The atmosphere of the store and the area was very nice, making this location a nice stop on a hot day, or a cute little area for a date. I got two flavors on my visit: Dark Chocolate and Peanut Butter Stracciatella. With a small, you can pick two flavors. DH had gelato (salted caramel and chocolate) and I had the sorbetto (half blueberry and half pineapple lime) ... not sure of all of the ingredients. I usually opt for gelato but sorbetto sounded more refreshing. With tax our total was $12.08 ... so not an everyday sort of place for me. Service was courteous and fast. No waiting but I think that is unusual. I have walked by here many times when it was quite busy. My one turnoff to the store was a very dirty glass door ... no doubt sticky fingers from young customers. Not sure how often the glass is washed, but a clean look is important for any store, especially one serving food. read more

Dolcezza is well known for their gelato and although I'm always up for getting a creamy delightful treat, I could not the day I went to Dolcezza. It was a cold and dreary day in the Mosaic District and I was unfortunately a little under the weather. Luckily for me, Dolcezza is also known to have some tasty coffee beverages. A hot beverage was just what I needed for this chilly day. I ended up getting a dulce de leche latte ($4.50) and a alfajores cookie ($2.50) for the evening. The dulce de leche latte was pretty strong in flavor. At first sip, I could taste instantly the boldness of the brew. As for the alfajores, I enjoyed the shortbread cookie. The cookie crumbles right away at first bite. It's very delicate. It's a good cookie to pair with coffee and thus I made the right choice to get this along with the latte. Pricewise, you definitely indulge when coming here. I was a little surprised when my bill for the coffee and cookie came out to over $7 with tax. Nevertheless, it was a treat and it was a pleasant one. If ever I found myself in Dolcezza again, I would love to try their gelato. read more

My friends and I really love going to Dolcezza after having dinner. It's the perfect place to grab a small bit of scrumptious gelato. This particular one is owned by the same people who own Mom and Pop across the street. Located right under Target, this location is super small and can get quite busy depending on the time. Regardless they always let you try samples of all their gelato. This particular time I ended up getting the Mascarpone and Berries and the Black Sesame. The berries are super prominent in the first flavor and are super refreshing. Not too sweet, this is perfect for a small treat. The black sesame is definitely one of their more unique flavors. It was slightly sweet from the base and the sesame adds a smokiness. My friend ended up getting the Dark Chocolate and the Salted Caramel, two tried and true flavors that are way more indulgent and equally as delicious. The seating inside is limited so if its cold or raining beware and plan accordingly. When it's nice outside, people prefer to sit outside and watch people walk their dogs. Parking is in one of many lots around the Mosaic district. I would highly recommend stopping by if you've had dinner at one of the restaurants in Mosaic. read more

We were able to sample the different flavors of gelato, and I ultimately decided on 2 scoops of Thai coconut and salted caramel in a waffle cone. The Thai coconut tasted EXACTLY like real coconuts that I've had in Thailand, and the salted caramel was delicious and the flavor wasn't overpowering. I have been to Dolcezza several times now and apart from the stellar gelato I am generally underwhelmed with their coffee. The cold brewed is bitter and not palatable, I made the mistake of ordering it once, took two sips and tossed it. Their hot chocolate is pretty good and has a faint hint of cinnamon. It's also and served burn your face off hot, which is a nice way to warm your hands in the winter. Their cappuccino and mocha are just OK and sadly served luke-warm. They are both also heavy on cream, slightly lacking in coffee flavor. The staff is still super friendly, but unless I want gelato, I think I'd rather venture up to the Starbucks in Target next time I want to get coffee in the Mosaic District. read more

The best baristas left, same with the food staff. Seems like they can't keep their best people the past few months. It looks like it's full of kids now, which wouldn't be a problem if the quality was what it was back then. I don't recognize any of the staff from what it was not even 4 months ago when I came in regularly. The direct management do their best and are nice. The Coriander Lime and the Mango Chardonnay are my two favorites - they do change their flavors, so sometimes, the flavors you desire are unavailable (which always seems to be the case with the Coriander Lime (as they haven't had it for the past 2 years!)). This place has so mny interesting flavor combos that you can't help but want to sample them all. I should have tasted the salted caramel before actually getting it, but i thought the 2 were both safe flavors (aka good anywhere). However, the salted caramel was TOO salty. I know it's supposed to be salty, but the salt is supposed to elevate, enhance, and balance the caramel - not overpower it.. That being said, the service was very friendly. I felt bad asking to try 3 samples, but the girl who helped me did not look like she minded. My friend got the grapefruit and lime/cilantro sorbet. She said that at first they were delicious, but when she was halfway through her cone, she said her tongue was starting to hurt from the acidity. Omg! This place is so good! All the flavors that I tried was really tasty- I tried the hot pepper, thai coconut, salted caramel, and pistachio. You have to try the pistachio! It was so creamy and rich. It was a perfect balance of a sweet and nutty flavor. The thai coconut was creamy and not as sweet ( I would describe it as slightly bland) but still it was really good! Service is always pleasant and they have such diverse flavors, different from your average gelato shop. My absolute favorite flavor (quite possibly in the entire world) is the Avocado Honey Lime. Sounds a bit different, but it's got this fresh blend of sweet, sour and natural taste to it. Hard to describe but you may need to try it for yourself. I agree, the prices may be slightly more expensive for the tiny little cup they give you but I find that in every gelato shop I go to. The process for gelato is much more complex and overall quality is higher so I understand the inclined prices compared to your average Ben & Jerry's outta the fridge. I love Dolcezza and I come here pretty frequently. I almost always get the dulce de leche latte. It's a little pricey especially for the amount of coffee you get, but man it's good. The gelato is wonderful (get the stracciatella). This Dolcezza is very small and can get crowded sometimes, especially if large groups come in with kids to get gelato, but the service has usually been pretty quick for me. Also, I feel compelled to compliment the baristas! They have always been so friendly and efficient when I've been there.
