Absolutely terrible! Wouldn't waste a moment here. On google it says it's open so I drove 25 mins to pick up dessert for an event. Once I arrived the door was locked and there was a sign on the door which said it would open in at 3pm (even though google still said it was open). Although I was very irritated, I decided to stay and wait. Once the time came and I went to the door again to check (I gave them an extra 5 mins), the door was still locked. I knocked a few times and called and still no response. I called again once I got to the car and an employee answered and said she'd need another 5 mins. It seems like she was far from the store and needed time to head over. By that point I would've wasted 1.5 hours of my time so I couldn't wait any longer and left. Absolutely terrible! read more

Located in the Tustin District. I came into Le Macaron French Pastries one evening after dinner when I was still craving something sweet. This definitely seems like a takeout spot. No seating inside. Upon entering there was a gelato case, but with no gelato. Since it's a macaron business, I decided to try the macarons. When I looked at the boxes on display, I picked up the box of 12 and asked if that was the smallest size. I asked the lady there if that was the smallest box and she said yes. That was too much for me to eat alone so I figured I would just order them individually. I was 4 orders in when I saw a sign that had a deal for 6 macarons for $16, so I decided to order 2 more. Guess what?? Apparently there WAS a smaller box for an order of 6... interesting... not sure if she didn't hear my original question or what. The flavors I ended up with are the Tiramisu, Cookie Butter, Lavender White Chocolate, Orange Blossom, Red Velvet, and Salted Caramel. If you look closely at my photos, the surface of the macarons are bumpy with some bubbles. 2 of them were overly hard. Some of them did not have distinct flavors. A bit on the sweet side compared to other macarons. Oh there was one were the filling was strangely melty in texture. Of the flavors I picked, the best one was the orange blossom. I also liked the taste of the cookie butter and the lavender. The other ones did not have as prominent flavors regardless of their names. I tossed about half after one bite to save myself from unsatisfying calories and sugar intake. I thought the price point is fair but the product is a bit lacking for a professional business. We walked in for a quick snack after exploring the district and the person working there was lovely. There are lots of options to choose from aside from macarons but they had lots of flavors and colors of those. They also had gelato and pastries. My son chose the raspberry cheesecake and it ended up being so delicious. I am picky with cheesecake and this one really hit. It was super creamy and not too sweet. It was also really cold which was so satisfying in this hot weather. We sat right outside on the chairs that you can find all around the district. There is also a little splash pad/water show right outside. The sweet person helping us even offered to give my son a macaron "on the house" since he was staring at them so intently. I have to say these are the most delicious macarons I have had outside of Paris! Ladureè LA is not even as good as these. They are fresh frozen I was told but taste as though they were just made. The price is a little steep $3.00 ea .Absolutely delicious!! The standout flavors are, Sicilian Pistachio 10/10 Belgian Chocolate 9/10 Chocolate Praline 10/10 Salted Caramel 10/10 Mon Chéri 10/10 The service is very helpful and I haven't tried them all yet, but I had to drive 30 min to here and it was worth it !! read more

Flavors: mango (toddler didn't share but said it was very yummy), Colombian coffee (so light and delicious) and cookie butter. Visited this spot a while back after catching a movie, and had a few hits and a few miss. The shop itself is a cute little store, and we were helped by a super friendly staff member. Since they're known for macarons, we figured we'd get the 6-pack and try a few flavors. Most of the flavors we got were fruity, but upon trying them at home, most of them tasted similar to each other and it was hard to define the flavors. The macarons itself were made nicely, with good shells and filling. I think a 6 pack was around $18. I hope they vamp up the recipes in the future to make some of the flavors more prominent. read more

