My dog is in great hands here!! Awful! Dropped my dog off for 15 minutes and turned around and went back! I could see on the cameras that she was stressed out jumping on the door to get out the entire time I was gone. Not a single person in sight. The room was FILLED with Piss!!!!! I'm new to the area had already taken her to another daycare and never saw her so stressed before. I was simply checking out other options only to realize my first choice was the best choice! Also, I paid when I dropped her off and the owner said he wouldn't charge me so I thought I would see a refund...Nope! But in all honesty, I didn't even care at that point I was almost in tears that my dog was left in this filthy place! I wasn't going to argue or tell him how disgusting this facility was. I'm pretty sure he knew. Would not recommend! I only gave it a star because I had to in order to post this review. I don't write reviews often so this is also saying a lot. read more

I used to take my dog here then took a break. I've tried to schedule meet and greets for my dogs, because it's been a while I have to start the process over again, and can not get a hold of anyone. I had to reschedule one due to a schedule conflict and I haven't been able to get in touch with anyone since. I've called and emailed and nothing. I tried to schedule grooming. Made an appointment over the phone. Got there and no one knew what was going on, they sent me to the Wilmington location and of course they didn't have the appointment I scheduled with Elsmere not them. The last time I was able to take my dog, she was groomed after a day of play and her ear was bleeding at pick up. I noticed when I got her in the car. Tried to talk to them about it and no one knows how it happened. "Maybe it happened in the car" is what they told me. All in all, pretty disappointed and the money is not worth the headache. Most likely will never bring my dog back here. read more

Groom was OK except for burning dog with clippers/ service below standard pricing shady. Return customer ? no. Service: phone call told me range of groom price. Groomer met me got my details (poodle cut/ clean feet) and started on the groom. Was not notified she felt he was matted. She said he had tight curls & leaves with my dog seems all ok! Fast forward to pick up- got charged extra for matted toy poodle. He had been groomed 2 months before so do not agree the dog was that matted. Also, after taking him home, his cleaned feet i noticed his feet were burned and his left side of face was also burned. You can tell when ur dog keeps licking himself post groom that he's been burned. Groomer said she had over 20 years of experience so why are you burning my dogs feet and face ? Fast forward 60 days later.. took my dog to Petco, said he was easy to groom, didn't burn him. read more

Our puppy, Arlo, has been going to "doggy daycare" for 3 months. He absolutely LOVES this place. He gets all wound up every morning when it's time for "school" and disappointed on the weekends when he can't go. The staff has been outstanding from the first call to schedule a walk through. read more

Thank you Dogtopia. You watch Hazel and Lady from Nov 23 to Dec 2. Ten days a super long time for our two pups. Husband and I went away to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. At one time Hazel decided to stop eating, and the staff felt terrible and went to Chick-fila for nuggets to encourage her to eat, which worked! That shows the concern and heartfelt sympathy they have for your dogs, which is what every dog owner wants. The staff there is genuine. After coming home and super long naps, our pups show no ill effects of a super long kennel. Again Thank You Dogtopia, you Rock! read more

In August 2020, my wife and I took our senior dog to be groomed at Dogtopia. We have been a loyal customer of theirs for approximately 5 years. In our opinion, Dogtopia has always had a high turnover rate with their groomers. When we picked up our dog, they told us not to bring her back because she had anxiety. When we got home, we found blood stains on the seat of the car. Upon examining our dog's belly, we found several raw burn marks. We treated them immediately. Since we were furious with what we saw, we called Dogtopia immediately. The Manager indicated that she did not know anything about it but would have the groomer call us. I texted the pictures of the exposed burned areas, and the groomer apologized. The groomer called the next day, but we were so upset we could not even talk to her. Dogtopia burned our dog's skin, did not give the wounds any attention, nor did they tell us what happened. After that horrible experience our baby was anxiety ridden being bathed and groomed. If you love your pet like we do, we do not recommend bringing your pet near this place!!! read more

