Popped in this lovely Italian style restaurant for a lunch bite. It was a great choice. I have the fried barata and the truffle fries. I just left this place and the service was really good. The vibe of the restaurant is nice and the staff is really good. A wonderful spot in downtown Nyack. A wide selection of things to eat. Last night I had the spicy crab bisque and blackened red snapper. Both had a perfect balance of spices. My wife had lobster ravioli, also delicious. We also had a romantic table in the back away from the din at the bar. This was the first time trying the place out for Thanksgiving. We live in town so we thought why not try and see if we can add that to our list of local restaurants. The ingredients while fresh, however the breading on dishes like the fried calamari and chicken parmigiana we ordered was way too heavy and greasy. We also ordered the herb crusted Chilean sea bass. First of all, the menu said fingerling potatoes, it came with mashed potatoes which didn't pair well and chunky tomato sauce didn't jive well with me and just doesn't go with a fish dish and it was a strange pairing. A beautiful piece of sea bass in my opinion didn't need to be crusted. The other thing is, the decorations on the wall with the fish and water feature with plants, while it's okay, there was a nagging food fly or nat that kept coming around our plates. However, after our meal, we decided to take a walk because we both felt the food was settling in our stomach and we didn't feel great because the food felt heavy. Throughout the day we just felt bloated, the breading kept repeating on us and we had massive fatigue from the meal because of its preparation. It is safe to say we will not be back. read more

The 1 star is tied to the owner. Found a piece of metal (looked like Brillo pad) in one of our dinners and he brushed it off as "it happens". Minimal apology and we had to wait 15 minutes for another dinner to be sent out. I worked in restaurants for many years...the owner could have comped the entree or sent dessert. Something to show half decent customer service. Nice ambiance and our waitress was friendly. I probably won't head back because the owner just didn't care about a pretty serious mistake. read more

Wanted to give the new place in town a try. It was a Saturday night around 7pm and we were seated right away. I was very disappointed when I looked at the menu because 60% of it was seafood and I don't eat seafood. The non seafood options only looked ok. I ordered the ragú and it was only ok. The sauce was nothing special. My husband had the lamb and he asked for it medium rare and it came back well done. Service was fine. I probably won't be back because of the seafood heavy menu. Went here on Valentines Day and ended up with plastic in my food. Wrote this off as a freak occurrence and gave it a second try a few weeks later. And found plastic in my food yet again. The cocktails barely resemble what is described on the menu, and homeless people enter the restaurant and shake down guests for cash. Though that last bugbear is not the fault of management, its another reason to skip this place. A shame because the owner is rather friendly, but he needs to hold his kitchen to higher standards. read more

What a great place we found intown. Nice bar and the food was delicious. They had a bar menu and regular menu to choose from. We started with mozzarella sticks and steam clams both were great. We then shared the crab cake sandwich. The wife approved of it and she's picky with her crab cakes. Restaurant is open late to 12am so was able to enjoy the football game before heading back to hotel. Owner came over and was very nice. Must try when in nyack. read more

My husband, myself, and two friends went to this place for the first time on Valentine's Day and we were very disappointed. We had reservations for 1:30 pm. There was only one other table. The following is what was wrong: my friend asked for lemon for her water, my other friend asked for a second carafe of water to be refilled, we asked for two separate checks, my husband asked for coffee with milk and sugar, and received two spoons instead of the requested two forks for the creme brulee and the stuffed calamari was not very good and cold. The stuffed calamari was not worth the $22. My friend never got the lemon, instead of bringing another carafe of water, they removed one of the waters, they gave one check, they gave my husband half and half and no sugar for his coffee. The only items that were good were the creme brulee and our two friend's dessert of Tiramisu. We would not recommend this restaurant. It was not worth over $200 for lunch for the four of us. read more

FANTASTIC Restaurant! Warm and cozy interior, staff and server amazingly friendly and attentive, food perfection. Bonus, they have a parking lot!!!! Apps: Char grilledd octopus was outstanding. Perfectly seasoned and charred. Pan seared blackened ahi tuna was super fresh and delicous. Ratatouille was baked and served bubbling in a casserole dish. WOW. A great mix of vegetables with amazing blended flavors. Super good. Entrees: Grilled whole branzino. I best I have ever had. So fresh and perfectly cooked. Tender, buttery texture that is delicate and flakey. It's a wow. Rigatoni Bolognese. Not your typical bolognese but equally as delicous. Great recipe with the italian sausage and mushrooms. Pasta was served al dente and the sauce was so flavorful and craveable. Mouthwatering! Dessert: Tiramisu...light, delicate and creamy and delicous. Overall a great experience from start to finish. Five stars for presentation, including ambiance, and service. Three stars for food quality as it relates to price. The beet salad was nicely composed, but would have been improved with more greens - the proportions were just a bit off. The bolognese sauce was inferior, although the pasta was good. The flan was gorgeous, but the delicate flavor and texture points were missed. Other menu items were similarly a bit disappointing. It's a restaurant that should be supported for all that is right - they just need to adjust either quality or prices so the expectations match the experience. read more

A nice restaurant but unfortunately the owner does not consider customer service and courtesy to be a major priority. On a recent dining visit there was an issue with one of the dinners served and when we brought it to his attention he simply minimized the issue and then berated our server even though it was not her fault. After he departed I asked the server about what had happened and her response was that many of the staff had resigned due to his abrasive and abusive manner. Considering his response to my complaint and the unfair treatment of the serving staff I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. read more