Omgg what a cute dessert shop with the nicest service! They had free samples of the macarons and it was so yummy. They are only $2 right now during the grand opening. They have other stuff too! Will not return. Black currant macaron was a complete miss, banana chocolate macaron was okay. Mixed berry tart turned out to be frozen. It's the first time in my life I get a frozen pastry at a pastry shop. They also knew I was about to eat it right away and gave me a spoon. We stopped by recently and had a mixed but overall decent experience. The woman at the counter was incredibly kind and helpful, which we really appreciated. We ordered the strawberry gelato, tiramisu, and six macarons (Belgian chocolate, coffee, birthday cake, raspberry, black currant, and tiramisu). The strawberry gelato was the standout. It tasted almost homemade and wasn't overly sweet. It was a huge hit with our picky toddler, who finished her entire kids scoop on her own. The tiramisu, however, was too sweet for my taste. It was missing that balancing bitterness from the espresso that usually rounds it out. The macarons were good flavor-wise, but texturally they didn't quite have the shine, delicate shell, and soft, chewy, light interior that you'd expect from a classic French macaron. That's not to say they weren't enjoyable because they were. But I did notice the owner mentioning in responses that they follow a traditional French recipe and have a highly regarded head pastry chef trained at a prestigious French culinary school. Naturally, that sets a high bar for customers, and for me, the texture didn't quite meet that expectation. On another note, I respect business owners who stand behind their products because passion is a great thing. That said, some of the responses to lower-rated reviews felt a bit dismissive. Constructive feedback can be an opportunity to refine and grow, and leaning into that might serve the business better than pushing back on every critique. I also found certain comparisons in the responses, specifically referencing frozen pastries and embryo freezing (peep Katya D.'s review w/owner's response) to be inappropriate and off-putting. All that said, nothing we tried was terrible, and the gelato was genuinely great. I'd be open to giving it another try if I'm in the area again. read more

Macarons were near tasteless (lemon, chocolate, pistachio). The cookie tasted like white flour, was barely edible. Macaron cookies were unevenly baked, cracked, the foot was off. The filling lacked flavor. On to of this the two cookies and filling unevenly put together. All these factors don't measure up to a suitable and sellable macaron, especially for an in-person shop. These looked and tasted like second hand macarons that a different bakery rejected. Perhaps they had an off day. Beignets were small and tasted like oil. Was but okay but not as good as downtown Disney of course; nice that it's local in Tustin). Chocolate pieces were nice. Best part of the shop was the friendly guy who welcomed us and introduced to the shop. Unfortunately the products don't live up to the solid customer service. read more

I stumbled upon Le Macaron at Tustin District while out for boba, and I'm so glad I did! They had a beautiful selection of bakery and eclairs, so we decided to try some eclairs and the tiramisu. The tiramisu was amazing authentic, not overly sweet or heavily creamy like you find at some other places. It was perfectly balanced, and honestly, we regretted not buying more. The eclairs were delicious too, fresh and flavorful. The service was friendly, and I really wish we had remembered to leave a tip! I let my husband buy some because he was having a big craving, even though I could tell just from the look of them that they weren't made right. Grainy tops, instead of flat and shiny. Could still see the piping mark. All hallmarks of being under mixed. The flavors were all strongly tasting of extract and had an artificial alcohol aftertaste. The pistachio one tasted like artificial almond. Dry to chew, no melt-in-your-mouth sensation. My husband regretted his purchase and ended up having to get macarons elsewhere to make up for it. Macarons are made off-location. They clearly aren't made by professionals or anyone who knows what macarons should taste like. I won't be surprised when this place closes. read more

Visited their new Tustin location on 8/2 during their soft opening and purchased one of every flavor of their macarons. These were very disappointing. The shells were lumpy due to the almond flour being course, the tops were thin and brittle, there was a notable hollow in the shells (incorrect macaronage?) and the buttercream was very light on flavor. There were several that we couldn't tell what flavor they should be. The shells were weirdly dry and crispy on top. The Sicilian Pistachio macaron also tasted only of almond extract. Shoutout to the Rose, Belgian Chocolate, Lemon Cream and Chocolate Praline macarons, these had pretty good flavor (though all had the same shell problems). Overall, I would not expect this level of quality for professionally made and sold macarons and will be a skip for me in the future. read more
