I've had my eye on Morning Lavendar for a while as I was particularly drawn to the their afternoon tea experience. I could hold off no longer and had to visit this charming boutique with cascading blush and ivory. A breathtaking floral wall welcomes you inside and invites you to take a seat. As you enter, greetings from staff echo from the counter. Do you check out the shop or grab a drink and browse? Whatever you do, do not skip the banana cold foam on your drink if you love banana! The hospitality here is evident the moment you walk in. Staff were ready to take our order, answer questions and even checked to see if our drinks were to our liking. Think fashionable design meets European charm for the interior atmosphere, right down to the plates. Morning Lavender offers table seating as well as booths and can accommodate large parties for events. Now for the good stuff- let's talk an Iced Mocha with extra chocolate and an Iced Chai Tea Latte with Banana Cream Foam. The Mocha with extra chocolate was indulgent and velvety with the espresso seamlessly intertwined. A decadent treat to enjoy as the morning started to warm up into the afternoon. Just a suggestion for those who enjoy the richer side of coffee and espresso. A dash of a bit more cream would've added that refined richness. The star of the morning was definitely the Iced Chia Tea Latte with Banana Cream Foam. The description of cold cream hardly captures and embodies what this Banana Cold Foam really is. Think lusciously thick banana smoothie topping off your drink. Impossibly creamy and bursting with ripe banana. Crowning the drink sat a slice of banana bathed on one side in a caramelized sauce similar to crème brûlée. Crunchy peanuts generously scattered on top, making an irresistible contrast in texture. This drink was truly an exceptional culinary experience. I will be back again and again for the Banana Cold Foam. read more

Updating my review after returning today for the first time in years. We brought our two kids in for the Tea for Tots event with Rumi. The event itself was great. Rumi was wonderful with the kids, the snacks were cute (albeit pretty limited for the price--a small tea sandwich, a small cupcake, some cinnamon goldfish), they had a little dance session, and then did photos. Overall a cute experience for the kids. That said, I got a lavender latte and it was difficult to finish. The foam was like a salted caramel, which clashed with the lavender's liquid portion of the drink. There were a lot of lavender petals on top, which looked nice, but were bitter to taste. The latte portion actually tasted ok after I grabbed a straw so that I could drink it without the foam, but the foam and toppings just really threw the drink off. For $7, I expect harmonious flavors as well as an aesthetic look. I'd definitely bring my kid back for another Tots event, but I'd not get the lavender latte again. read more

I recently visited Morning Lavender for high tea with a party of six to celebrate my grandmas birthday. Overall, we had an enjoyable afternoon, as the overall aesthetic is delightful and having the boutique connected adds such a fun element to the visit. We really enjoyed browsing the selection of clothes, candles, jewelry, and painting books. As for the tea and food, the warm scones and tea were lovely highlights, the smoked salmon sandwich was exceptionally yummy, and the rose macaron stood out with its fragrant flavor. However, there were a few areas where the experience fell short of expectations. While the smoked salmon was great, the chicken sandwich was difficult to chew due to too many nerves and the mini donuts felt a bit stale. We also noticed a few maintenance issues, including a visibly dirty/stained booth seat and a teacup given to one of our guests that was broken on the bottom. Service was another area that could use some improvement. For a party of six, the staff felt somewhat inattentive, leaving several people at our table waiting for long periods to get hot water refills. This unfortunately hindered the amount of tea we were able to enjoy during our visit. Morning Lavender has wonderful potential with its beautiful environment and delicious flavors, but with a bit more proactive service and attention to detail, the experience could be truly exceptional. read more

If you love flowers, bows and lavender then this is the place. Not only can you get coffee, pastries and cocktails but you can also buy an outfit while you're at it inside the boutique. They have some outdoor seating and a patio you can rent for a party and they host special events there too. Bathrooms smelled like lavender and were very well maintained. Morning Lavender is such a cute little gem right in the heart of Old Town Tustin. It's attached to a boutique, which makes it fun to browse while sipping your coffee, and the whole place has a super charming vibe with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating plus a few photo-worthy spots. The menu is pretty limited food-wise with light bites, pastries, and croissants, but the drinks delivered. We tried the pandan viet coco and the blueberry hojicha, and both were delicious in totally different ways. Friendly counter service too, which always helps. Only real downside is parking can be a little annoying, but once you're there, it's a great spot to hang out and enjoy a coffee. read more

