If I could give zero stars, EVEN NEGATIVE, I would! DO NOT take any double coated or wooly long haired dogs or ANY dog here! They do not know what they are doing! My dogs wanted out so bad! I do not think my dogs were treated well at all! and they are in pain and still have fur that is knotted and matted! They also did absolutely no trimming or cutting of the hair, just complete hard brushing and pulling on my poor dogs skin! They also did not clean ears, cut nails, trim the fur around the feet, the back end, the ears, the face and did not brush underneath of them or their tails! What in the world did they do for 5 hours?!? I was in tears for putting my sweet pups thru this! Please do NOT go here! This is why you can get an appointment immediately! My pups loved the groomers and now they are terrified and in pain AND injured!!! Please stay far away from here! and no thank you from them for the tip that NEVER should have been given!! I should have received a phone call saying that they could not work on my dogs as they have no experience in dealing with thick double coated long hair! Horrible and so upsetting! Extremely overpriced for work that was NOT done!!! But Its not even the money! I'm so upset for my dogs and the pain that this is causing for my sweet babies and the sores! And the supposed owner did NOT work on my dogs! And they were still working (supposedly) on my one when I got there!! He looks like they only brushed him when I got there! Who knows what kind of people that she has working behind the scenes, they obviously are not trained in grooming and I don't believe they are even kind to the dogs!! The supposed owner let my one dog loose with no collar or leash on and she pushed the door open and ran outside and did not want to come back in!!! My pups wanted out of there, SO BAD, that they, literally tried to run from there and she just stood there, doing nothing, watching my dog leave! Thank God, I was able to get her! They also left a dog chained on the grooming table, all by himself unattended when I walked in, and was still there when I left 30 minutes later! This dog could have seriously hurt himself! Please do NOT take your dogs here! I am so sorry I did! My poor dogs are SO traumatized and in pain! I am so upset and mad!!! And my dogs were not given ANY water, they were panting SO much and they didn't want to stop drinking when I got them to my car after we left! STAY FAR AWAY! read more

My puppy does not need "special" shampoo or have any health conditions as the owner states in his reply. They mix water into the shampoo causing contamination. The groomer Shannon admitted they do it all the time there. This breeds bacteria and causes post grooming furunculosis. Their negligence caused my dog immeasurable suffering - 105 fever and could barely walk for days. Beware of this salon and owner - he never reached out to see how my dog was after I informed them of the contamination. That should tell you everything you need to know. read more

While most dog grooming facilities are booked out for 3 to 4 weeks, Silly Dogs new location in north Wilmington were able to schedule my two Shih Tzu dogs within days. My pups can be a challenge at times, even with their long-time groomer back in Georgia, but Rochelle was a calming presence in a comfortable environment. Their experience was very good, they looked great, and they were happy (many times in the past my dogs would be mad at me for hours for taking them to get bathed and trimmed :) ) I am very pleased with the nice grooming job, and we all look forward to our next visit. read more

Our 115 lb golden retriever spent the week swimming at Deep Creek Lake and smelled horrible We tried multiple times to bathe him ourselves but we couldn't get rid of the smell. He just got back from Silly Dogs and he looks and smells AMAZING! They gave him the cutest puppy cut, too. They were extremely friendly and have great prices. It's smart to have a really nice person at the front desk here. This place is so convenient and they do a fine job on my large dog but it's as if the groomer really dislikes my little Havanese. I spent an hour brushing him out before the appointment, piece by piece. The only area I didn't get was his belly, which I'm fine with shaving. They told me to arrive at 11. Over three hours later I called to check in (because in the past they didn't have my correct number) and they hadn't started grooming him. A half an hour later he was ready. The groomer had shaved him. I asked for a trim. It even says "Teddy Bear Cut" on his chart. He obviously ran out of time and did the quickest cut. The cut is in no way appropriate for his breed. It's choppy and poorly done. It's going to take a long time for it to grow back. And it was over $80, of course I still tipped. I'm never going back there. I would have spoken to them but I find the groomer extremely unfriendly and I know he'll say he was matted everywhere, which is untrue. A real professional would take the time to give a good grooming. read more

The staff was very friendly and listened to what I wanted done to my pup (or so I thought). However, she made it a point to repeatedly tell me she cleaned my dogs ears. Then, upon returning home, I saw that her ears looked exactly the same and still had crud in them. I had to clean them myself. I also had to try to trim the hair that I expressed multiple times needed to be cut as it was getting long and bothering my dog. It was reasonably priced and a cute place but I probably will not go back based on the fact that I was basically lied to. read more

I was finding it next to impossible to find a groomer for my dog when I called Silly Dogs. I was pleasantly surprised to get an appointment rather quickly . The shop was immaculate and my dog treated kindly and professionally. His cut was superb. I highly recommend this facility. read more

I brought my dog here to get groomed. It was his first time being groomed at this establishment. There were no prices listed for services when I filled out the paperwork besides the up charge for deshedding shampoo which was an extra $20 for a large dog. When I came to pick my dog up and pay for the services they did not tell me how much it was going to cost. I put my card in the machine and it rung up $100 before tip. The only services I had listed was a bath, brushing (after bath), and nails trimmed. They told me they cut his nails but were unable to file them down because he was moving too much. They suggested I walk him on the concrete so he doesn't scratch me if he jumps on me. They also told me it was hard to do his ears because he was moving around and because of his size. The place I normally take my dog to is $80 including tip. He gets a hair cut, bath, blowout, nails trimmed, and his ears cleaned. I have never had a complaint of his behavior or him being unhappy until today. He did appear to be brushed out well and clean. However, he seemed distressed leaving the groomers which doesn't ever happen. I was upset of how expensive it was for the services requested especially because he didn't even get his hair cut. The last thing that was said to me by the person that groomed him was "hopefully he does better next time". Sadly We will not be returning. read more

This is the most amazing place! The people that work here truly love what they do and it shows. They showed my pup so much love. I've had unpleasant experiences with other groomers in the past at other places and I was a little nervous about bringing my young pup anywhere. My friend referred me to Silly Dogs Grooming and she raved about Eneida and Alyssa, so I wanted to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! I have a small dog that was very scared upon arrival.
