We decided to stop and get some Gelato after our movie.It's located @ the District in Tustin right by the AMC theater.We were greeted by a very friendly employee who offered us tastings of any of their many different gelato flavors. The shop was very clean and not busy at all for an early afternoon on a Friday. I chose the small size half mango half Rocky Road. I thought is was pretty decent although I would suggest scooping the flavors side by side instead of one on top of the other to maximize eating both flavors at once but not a big deal. They also offer vegan options. There is no seating inside but there is plenty of comfy couches and chairs out front in a courtyard area. Overall a very nice experience come check them out! read more

So many amazing and unique flavors to choose from! I went with some of the classics this time because I wasn't feeling too adventurous and they didn't disappoint. The crème brûlée was creamy and had notes of vanilla all throughout while the coffee gelato was infused with a strong but not overpowering flavor of espresso. I went to this place 3 times before I submitted this review. Each time I went I was satisfied with what I had. There are many flavors and choices for vegans. They are mostly almond milk based but some are fruit juice. This time I had the best ones: The Little Mermaid(pandan and almond) and Toasted Black Sesame. I chose the Kid size with 2 flavors. Yummy gelato! This shop is located in The District next to the AMC theaters. There are plenty of outdoor tables with umbrellas where you can sit and enjoy your gelato next to the fountain. I perused the many flavors and decided on two scoops: espresso and peanut butter chocolate chip. The friendly chap behind the counter had my treat ready in a minute. I sat outside and enjoyed the creamy deliciousness of each scoop. The espresso had a solid coffee flavor, not too light like many ice cream shops. The peanut butter chocolate chip had a medium flavor (between being light and bold) but was a bit lacking in chips. I recommend you park in the little-known lot behind the theater (past the valet) as it is much easier than the crazed main entrance area. read more

Located in a nice outdoor mall, the gelato here surpassed my expectations. They only had one kid working there by himself, I felt bad for him but he tried his best and was friendly and willingly let me taste multiple flavors despite the line. I think maybe a movie had just let out, as there were about three parties ahead of me and another two behind me. They had some really unique flavors which I really appreciate, and am glad I got to taste some before. The lamai beach was interesting with ginger and turmeric and peanuts in it. The watermelon mojito and Cancun (strawberry, guava, lime) and Rio de Janeiro (papaya, passionfruit, and pineapple) were delicious. Fruity and refreshing. They had tons of great tropical flavors that you don't typically see at most ice cream or gelato shops. Prices were a little bit steep but the gelato/sorbet was great. Both of them worked together to scoop our gelato. It was nice to see them working as a team. It's was really shaved pieces of chocolate rather than entire chocolate chips was I loved. It added enough crunch to satisfy without being overly invasive. The good: WOW! The flavors here are so surprising and awesome! They had so many to pick from and they weren't boring flavors like vanilla. I couldn't decide which to get so I chose 4 flavors! I got the Oompa Loompa (Thai tea and marzipan with some purple glitter on top), snozzberry (mangosteen and cactus pear I think), banana cream and Ferraro Rocher gelato. I loved that you could get two flavors for even the kids cup for under $5. The flavor combinations were so unusual and amazing. I love the innovation and creativity. The interior was organized, clean and bright. There was plenty of outdoor seating. They also have milkshakes. They have vegan gelato flavors too. This place is located in an outdoor shopping area so you have to walk in toward the theater to get to this spot. I liked the chewy consistency of the gelato. The prices were reasonable. I definitely prefer gelato over ice cream because of the fun texture and the presentation of the gelato in large heaps with garnishes. I was really hankering for some great gelato. One of my favorite spots is Gelateria Paradiso in Laguna Beach. I guess I have to say that would be my benchmark. I was underwhelmed here I had a pistachio scoop and a scoop of what was called Capri a.k.a. lemon flavor. The pistachio tasted nothing like pistachio and the lemon was OK but not sweet and puckery tart like I would've liked it, Nor were the portions generous generous. I would rather go back to Gelateria Paradiso in Laguna Beach, or Newport at fashion island better. Baccio de Latte at Fashion Island is also more satisfactory. Got the opportunity to try their Ferro Rocher and Sea Salt Truffle Gelato tonight, and it was such good quality and texture. Irvine needs more gelato spots and I'm glad to see this place pop up! The store is eerily clean with the sweetest staff. It's clear that they take COVID protocol seriously and prioritize cleaning and organization. The texture is soft and creamy, with large portions even for the kids portion. There's a lot of sweetness and cream, so it's definitely not for the fragile stomach, but if you're a gelato fan, this is a convenient stop for sure! read more

The chocolate flavor was strong in the vegan chocolate almond milk, and the something point was delicious as well. It tasted like butter pecan, and included candied pecans which were perfectly crunchy and buttery. They don't skimp on scoop sizes. I ordered a kids size but they overfilled the cup (as shown in pic), and the prices are reasonable. They have so many interesting flavors, I would love to come back! The service was great. They let us try as many samples as we wanted, and were very friendly. I do wish there were nicer places to sit though, as the tables outside were not super clean. Originally tried ordering the half pint, but the lady said that they currently weren't offering those. Ended up getting the medium size, which lets you pick from 3 flavors; I picked Espresso, Pistachio, and Mango. Gelato seemed to be pretty good quality and wasn't overly/strangely colored, like very green for pistachio. Rather, it was lighter colored. Pistachio was my favorite amongst the three I picked from. It wasn't too sweet and was just right. Espresso was similar to what I've had from other places and balanced (not too light of a coffee taste). Mango (sorbet) is one of their vegan options. Personally didn't enjoy that flavor as much as the other two and won't get that again. Overall, a nice dessert option in a convenient area by the restaurants and theatre. This place didn't didn't have the right texture for gelato, but it was still creamy and smooth, so it tasted more just like soft serve ice cream. I split a small gelato with my boyfriend. I got the Ferrero rocher flavor. The first bite tasted yummy and did taste like a Ferrero rocher, but as I ate it more, the flavor became more mild and just tasted like vanilla ice cream. The flavor definitely needed to be richer. The scoop for my flavor was generous, so that was nice. It also seems like they change the flavors often. I always pair up a heavier flavor with a fruitier flavor so today I tried the Nutty Crunch Surprise and Banana Cream in a small. The Nutty Crunch Surprise has a good amount of the small crunchy ball crackers(?) and peanut butter chunks! Banana cream was also good, but I wouldn't say the best. They have very creative names for their flavors and I have to say the winter ones are the bomb! I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed the Mrs. Claus and Jack Frost flavor. I first tried Dolce Gelato at Laguna and really loved it there, so I was ecstatic to know one opened in Irvine/Tustin. The store here is way larger than the Laguna one and is located directly across from Bar Louie. We tried the nutty Irishman, ferrero rocher, mint chip, espresso, and creme brûlée. My favorite is the ferrero rocher just because it mimics the flavor of that chocolate so well. The nutty Irishman is a mixture of hazelnut, caramel, and Irish whiskey and is also to die for. For anyone who can't handle sweetness, I'd recommend the creme brûlée. It's so creamy and delicious! For someone like me who can't eat too much ice cream, the kids size is perfect (which I'm so glad they offer. It's even smaller than their small!)
