It's always great to make an appearance at Dolcezza and enjoy a sweet treat! There are so many flavors to choose from and they're high quality. The service is also nice as they let me sample various flavors. I ended up getting a split scoop and loved my combination! I will say that this place is always packed, so be ready to swoop an available seat both indoors and outdoors. Highly recommend Dolcezza!

I tend to skip ice cream shops unless I'm traveling or it's a special occasion. That said, I visited the City Center Dolcezza location recently with some out of town guests and had a nice experience. I visited on a Sunday night around 8 PM and there was a small line, going out the door by a few people. It moved quickly enough. I like the shop decor a lot, with clean lines, large windows, and a few seats. I had a large ($10ish) with three scoops: Hazelnut Crackle (like ferrero rocher), Black and White Cookie Batter, Vietnamese Cinnamon. These all worked pretty well together. The star was the Hazelnut, which did taste exactly like ferrero, which meant it was delicious. I found the cinnamon a bit to punchy on its own (like Red Hots, which I don't like), but it mellowed out when eaten with the other flavors. The Black and White Cookie did taste like one, but that also meant it was not as strong as flavor as the other two.

I got two scoops -- Italian hazelnut paired with affogato -- and they were perfectly smooth and delicious. The service was a tad slow, but that was only because a group ahead of me wanted to sample a few flavors before ordering, so there wasn't much that could be done to speed things up. I also ordered a large matcha with mango purée, and it was the perfect balance of sweet and earthy. I was told their purées are made fresh, which was great to hear -- fresh purées over syrups any day! The place was very clean, and the service overall was great. The worker was patient, friendly, and super helpful.

I came back and this time there was no wait and the staff were super friendly. I got a pistachio affogato and let me tell you that it heals the soul. It is so creamy and the flavor is unmatched.

Long line that moved quickly. Staff was on it and super helpful. The gelato was delicious. Every flavor tasted great and had a creamy texture. Definitely worth the wait!

First time trying this place. I got the mascarpone gelato and loved it. I was appreciative of the staff for letting us try multiple flavors even though they were busy.

I can't give much of a solid review because I had a seasonal drink--but the seasonal drink is delicious! The banana spice matcha is to die for folks, like absolutely insanely good. I'd been wanting to try it but couldn't find myself near a Dolcezza for a minute. I finally tried it and I was so impressed!

Beautifully consistent European oriented coffee -- always so refreshing compared to what's typically available. I usually come by when my morning pour over isn't enough, though the mid afternoon pick me ups are also great. They're making me a flat white convert . That said, their flat white, cappuccino, and macchiato are each done properly and distinctly, so if you're visiting the area with colleagues from abroad this is the solid post lunch coffee choice. It's lovely and light inside with floor to ceiling windows and a stellar location being right at one end of City Center.

I'm not usually a big fan of specialty ice cream or gelato, but this place was really good! I got the dulce de leche chip and the black and white cookie butter, and both were absolutely delicious. The staff were super friendly and patient while I tried to decide, and the serving size was generous -- which I really appreciate. It was so good that I started eating before I even remembered to take a photo . Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and craving something sweet!

The epitome of gourmet coffee shop...this quaint, tasty shop has what I needed to cool off from the humidity. Super friendly and helpful staff, whom gladly let you sample the different gelato flavors. Yes, my ice cold brew and gelato was $19 after tip but worth every penny. One of the best taste in gelato I've had around. The COBRA was bold, strong and refreshing. Yum!

The gelato is so creamy and the Hazelnut Crackle and Coffee & Cookies gelato flavors hit the spot! The service was great and let me sample a variety of flavors and landed on the chocolaty flavors. Appreciate that I was able to get a split scoop. The Hazelnut Crackle and Coffee & Cookies flavors paired very well with a nice crunch. The portion was good and worth the pricey $9. Looking forward to coming back and visiting other locations!

Stopped by for a late night treat. It was nice to find a place opened till late to grab something sweet. The service was super friendly and the establishment was clean with some seating available. I had the dulce de leche chip and it was delicious, not too sweet. The portion was also decent given the price.

