AMAZING!!! Very good service and food was amazing! Prices are not bad at all and very welcoming.

Empty glass that never is refilled.
Bjorn P.

Service was worse than bad. Don't come hungry or thirsty, because you will be waiting to get food or drink for a very long time. I get it, you are captive at the base of winter park, but I would still avoid. There are better options just down the plaza. You have been warned. Picture of this empty glass is what you should expect if you visit..

Beautiful day for the patio. Gondola in view. Food was great. Drinks were great. Service was good.

The service and ambiance was nice and chilled. They also had happy hour from 3-6. Depending on where you are sitting in the restaurant you have a great view of people coming down from the slopes. My friends and I opted to share a meal and it was really good. The chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans and the chicken sandwich with onion rings. I didn't care for the sweet pickles on the sandwich but everything else was delicious. We also had the nicest server.

Docs Roadhouse, this restaurant is one of the worst options on the plaza! The service is terrible and the food is extremely mid and expensive. If you come to this place thirsty good luck because you get your refilled drink every 40 mins. Also I came here on the day of the national championship and they had one tv working in the entire restaurant and it doesn't even have volume!

Servers were fun and attentive, but this review is really quality/amount of food vs the menu price. I understand restaurants have to deal with inflation, but these 4 chicken tenders should not be $20-22 and this small side of fries in no world should be $7! Probably came out to $0.50 a fry. If you keep that price, the size should be a bowl of fries, not in a small cup. Just beware for food prices, they know you are hungry after a day of skiing, but I'd rather get quick service on the mountain and not worry about a tip because this place is essentially the same as a lodge for chicken tenders and fries.

False advertising drink menu

First of all $10 beers, $19 sandwiches that are terrible. I ordered the Mary Jane Draft on their "drink specials list" that was listed as $5. They charged me the $10 price and when I asked the waitress she simply said that it was a Super Bowl deal even though that was not listed on the specials menu at the table!! I ended up paying $10 for a beer that I thought was on special. Just look at this drink menu that was on the table and tell me that this beer doesn't cost $5, because that's what they did. Don't go here whatever you do, bad food, worse service. Edit: the food actually made me sick the following night as well. DO NOT GO HERE!

We weren't sure where to eat while up in Winter Park and decided barbecue was the way to go. Doc's Roadhouse did not disappoint! The server was very kind and the drinks were strong. Prices were up there but being on a mountain, I suppose it's merited! You have a great view of the slopes from most of the tables.

The salmon was like eating a saddle that has been in the bottom of the ocean. The other dishes were average at best.

Poor food and bad service. Made us wait 20 min for table despite a lot of open seating. Kitchen very slow and food below average.

Good spot to watch sports games too, they have a lot of TVs around. Ordered the double ditch burger with onion rings, and a house marg. The burger was awesome. Definitely filling and the move after a long ski day. The onion rings were good too - nice and crisp. The marg was strong and a fair price. If the weather is nice enough I suggest sitting on the patio. They have a gorgeous view and plenty of seating. We tried the Juantons and they are served with their spicy green chile. It was too spicy for me so we got a side of queso and it was perfect for dipping in. I would get these again. The margs are good here too. Pretty strong.

When I came there were at least 35 people and it was just the bartender taking care of everyone both at the bar and the "restaurant". It took 35 minutes for him to come get our order. We got a steak that was pretty good, nothing g fancy. A smash burger with stale waffle Fries that left brown oil on the plate. I ate here twice over a span of 3 nights and they were out of Katsup the whole time. I mean, how hard is it to go to the local Safeway and get some katsup? I love the bar setup, and it was a really fun vibe with all the tourists hanging out. Met some nice people visiting :) Beer selection was pretty good, and the appetizers I had were alright! Nothing bad just super greasy and yeh it was decent food. I think the 3 rating average they have is about right. Service made me feel like I was unwelcome which is unusual since I rarely get that vibe at places. Anyways, would have been a 4 rating with some relatively friendly service but anyways, still decent all around.

When we arrived, there was a medical situation with a guest, and an ambulance came to assist. Obviously, that takes priority, and we were patient and understanding. However, after the situation cleared, we continued waiting another 20 minutes. During that time, several groups who arrived after us were seated first. When I politely asked the host about our status, I was told those groups were seated because they were smaller parties. That didn't appear to be accurate, and when I mentioned that, the response quickly became rude and dismissive. At that point, we decided there was no reason to stay and left for dinner elsewhere. The next day, we ate at Tin Plate Pizza--fantastic food and excellent service. Ironically, while walking past Bird and Cow afterward, we noticed their kitchen area through an open back door, and it did not appear clean or well-kept. In hindsight, we're glad things worked out the way they did--but overall, this was a frustrating experience driven by inaccurate wait times and poor customer service.

We just made it a few minutes before the end of happy hour and was able to give the Pork Green Chili Cheese Fries and the Fried Pickles a try. Amazing prices for their happy hour too! We had burgers, the salmon risotto and the steak sandwich. Everything was so tasty. If I had to absolutely nitpick, the fried pickle is the chip style that I love but it was way over seasoned. When the Latina in the group tells you it's too salty, that's telling you something. I tried the pickle on the burger and it was already brined salty, then if you bread that and fry it and then season it... it was unbelievably salty.... Overall the salmon was well cooked, the burgers juicy and the steak sandwich super tender. The bar decor was super pretty and the service amazing.... The items on the menu had average prices to them, so there was no sticker shock on that end but, when did restaraunts start charging extra for sides of ranch?! It's not enough to cover your restaraunt costs with the $25 burger I just ordered? Excellent BBQ, sauces, sides AND margaritas!…read more We're here in WP for three weeks. This is our second visit to The Smokehouse in the last 10 days. The first time we were disappointed upon arrival when they were out of burnt ends. We're from KCMO and we judge a town's BBQ by their burnt ends. Nonetheless, the brisket, sauces and sides were enough to warrant a second visit. Oh, and that house margarita...chef's kiss! Just what a tired ass mom needs after a long day of "hey moms." On the second visit, I went early at 4PM and ordered carryout. AND a margarita while I waited! The margarita is simple, the perfect size and made with all fresh ingredients. It rivals more notable ones around town. This time, they had ALL the burnt ends and boy, were they worth the wait! I got a one meat platter with burnt ends, collards and Mac n cheese. My husband got a two meat platter with burnt ends, brisket, beans and slaw. We got KC and Texas sauces (they have 5 or 6 to choose from, all inspired by different BBQ regions in the US). Both platters came with cornbread which is the only thing that needs some work IMHO. It's small, dry and not worthy of the calories. But EVERYTHING else was soooo good! Fatty, juicy, flavorful meats. Balanced sauces. And delicious sides! The Mac, collards and beans get an A+, the slaw is a solid B. Service was great on both visits. Friendly, efficient and fast! One thing to note is they have an adorable patio. I've not eaten out there yet but it's well maintained with lots of flowers and good coverage from the sun. Might have to check it out on our third visit!