I've had Morning Lavender's Afternoon Tea Service a few years ago and it was a great experience. When I found out about their Bridgerton Afternoon Tea event, I knew I had to go. I went with my friend who also loved Bridgerton as much as I do. It was a lovely afternoon. The ambiance was spectacular. There was even a violinist. I felt like I was transformed into the 1800s Regency London, Bridgerton-style. Their sandwiches and desserts were okay, but nothing tops their scone. I wish we had the option to get a plateful. I went to Morning Lavender on 9/14/25 for a 10am reservation to celebrate my boyfriend's mom's birthday. We arrived early at 9:50am and were the first guests for our time slot. The staff told us we could sit immediately or return closer to 10am, so we browsed the boutique and came back at 9:57am. Our server, Hannah, greeted us and explained the menu. She had to attend to other tables before taking our tea order. By the time she returned, the patio was packed with multiple parties--including birthdays and a baby shower. I noticed the food/dessert towers went to other tables first, even though we were seated first. Once it arrived, Hannah explained the items, and the tea, sandwiches, and desserts were delicious--as always. However, the experience was extremely uncomfortable. Patio tables were too close together, making it hard to enjoy the meal or get service. Guests constantly brushed against our table, and the noise from celebrations and airplanes made it hard to relax. When I was paying, I mentioned to Hannah that this was a horrible experience due to the cramped seating and asked if we could've been seated inside instead. She replied that yes, I could have asked or notated it in the future. She also glanced at the seating chart and admitted that they had packed more people onto the patio than usual for their headcount, which might explain why it felt so tight. I continued to enjoy my day, but prior to writing this review, the Morning Lavender manager called me at 12:51pm after Hannah told her I wasn't happy. I went over everything, and her response was simply, "oh, I'm sorry that happened." She admitted they had seated seven more people than their headcount should have allowed, which is why the tables were closer together. Regarding the airplane noise, she said there was nothing she could do. With the amount of money I spend here, that reply felt unacceptable. She then offered, "oh, we can give you and your boyfriend's mom a complimentary drink," but clarified they wouldn't refund anything for this experience. I'm very disappointed with both the experience and the manager's response. If they were aware they had exceeded their headcount, it would have been reasonable to adjust reservations or proactively offer indoor seating. Guests should not have to request this themselves. If you plan to visit, I highly recommend sitting inside for a more pleasant experience. read more

One side was a hard bench instead of individual chairs, and it felt really cramped, especially on such a hot day. There were no fans or misters, and everyone was uncomfortable and sweating. This review is for their event/buyout experience only. Overall it was a positive, delightful experience. It was easy to plan and the event coordinator was professional and responsive to their guidelines (2 business days). There were some things that could be improved. Planning - Two tables were missing two seats so a total of 4 seats weren't there as they were in the info packet diagram. It required some improvisation and worked out ultimately because some of our guests no-showed and the other table had children who sat in their parents lap. - Having done (and loved) their previous afternoon tea service before, I assumed guests would have their choice of tea. In actuality, you choose 6 teas for the whole event. There's no mention of it in the packet and we didn't find out until we arrived. You only get so much time to set up so it would have been better to be able to choose the teas ahead of time to think about everyone's preferences. - a few times I'd send over a numbered list of questions, and they would respond in paragraphs, which generally answered my questions but did not always answer all of them, which meant I had to re-ask or just assume we could figure it out later. Day of Service - Many guests didn't know how much they could eat per the tiered platters. It would have been nice if the waitstaff informed the guests what the items on the platter was and how many items each guest was entitled to. It seemed like most of the time our items were silently delivered and there wasn't a lot of checking in. - They didn't come by to refill the water for our 6 teapots often enough, so we often had empty pots for long stretches of time. The servers spent the majority of time inside the kitchen celebrating another employees birthday. When ordering a drink at the register, the barista rudely questioned our decision to purchase a drink because apparently we "had enough food and tea" with the paid service. When check arrived, I was greatly disappointed that they added a 18% gratuity and then still asked for more. Service like this should not have added gratuity. A few years ago their toddler teas were so organized, fun and worth the $30 fee. I am not sure if it is because they lost their business in San Diego and are needing to financially make up for it but their level of greed to overbooked these teas makes it quite evident how both their quality of service and management hire for events has plummeted. I would not recommend attendance or these teas to anyone. These teas are meant to be exciting and fun for littles. We arrived right at ten and our niece was crying as soon as we were there. There was no comfortable room to sit as these 25-30 kids were squished at one table. They did not decorate the table as a child tea (this is what we paid for and they used to do) and brought out the food as each child sat down (we were told but because they were so busy, they often forgot to give children their food and mini tea). The child activities were rushed and their customer service overall terrible. We can confidently say this as we certainly were not the only parents frustrated with the seating and service. I paid for two teas in one month and declined to attend the second because it was such a terrible experience for both my daughter and her cousin. It is such a shame that this establishment is going down the tubes. It wasn't this way a few years ago. read more

