The well-curated and balanced menu is focused on Spanish/Mediterranean dishes and tapas, all expertly prepared with quality ingredients. I genuinely loved everything. We ordered fried calamari misto (fantastic!), bacalao croquettes, polenta crostini, and Olar salad (simple but delicious) to start. For our mains, the paella Valenciana and mariscada salsa verde were profuse with fresh seafood - and the mussels and clams were delightfully fat and plump. The grilled skirt steak, which we requested medium rare, was perfectly cooked. Complimentary garlic herb crostini is brought to the table, and we were given fresh crusty-chewy rosemary focaccia bread brushed with olive oil as well. We were too stuffed to go for dessert but I think the offerings were a molten lava cake, vanilla panacotta, a cheesecake of some sort, and caramel flan. The owner was there and came around to greet everyone. They are currently doing a soft opening so there's no liquor license yet, and it's cash only right now, but everything seems so well run already. While things were a little slow getting started, once our first order went in, the food started flying out. Everything we ordered throughout the evening arrived much faster than it did on my previous visit. The menu makes it sound like they'll throttle you to only a couple of items at a time, but that really wasn't our experience. We were consistently able to order several items per person, so there was always something on the grill, more food on the way, and plenty to keep us chomping away. Our favorites this time? The top blade, brisket, hanger steak, pork belly, and even the salmon ceviche, which was surprisingly refreshing between rounds of grilled meat. We did have a couple of hiccups, but Celia was eager to make things right. After we received the wrong shrimp twice, she took it upon herself to get the manager involved. They tracked down the correct shrimp and brought it out. Thanks! Speaking of the manager, Andy was terrific. After another unpleasantry at our table, he came over and sincerely apologized several times. It was obvious he genuinely wanted to make things right.
