Worst place I have ever take my dog multiple accounts of unexplained cuts and wounds on my dogs. When management was asked about where these wounds came from the video footage always was unavailable or injuries would be blamed on the dog and said it happened at home. Use this place as a last resort. If your dog hasn't been there in a while they require you to bring them a separate day (at full price) before your extended stay. While there our dog got some kind of stomach bug that has permanently damaged his stomach. They used to have people in the rooms watching the dogs, interacting, even training them at times. Now there is either no supervision or somebody standing in the room watching YouTube on their phone. They aren't as on top of cleaning up urine or feces as they used to be either so your dog will come home covered in it. Which you can watch for yourself on their cameras. So I had high hopes for this place with all its good reviews. After searching we decided on Dogtopia to board our 10 month old puppy for the first time. We chose to board him for 4 nights. Day 1 we would check on him on the webcams and noticed he was always in the kennel every time I checked. I called and asked if there were issues with him, the lady simply said "he is just a little too hyper for some of the older grumpy dogs". Ok I get it, I didn't dig too deep into it. Well fast forward his 3rd day there I look at the camera immediately after nap time (1200-2pm) and I watch for 45 mins straight (yes I watched my dog for 45 mins straight because when I'm paying $55 a night I expect my dog to be out and about not cooped up in a kennel. In these 45 mins he is let out twice: first time for about 2 minutes then immediately drug back into a kennel. We then called to see what the issue was because in those 2 minutes he literally did nothing wrong. (Keep in mind there are dogs "jumping and humping " each other everywhere. We called and the lady said My dog and another were put on 15 minute rotations, yet I watched for 45 mins straight and this wasn't true. Then the second time (I decided to record this) they let him out for about 1 minute, he jumped up on the playground thing and the lady pulls him off and throws him in a farther kennel thinking I can't see that my dog was in a kennel yet again. It is now 3:08, my dog has been in the kennel since nap time 1200. While he sits there pawing at the kennel wanting to play with every other dog that is out. Apparently I can not attach the video, but I will be happy to show it to any manager for this location or any dogtopia cares to hear me out. read more

I'm usually not one to write a review but I feel like I need to share our experience. I have been coming here for about a year with my two labs since moving to the area. I work long hours and need a place for my dogs (especially my chocolate lab) to run and play during the day. At first this place was very welcoming. Then after a while they seemed "over it" when I would bring my chocolate lab in. She is a ball of energy, but I bring her to play to release that energy. The staff always seems less than enthusiastic to see her when we check in. Sometimes they don't even know who she is when dropping off or picking up. She jumps on them which I know is wrong but I guess it comes with a territory at daycare. I assume the staff is used to dogs being a little less than perfect. The cameras are a great tool- without them I wouldn't know my girl is locked in the crate for a majority of the day and drug across the floor by her collar. I understand dogs can get into it but proper training needs to be in place by staff. Not dragging dogs or using physical force. I witnessed one staff member push her off the play equipment with both hands when she climbed up and got in his face (she likes to give kisses). When I bring up these examples, the front desk says "we will look into it". I was made aware that one time she jumped up in a staff members face and she "almost had to go to the hospital". I felt so guilty and didn't bring her in for a while. I decided to give it another chance and the same things happened- extended crate time, dragging across the floor, etc. So to protect my girl, she won't be returning. I hope this helps other pet parents looking for a place for their babies. read more

Boarded my 1 year old Rottweiler puppy board here for the weekend and he came back with a scab on top of his snout and on his forehead. Before being boarded at this place, his coat and other health conditions were perfect and was never hurt around his face area. His face is cleaned daily so seeing his scab on top of his forehead not only looks like a hole now, but hasn't improved at all and has only gotten worse. I don't know how they watch or care for the dogs after the cameras are off but it certainly looks deeper than anticipated before receiving him. They claim that he had the scab before coming in but I'm with my dog almost all day and if not, being watched through the home installed cameras. I'm very disappointed because now we have to worry about my dog's huge scab in the middle of his face that hasn't improved since he was boarded almost 3 weeks ago. read more