We asked to sit inside in the air conditioning and were told only 2-seater tables were available. We said that was fine, and they squeezed our party of 3 onto a tiny table... yet there were unused 4-seater tables inside. Food was fine but very limited. Only one of each item per person, so it felt rationed. The 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. It's been a couple of years since I've been back here and it felt both familiar and a little refreshed at the same time. The space looks mostly the same, but I did notice a few changes. There was a cute photo booth, some new drinks on the menu, and more signage for upcoming events like Mother's Day and Tea for Tots. While looking over the menu, banana cream top caught my attention. I'm a huge banana person, so there was no hesitation there. I ordered the matcha banana cream top and swapped the milk for coconut milk. When my drink came out, I had to try it right away before mixing it because of the cream on top. The house made cream top was so good. You can actually taste real banana, which made it fresh and not artificial. After giving it a stir, it somehow got even better. Every sip had a little bit of everything. The earthy matcha, pieces of the banana, that smooth cream foam, and this crunch that I couldn't quite identify but all of it was delicious! The ambiance is still one of my favorite parts about this place. It has that clean, chic, and aesthetic vibe. Great place to have showers, meet ups, and special occasions. This was such a nice experience! I had known about Morning Lavender for years, but I mistakenly believed that it was reservation-only. This morning, I wandered in and was delighted that their cafe was operating. I ordered an iced rose pistachio latte with less sweetener, and it was perfect. It's hard to make a drink with three competing flavors and *less* syrup, but the barista struck the perfect balance between flavor and mellow sweetness. The espresso wasn't lost under the flavors, and was noticeably fresh. I also got a gluten free banana bread slice, which was yummy as well :) The cafe is clean, pretty, and not super crowded around 9 AM on a Tuesday. There's plenty of seating, a nice restroom, and--- a miracle--- outlets!!! I absolutely love the Morning Lavender Cafe! I've enjoyed all of their locations, but the OG is the best! Throughout the years, I've come here for matcha lattes, regular lattes, baked goods, and shopping in the boutique. All of which have always been phenomenal. They have some of the best designs/styles for clothing, so make sure to stop by the boutique! Recently, I finally had the chance to have afternoon tea service in their courtyard. You do have to make reservations ahead, which is why it took me so long to finally be able to go, as they book quickly and quite ahead of time too. So I would suggest to book a few weeks in advance! I enjoy going to different tea services regularly and I felt their tea service itself was quite up to par with others. They had beautiful place settings, good service, delicious tea sandwiches, scones, and desserts. The sandwiches were all fantastic, the scone was perfect (especially with clotted cream!), and the desserts were just delectable. We even ordered a flight of mimosas which were all quite yummy. My personal favorite was the lavender mimosa. The only part that I found lacking in this experience was the tea itself. I tried the pot of earl grey lavender, honey lavender black tea, and the strawberry rose champagne oolong tea. I think the oolong and black teas themselves were fine, but the flavoring just wasn't right. For the earl grey lavender, the tea wasn't strong enough (most likely due to not enough tea mix in the pot as it seeped for over a hour and never got stronger). The honey lavender black tea had a bit of honey to the flavor but the brew looked like green tea and there were no lavender notes at least that we experienced in our pot. The strawberry rose champagne would taste great in the beginning but had a slight after taste of cherry cough syrup. This was my personal experience and taste, so this may not taste the same to others! I still had a lovely time at their afternoon tea and would be happy to try other tea flavors in the future. This is a clothing & dress shop that turns into a café as you walk further back into the store. The café opens out onto a large patio that can be used for tea parties and celebrations. While we were there, a group was gathering for a baby shower and it looked like a perfect spot for one, with florals and pastels being the theme inside the shop. One of my sisters bought a full, long golden-colored skirt with pockets that was very beautiful. My other sister ordered a rose latte that is made with real rosewater. It was delicious. Cute afternoon tea spot! There are such nice photo op spots throughout the cafe. The tea service comes with one pot of tea of your choice and a selection of finger sandwiches, desserts and scone. All tasted great and fresh, very dainty. Only complaint is I wish it came with a little more food... the price point is for the ambiance and the teas are pretty good.
