeteria style food. read more

I Was waiting on my husband to get done riding, and decided to pop into Doc's since it was the first place I saw. At first I decided to sit at the bar and just order a beer, but the bartender was more interested in the gentleman that she obviously knew, then to take care of the three people that had come to the bar. After ten minutes of waiting and not even an acknowledgement from the bartender, i asked the hostess if I could sit outside. I waited another 15 minutes once outside, and the bartender decided to come out. Making it known that no one told her she had a table outside and she usually doesn't have tables outside. I told her all is well and I was in no rush and it's not a problem. I ordered an IPA and the spinach dip. IPA was good, spinach dip was mediocre. When my husband arrived, I made it known the bartender was serving us and it would make it easier on her if he went inside to order a drink. He did so, and the bartender told him that if he's sitting outside he needs to order with the server assigned to his table. He explained that she was in fact our server and she said she wasn't. Me thinking that this must be some sort of mistake I went inside and explained to her that he was my husband and I figured it would be easier on her for him to come inside instead of her running back and forth. She decided to state "you're cute, but I am not your server. Never was." Totally thrown off guard and completely confused, I decided to ask another waitress for our tab. The other waitress stated that she can't print it for me due to the fact that the bartender was my server. I explained to her that she apparently is not my server anymore, and I don't care who brings my tab out, I'll take anyone. In the end the manager brought it out. Overall, I enjoyed the view, just unfortunate that you can't find good help these days, and or you walk into bad attitudes. I once was a server/bartender too. I know how frustrating it can be to have to keep the bar as well as tables, still doesn't give anyone the right to be rude to paying customers. read more

Friendly staff but the food was absolutely terrible. I understand the high prices but was expecting decent food to go accordingly. The food appeared to be made without any effort and was tasteless. The kids in our party had frozen microwaveable chicken tenders and the fruit cup could have at least been poured in a bowl. Instead, it was a fruit cup in a plastic container purchased from a grocery store. McDonald's could've made a better burger than their $17 burger selections. read more

Let me start off by saying their pancakes were fantastic! Big and fluffy and tender, two people could easily split one of their breakfast orders. Doc's does pancakes right. Everything was downhill after that, though. My coffee cup was filthy in the bottom, which I obviously didn't realize until I made it to the bottom of the cup. The bacon didn't taste like bacon, it tasted like it had been cooked on a filthy grill that's seen a lot of...maybe lard? It just didn't taste right. My daughter, who is a bacon fiend, refused to eat hers. But at least there were pancakes. read more

Nothing special about this place. Everyone was friendly and courteous. The wait staff seamed a little confused at first (not sure who's table we were sitting at), one server asked us about drinks, then another actually took the drink order. Once we ordered food, it came out in a reasonable time, it was just ok. I'm not saying it's a bad place to eat, but the menu is boring, no signature dish, some dishes are bland. Such a great place to get an awesome happy hour drink! Our bartender, Summer was so amazing, my husband is really critical of all bartenders and waiters/waitresses and he had nothing bad to say about Summer. We ordered beers, Old Fashioned's, and house margaritas, all were AMAZING! The food was also great! We ordered the queso fries and they were also delicious. This place knows how to cook a burger! I got mine with their specialty onion rings and was quite pleased. Also one of a few places on the mountain that serves exclusive Mary Jane beer. I'll return on my next ski trip. read more

Well, it is pretty clear that Doc's is in the resort money making business rather than the food service business. I ordered the chips and queso with the intention of ordering more, however my plan quickly changed with the first bite of my factory made "day old" tasting chips and mediocre queso that set me back a mind bending $13.00. Did I mention that it was absolutely a one person portion? Steer clear of Doc's you'll do better elsewhere. read more

The atmosphere is a typical pub at the base of a ski area. Pub food is fine, but the real treasures are the dinners. The food is outstanding home style food. We have had pot roast, meatloaf, pork brisket and everything was really good. Prices are reasonable and staff is friendly and efficient. Don't let the location keep you from going. read more

Good little place for drinks and appetizers. They have a great tap selection (Odell 90 Shilling on tap!) and the queso fries are excellent. Typical mountain prices (over $10 for apps and $15 for drinks). Good for families. If you're just going for drinks and appetizers it's definitely a 4-star place. read more

We went skiiing for the first time in Winter Park, Co. The first night we went to Doc's and the food was very good! We were a family of seven and ordered the pot roast grilled cheese (yes, it's worth it), pulled pork sandwich, and burgers. Everything was well seasoned, great portions, and the beef is local and fresh daily. Our server named "Johnny G" made our experience more than wonderful!!! He knew everything about the area and gave us great recommendations on skiing. Even if the food had not been as good as it was, we would go back to hang with Johnny G. He was more than accommodating and knowledgable about the menu and area. Definitely going back to Doc's!!! read more