During the enrollment process for my dog I was told she would be surrounded by dogs her size (10 pounds). I noticed much larger dogs (boxers, labs, pit bulls) in the same room with her. Staff claims it's a rare occurrence but I noticed it everyday. I noticed my dogs behavior at home changing and she was no longer a happy dog and always seemed nervous. I don't know if something happened to my dog while at the facility, but I know my dog did not enjoy being there. read more

I took my dog for a few hours of daycare in preparation for a longer stay for an up coming vacation. Went to pick up my dog after work to bring him home and noticed he was acting sick and not wanting to eat or move. I examined him and found a large penetrating wound in his lower abdomen. It didn't look like a bite wound. I immediately took him to the vet. He needed anesthesia and suturing of a deep laceration that went thru the skin, subcutaneous fat, fascia, and muscle. It took a whole 2 weeks for him to heal from this. I had to cancel my vacation. I wrote to Dogtopia about the incident. They cannot provide me with an explanation. They did not want to reimburse the vet bill. They did not even respond to my second email, which is very unprofessional. I believe my dog was injured due to their negligence or abuse. I can see on video cam that the worker assigned to watch the dogs in group play was always playing with her phone. Also when I picked up my dog, they did not inspect him for any injury according to protocol. This establishment is unsafe for your pet and poorly managed. I do not recommend Dogtopia. read more

I would give them a zero rating if I could. They are the worst place I have dealt with and the staff is not efficient and not helpful at all. I have never ever dealt with such an incompetent place. My dog was there for an entire day for meet and greet and I had made it very clear that I do not send him to day care I only need their service for boarding him. The woman who checked me in for meet and greet agreed to that. When I called to book boarding the woman who was on the phone who claims to be a manager states that my dog needs two more days of day care before they can board him. This is the most ridiculous requirement I have heard. Either they are discriminating against me and people of color or they change their rules as and when it pleases them. Also on the Day I dropped off my dog for meet and greet there was no one at the front desk and they basically did not show up for 10 mins and were so slow and incompetent that they made me late for work. Do NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL. The owner needs to rethink their business plan. read more

I've never reviewed anything, but this place is ridiculous. I did a trial day with them to see if this would be a good fit for occasional day care. Right away they were nothing but negative. My dog is 9 months old, so of course he is going to be energetic and need to learn to be social, but he has never been aggressive. Never once thought he was anything but a happy energetic Lab. After the "interview" they said they would try a day and see how it goes. I dropped him off in the morning and the young lady was very nice and said she loved Labs and she seemed to be very comfortable with him and understanding about his energy. I even set up for him to be groomed, to see how they did with him. I picked him up at 3 PM and again, nothing but negative. Saying he was "just too aggressive." I asked what he was doing that was so aggressive. They said he was just "running around all day" and he was "being dominate to the other dogs." I asked if he was biting or fighting and they said no, but he was trying to mount some of the other dogs. Ok....young dogs tend to do that...I get that it is annoying, but they do that. And "running around all day"? Really?! Isn't that the point???? He's in a place full of other dogs! He's not going to run around?!?! I asked how the grooming went and she looked at me like I was insane! They didn't even groom him like they said they would!!!! I understand that not every place is going to work out, and I get it that he's an active, playful dog. I'm not naive enough to think he would be perfect. But saying he's too aggressive because he ran around all day and tried to mount some of the other dogs?! It's insane to think a dog wouldn't act that way! I didn't get a sense they wanted us there from the beginning, and I was right. Don't bother with this place unless your perfect dog won't run around act like a dog! read more