When I first came to visit Dogtopia I was pretty pleased with the set up and the staff. I quickly found out this place was not all it was cracked up to be. My former doggie daycare closed. The owner and staff would always tell you about your dog's day when you came to pick up your dog. At Dogtopia, it was more a "thanks, please pay, take your dog and get out." They were evasive and hated when you asked them questions about your dogs day and almost acted annoyed like you were bothering them. You had to pull anything out of them positive or negative. I like to know if my dog played and interacted with other dogs during his day but this wasn't information they would readily share. The first and biggest concern I have is my dogs always came home smelling like urine. When I questioned it, the owner said "they must have used too much cleaner on the floor and didn't wipe it up properly." I do not know how stupid she thinks I am but I reminded her that they did not smell like cleanser they down right smelled like urine. She did not have an answer for me and quickly changed the subject. This happened more than once. Never was anyone able to give me a proper explanation as to why they wreaked of urine after leaving Dogtopia. They would allow dogs to bully other dogs and seemed to think it was amusing. They refused to stop it yet would tell customers how their dogs were bullies. Additionally they would get an attitude when you ask a favor like to keep their eye on something specific about your dog such as if they had a BM or if they were drinking water during the day (maybe due to a condition or issue the pup may have been having.) I was not happy with the mandatory nap time in the crates as you can see dogs will just rest when they are tired at doggie day cares that do not have nap time. It seemed like this was a chance for staff to just get their own break from the pups. Lastly, one of their claims to fame is that they have cameras. Unfortunately, when you looked at the cameras you would see staff standing against a wall ignoring the dogs. Sometimes you would see them walking away from the dogs and the dogs looking for the staff to play with them and chasing after them. It was not very frequent that you saw them playing with the dogs or interacting with them. While some like this place I was not pleased and will be finding a new doggie daycare for my pups. read more

We take our dog Moo to Dogtopia about once a week. She comes home exhausted every time and is very happy to be there. The staff is always very friendly and also the lobby is always clean and smells good. I have been to other dog daycares and their lobby didn't smell that great. I will never forget the first time we took Moo home from Dogtopia. She fell asleep in the back seat with her head on the seat and the rest of her was on the floor. She was so exhausted! read more

Great location. Took both our dogs there (Siberian husky and half husky) for grooming etc. Always did a good job.

The location was clean. The staff was very helpful, caring and understanding. My dog looked great after her much needed bath and haircut. I will be back. Ming, my miniature poodle, had a bad experience at previous groomers so I was very anxious when I dropped her off and was so pleased to see her happy disposition when I picked her up after her grooming. We are new to the area so she also had an evaluation so that she could attend daycare and boarding. I'm sure my review will go up to 5 stars once I utilize those services. read more

My dog LOVES coming he was attacked by two large dogs when he was quite young and wouldn't go around other dogs. After a few days at Dogtopia he learned to play again. I love how the staff cares for him while he's there. He plays hard when he's there and behaves better when he comes home because he has used up so much energy playing with the other dogs! read more

Went here because I was told they took walk ins. When I came I was told, I'll do you a favor this time. My dogs nails we're trimmed, I specifically said not to use the drill. I was told okay. However, I was charged 20.00. when the price chart said 15.00. I'm not sure if I was charged more because of a walk in or just over charged. read more

My three dogs love Dogtopia Elsmere. Especially our Lab, Hoagie! The management is exceptional there. They are very accommodating. The play rooms are large with good ventilation and light ( your dog wont smell when he gets home!). The dogs also play in an outside area, which is a plus for potty breaks. Love to get Hoagie a bath there also, they do a great job for a great price! I have tried many dog daycares, this is my favorite. The room attendants are very well trained, as I watch on camera they are quick to respond to a scuffle and get messes cleaned up instantly. Try them for daycare, bath, boarding and see for yourself- you and your pooch will be glad you did! Thank You Dogtopia Elsmere!! I love love love this place!! I've gone to multiple pet groomers in the Wilmington/New Castle area and I've always had very bad experiences. From the minute I walked in to the minute I pick up my puppy from getting groomed, the experience is amazing! Anita "front desk" is always super friendly & professional! Aneida the "groomer" loves my wittle Chica & gives her the best grooming ever! They all know who my puppy is & take care of her so much. I highly recommend this place to everyone. I mean they are booked a month or two in advance already, but it's totally worth the wait, they are THAT good! read more

Dogtopia is great! They are a friendly staff and the care they take with my dog is abundantly clear. They know all the dogs by name and they let me know if there is ever an issue. They have little events throughout the weeks every month, like celebrating birthdays and any pertinent holiday celebrations. During the summer they even have a splish splash day. They post pictures of these events on their Facebook page. I'm pretty sure my dog loves it there; his ears perk up whenever I say "Dogtopia." Would highly recommend! read more

I went here to get my 2 dogs groomed. The woman didn't even care to know my dogs' names and was about the throw them into small, rusted crates until she had time to bathe them when I swiftly changed my mind and took them home. Yikes... This is NOT somewhere I'd recommend taking any dog! read more

I love Dogtopia, more importantly my dog (the Tzu) loves Dogtopia. I have been going for close to two years after briefly going to a different "dog day care". For me this is a great service, if I leave my dog home every day she gets a bit wired. A few days a week and a weekend day is beneficial for the Tzu and affordable. My observations: Facility- very clean Staff- very friendly - everyone knows the Tzu. I like the big windows in each room. I like the nap time - down time for the dog Although adequate, I wish they had a larger outdoor area, though understand that is out of their control. win-win- I get to support local business and get a good and affordable service. read more