First of all the staff here is awesome! I have had great experiences, with exceptional customer service at Doc's! The upstairs patio is wonderful for a drink. Fish tacos and burgers have done me well, and really the menu all looks pretty good, so I can never decide what to order. Prices are a bit high, but as others have noted here, it is a ski resort, so you have to expect things to be a little elevated all the way around. During the summer there are also 2-for-1 promos on Tuesdays. read more

We booked a party of 13 for the Torchlight and dinner afterwards. Everyone in our party thought the adult beverages, sugar cookies, and chocolate covered marshmallows were a hit. Definitely worth the price of admission. The menu for the evening had some real great selections and our service was fantastic. The place was packed but we were seated promptly and the food was very well proportioned. The funnel cake fries were an extra bonus that was enjoyed by all! My wife and I were staying at the resort for a week and we loved this place! The food was good but what really made our night was the service. After having rude service at Derailer we decided to try Doc's and it was wonderful. When we arrived the place was pretty busy (understandable for a Saturday lunch) yet our server, Rachel, treated us like we were her only tables. She took time to answer our questions and we decided to try her recommendations. I had the pot roast grilled cheese and my wife had a margarita and the greek salad and everything was delicious. The water had pulp in it(?), never gave us refills, the dressings on the salads were tap water, my nachos had a whole damn salad on top and all the bbq sauce went on that instead of the meat. Bartender might be blind or something because he/she put jack daniels with a splash of coke in my friends drink. To top it off, you pay $20+ for a less than mediocre meal. I've been coming to Docs for years, usually after skiing, and they're always good for drinks. Today we came for lunch - the deck is awesome, but the service and food quality was really poor. At the advice of our waiter we ordered the pulled pork nachos for $16.95, which ended up being horrible - the pulled pork was mostly huge pieces of fat, the chips were drenched in sugary BBQ sauce. My husband will eat almost ANYTHING and even he couldn't handle it. When we expressed our view on the dish with our waiter, instead of trying to find a way to make our experience better, he proceeded to tell us that he doesn't like them either (even though he recommended them to us!), and that tons of people like them. We were still charged full price even though we only ate 3 bites. This experience was a big let down. read more

Let's see. food is decent. That chicken- fried chicken was YUMMY. Two of us had that. One had the pulled pork nacho, and if she had bothered to read the other reviews, she would not have done that! Simply awful. Waiter appeared higher than a kite, kept forgetting stuff, but it was slow and raining outside, so we forgave him ( see review of Lime) Charm will take you a LONG way, so he still received a decent tip. It helped that the manager.cook (not sure which) came to check on us. Other than youngsters at the bar, we were one of only two tables. It may seem counter intuitive, but I know that makes waiters forgetful. This young man appeared 420 forgetful, but as I said earlier, charm will take you a long way! All the reviews are correct. Bad tasting food and overpriced. I had the salmon w mac n cheese and they served kraft mac n cheese. The blue cheese coleslaw was bland and lacked any flavor. The rest of my group wasnt impressed. I'd rather eat somewhere else. What a rip! The only upside was my margarita which was $12, but pretty good. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE We just finished having dinner here and I left the place angrier than I have been in a while. We are staying at the Iron Horse and are on the shuttle route so thought we would try it out, since the on line menu looked promising. It's freezing cold outside, shuttling downtown was not a popular idea, and with no other dinner options nearby, we decided to take a chance even though we knew it would be over-priced like all the restaurants in the village. We were meeting another couple who were also at the Iron Horse and three other friends who were staying in town. When we arrived, at 7:15 pm, we were greeted at the door by a hostess who's FIRST words to us were 'we close at 8:00.' This obviously took us by surprise. The hostess, seeing our dismay, hurried to tell us that they were just not seating anyone after 8:00pm. We told her we had friends coming and she informed us that they would have to arrive by 8 or would not be seated, even though we were already there. Our friends from the Iron Horse were already there and we were seated with them. They told us that that the hostess had been hassling them about when we were arriving because they were closing at 8:00. We discussed leaving, but our friends had already ordered drinks. We called our friends who were on their way from town to tell them what was going on. They had arrived but were having trouble trying to find a place to park so they elected to go elsewhere. We told them we would eat and then meet them. Our waitress was fine, the food was OK, but as we finished up (at 8:30pm!), I noticed the hostess cleaning off tables and shooting us dirty looks over her shoulder. We were not being loud or doing anything offensive to the maybe 7 other people in the place. Then, after paying our check, we noticed two men walk in the door at 8:45pm. They were immediately seated and given menus by the same hostess!! As we were walking out the door, I found our waitress and asked her to call the hostess over. I told our waitress she had been great. Then I looked our hostess face-to-face and told her that she first of all is a liar since she seated people after 8, second of all obviously had anger issues since she kept giving us dirty looks, and last of all should NOT be in customer service since she has no concept of what that means. She apologized and said 'I guess I was misinformed about our closing time.' Even if that were true, which I don't believe at all, it still doesn't excuse her rude and inappropriate behavior. Nothing in this restaurant is worth being subjected to rudeness like this. Needless to say, we will never be back and we would not recommend it to anyone! read more