Very disappointed in this facility. I'm new to the area and I went to inquire about their daycare program. Upon walking in, its a very dull no frills kinda place, no big deal. The receptionist was unable to answer my questions, so I had to wait for the manager to get off the phone.That should've been a red flag, however I figured she was new (which she was). The manager proceeds to tell me about the program, which sounded great and I was seriously considering bringing my dog for an assessment. I asked to tour the facility, in which I'm told they cannot allow me to tour due to Covid, even though there is no confirmed cases of canine to human transmission, but whatever. As the manager is "selling" the facility to me, I'm watching the attendant with the dogs on the monitor. The man aggressively grabs the collar of the same dog 3 times and pushes the dog away (I also observed him doing it to another dog 2 times before I walked out). I asked the manager if this is normal procedure, in which she stated no and that she would talk with him. I asked the manager if he was new. She confirmed he has only been working there 2 weeks. I proceed to ask if the employees are trained how to work with dogs. She replies sometimes its difficult to be in the room with a lot of dogs (avoiding the question). I observed the monitor with the manger talking the entire time for 30 min. In that time, 2 dogs remained in the crate, while all the other dogs were playing. I asked the manager why the dogs were left in the crate. She proceeds to tell me that they release the dogs 2 at a time so its not a rush, mind you, all but these 2 dogs had been released when I entered the facility. So they had been waiting 25+ minutes to be released from the crate. When I informed the manager of my observation she again was unable to answer the question. I questioned the safety of the dogs well being due to the floor being wet and observing the dogs playing, continually slipping on the floor. She stated they dry mop the floor, well the guy did dry mop it, but half assed and the dogs continued to slip on the floor, over extending their hind legs. If you love your fur baby don't bring them to this facility!!!!! They have a great sales pitch and in theory it sounds great, but reality, your dog would not be safe here. With the obvious lack of staff training, staff aggressive behavior towards the dogs, lack of facility safety, and the fact the dogs are not taken potty before or after being crated this is an awful place to leave your dog!!!! read more

Dogtopia is amazing! I have been bringing my precious golden retriever son Leo here for years now, and we have been extremely satisfied each and every visit. It is only now, upon leaving the area, that I feel compelled to write a review. They always welcome my son with open arms when we arrive, he is always extremely happy while there (especially on their cute picture theme days), and I always pick up a very happy baby boy upon departure. I cannot say enough amazing things about Dogtopia, and I cannot give enough thanks to the personable employees there for taking such good care of him for all these years! Doggie Disneyland! Our dog loves coming here. When we get about three blocks away he knows where we're going and he almost can't contain himself with excitement. We have boarded our dog here many times for stays from a night or two up to longer trips of over a week. I love that during the day he has a packed, fun day playing with other dogs. (What dog doesn't want to wake up in the morning and find he's at Disneyland?) The staff is very warm and friendly. Love that they have webcams in all the rooms so you can check in on your dog throughout the day. They give a nap midday. If you have an energetic dog who loves to play, he will come home happy and exhausted. read more

I love these guys & more importantly, so do my doggies! I have two small dogs - one is a busy little guy and the other is pretty much anti-social. The anti-social one I kind of worried about because another doggie daycare in the area had sort of trash talked him for not behaving like a "normal" dog. All that means is that he likes people more than dogs. I brought the two of them into Dogtopia to give it a try and now my "anti social" one is so excited to go that he can barely contain himself. He recognizes landmarks on the way and as soon as we turn onto the streed where it's located, he starts to whimper with excitement! As for the company & atmosphere itself, they are always doing theme days where they take pictures of the dogs, they have a "spa" or "groomer" on site that is reasonably priced, which is super convenient, and they are always offering fun prizes or running specials for pet parents. They know the names of every dog who goes there (even if they don't know ours - ha) and their staff is super friendly and you can tell they love these guys. They have cameras so you can check on your dog during the day and they do boarding if you need it. Overall, I'm so glad we found these guys because my original taste for doggie daycare was really bad thanks to the original company we had tried out. I highly recommend them to anyone! read more