Walked here from the Chinatown metro stop which was only a few minutes. I tried a few samples and decided to get a small with two flavors: pistachio and coconut dulce de leche. They were both so creamy and thick, very very delicious! There was mostly only bar seating but there was one normal table which I sat at. They also had a few outdoor seating but there were so many bugs I ended up getting bit so I sat inside. There were bugs inside as well though. I liked that they had free water stations. Also saw the national guard standing around the ice cream place for like 30+ minutes not sure what that purpose was.

All were perfectly creamy and not overly sweet. Chefs kiss! I appreciated that they offer mini scoops for $3 in a cup with a cone- just the way I like it! Their gelato display was also beautiful. They have an array of non-dairy sorbets on hand as well with fun flavors like lemon lavender. I'm a sucker for hard to find and clever flavor combinations. The cherry on top? Friendly staff and clean space. Highly recommend!

A freezer held a wide selection of gelato pints, including some flavors not available in the display case. I appreciated that even the small cup could be split into two flavors. The gelato, vegan options, and sorbetto were all neatly organized, and the staff were generous with portions. Deeper into the shop, there was also a dessert case and a menu for coffee drinks. *Toasted Almond: intensely nutty and very forward in flavor. It tasted almost exactly like almond extract in the best way. One of my favorite nut based gelato flavors I have had. *Vanilla: similarly bold, with a rich and pronounced vanilla flavor. A sweeter take on a classic, but still very satisfying. *Green Tea: well executed with a clear earthiness. It was not overly sweet or milky, making it a solid and above average version. *Cherry Blossom: a seasonal flavor that could have easily felt gimmicky, but was handled well. It reminded me of a lighter lavender honey profile, not overly fragrant or sweet. It tasted natural and paired nicely with creamier flavors. *Espresso: true to its name, though slightly sweeter than expected. It was the least sweet of the group but did not stand out as particularly bold or aromatic. *Honey Mascarpone Fig: my favorite of everything I tried. The mascarpone added a slight tang and depth, while the honey and fig brought a soft, almost jammy sweetness. This was the most balanced flavor and would pair well with many others. While they do not offer as many flavors as some dessert shops, the quality across the board makes up for it. The execution is strong enough that it does not rely on gimmicks, and I would definitely return to try more of their seasonal offerings.

I got a crepe with gelato; although it said two flavors were included they offered me three small scoops for some reason, which still wasn't a ton. Honestly just getting the basic gelato in a cone with or without a chocolate or a macaron is better. The location has two floors, and you won't hear the honking so much upstairs. Service left something to be desired; I don't begrudge anyone who works for a living but it was not as high-caliber of an experience as I've had at other Amorinos. It also matters that this isn't the best ice cream in DC or even in Georgetown, and we have local gelato as well.

Totally inexperienced with ice and snow, I thought it would be ok. Google search said putting some sand / salt / cat litter under the tires could help and I walked into Amorino hoping to get some salt and try that. The 2 staff who were in there were glad to help, I got about 4 cups of salt from them and spread it under the front tires, and was finally freed from my predicament. THANK YOU so much! I've tried other DDL lattes from other coffee shops around the city and this one is by far the best. It's good hot and iced. The seasonal strawberry matcha is also very good. This place is great for the seasonal drinks and gelato flavors using local ingredients. My absolute favorite seasonal flavor is the Blackberries and Cream gelato. I ate it so much last summer that I could see the color of the gelato get darker as the season progressed and as the berries reached their peak. I got a few hand packed pints to keep in the freezer but they didn't last long. The mascarpone & berries is my favorite classic flavor. I've been to every Dolcezza location in DC and my favorite is the DuPont location. The baristas are chill and somehow their drinks taste better than the other locations. Not sure how that's possible but I notice a difference. I think it has something to do with how the drink order is entered at the register. At another location, I noticed my DDL latte was entered as a latte with DDL syrup and it was noticeably off. Not sweet at all. When I asked the barista he said there was no DDL button but at DuPont the drink is perfect every time. I'm not usually focused on nitpicking but if I'm paying $10 for a coffee, I expect the taste to be consistent regardless of location. Back to DuPont. This location has decent seating but definitely isn't appropriate for longer study sessions during busy times. There's a large communal table and bar style seating along the front window that is great for people watching (or construction watching).