I have spent a lot of time in Dogtopia over the past few years and am always impressed how much every employee really loves your dogs! They are truly dog lovers and I always refer to your dogs experience when at their facility as ...'like the kids going to grandmas house!" The dogs have a great time! if you want to really check them out, go down to the facility and meet them, and see how happy the dogs are when they come in the door! Nothing like how they act when going for a vet visit! You can watch the dogs on the webcams because they are always televised AND ALWAYS supervised, and I love that accountability! I encourage every client to visit Dogtopia to socialize their dogs. Dogtopia is amazing!!! I'm writing my review about the grooming. I started bringing my dogs here after I met Patrick at my work. Having three dogs it gets a little tight on money getting them all groomed. However they offer a discount on the first visit so I decided to bring my cockapoo Domino who needs the most grooming. I have never been more satisfied with a groomer. She is absolutely amazing with my dogs they actually get excited to go on their mini grooming vacation. Domino was always really skiddish going to the groomers. They even for fun gave him a Mohawk and colored it blue. I highly recommend them for your dog grooming needs and they don't break your wallet. Friendly staff and a great, safe place for doggies to play for daycare and boarding. The only place I trust with my boys when they can't go along with us on trips or just need a fun day of play. We love Dogtopia Temecula!! Cooper has stayed there several times for boarding. The girls up front are so helpful and they make drop off and pick up so easy. We love to check in on our pooch on the webcams. When we adopted Cooper a 5 year old lab he didn't have a lot of socialization with other dogs. We were very happy that Dogtopia does an evaluation and doesn't accept all dogs! Luckily, Cooper did fine and gets along well with the other dogs. He seems very happy when we drop him off and is eager to go with the girls. He has learned great socialization through Dogtopia, we have taken him many places now with other dogs (Family &friends homes) and he does great! We have been taking Abbey (our mini dachshund) to doggie daycare at Dogtopia Temecula several times per month over the past year. Abbey is our only pet, so it is a treat for her to be able to play and socialize with other dogs when she visits their facility. Each time I drop Abbey off, we both receive a friendly greeting from the staff, and they always remember her name (quite impressive!). Being new to the area, we had visited a few other options before deciding on Dogtopia as our doggie daycare of choice, and are super happy with our decision. The other facilities seemed rather cold and sad, so when we found Dogtopia, we were quite surprised that such a really nice place for our little doggie was located nearby! Dogtopia always smells fresh, looks clean, and has staff that seem to really enjoy their jobs. Since Abbey primarily visits Dogtopia while we are at work, we really enjoy that we can view the facility's webcam at any point during her visit (excluding naptime) and see what our little doggie is up to. By the time we pick her up, she has had a fun filled day of play and exercise, returns to us calm and relaxed, and is ready to wind down with us for the evening. read more

My dog stayed 3 days here. I thought I'd give it a try regardless of the negative reviews. Unfortunately the moment I picked up my dog I knew something was up but I just chalked it up to him being overly tired. It wasn't like him to be laying around with no energy and no desire to eat or drink, he's a puppy. The next morning he woke up at 2 am vomiting and explosive diarrhea. This continued for the next 5 hours. On the way to the vet I had to pull over 3x for him to relieve himself. The vet did tests and it came back he had picked up a parasite.... nice staff but I definitely won't be back. read more

Love Dogtopia. I always know I can trust the staff to take care of my babies. I've been taking one of my dogs there since she was a puppy in the "romper" room and then once she got too big, she was transferred into the "gym" with the medium-large dogs (they separate the dogs based on size). They're given breaks, a nap time in the middle of the day with an optional snack (you can bring your own or they have some) and then they come back out later to continue to play. My dogs always get all their high energy out here and I can pick them up after work knowing they've had a fun day. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Tip would be bring your own blankets and bedding and food if they're boarding. Although they have all of that for them in case they need it, it's always nice for your dog to have things he or she is familiar with. read more

Went in just to get our two Pit Bull mix's nails trimmed because they give us a hard time if we try to do it ourselves. Dogtopia's employees took them in and got the job done (for the most part.) Clyde only allowed them to get his back nails clipped before he had enough. Very clean office/waiting room. I definitely enjoyed taking our dogs there, knowing they are in great care. It has taken me a while to post this review because the loss of our sweet lab Suede after staying here was so heartbreaking. Suede my lovable chocolate lab spent the Labor Day weekend last year here. When we picked her up she was horse and limping a bit. She went down hill from there. By the end of October we lost her. I would not recommend this place.
