THE BAD So the 3 star is mainly for the steak tip panino special, probably should be 2 stars. For some reason I thought a steak tip sub should be warm but the steak tips and caramelized onions were cold so the cheese didn't melt either. And it was definitely not worth $15 it only came with 4 small pieces of steak so I was mainly eating the bread (which is delish! One good thing was that the marinade on the tips were yummy too!). This was my first visit and I even brought a coworker because I was so excited to try domenics. I've been watching the phantom videos for years now. I got to say I will be back to try the other subs. Prob will try the meatball next. THE GOOD In addition to the sub I also bought the Arancini and the Chilean empanadas and both were super yummy! The empanadas bread is so moist and tasty. I like to try things at least 3 times before raving about it, but Waltham-ians... head over to Dom's because this place is doing EVERYTHING right. I just finished my "Dom's Special" sandwich and I couldn't be more satisfied with my lunch choice today. Literally, some guy parked with half his truck on the curb today just so he could get in faster. I totally judged him, but then I took a bite of my sandwich and I totally get him now. This is a place that has gained popularity just through word of mouth & the line definitely proves it. There is limited seating indoors (10 chairs maybe?) and there are a couple tables outside. I didn't know what to get, so I just got what the guy in front of me got. The Dom's Special is pretty freaking special, indeed (look at picture below). I also grabbed a large chicken soup for my sister who is feeling under the weather. We both really enjoyed the chicken soup - it was kindof small for a "large", but I think it's worth it. Our school's cafeteria serves Domenic's food so needless to say I've been eating their food for way too long. I've tried pretty much all their sandwiches and pastries. My favorites are: Caprese: Mozzarella and Tomato sandwich with toasted bread. Super light and refreshing! Makes me feel kinda healthy when I eat it. Chicken Parm: Pretty darn good and filling. Big ass piece of chicken breast. Eggplant Parm: I love eggplant. Meatball: Pretty flavorful meatballs. Probably one of the most filling sandwiches they offer. I took some friends to Dom's for a little "man lunch" today. I don't think anyone left hungry or unimpressed. Dom's might be a little drive for people who live in the city, but seriously they have the best sandwiches. Last time I recommended the Parma. In truth, it's amazing. But my friend tried the "Dom's Special" which they describe as a "classic Italian with the addition of sweet capicola and prosciutto." We got there right before the lunch rush (About 12-1pm) and boy do they come out! The line goes right out the door, but don't let that scare you, as the line moves fairly quick. I ordered the Doms Special ($7.99) Mortadella, provolone, sopressa, capicola, prosciutto and added red peppers, tomato, lettuce and fresh mozzarella all on a fresh baked daily bread that is delicious. Oh man, this sandwich was so good! This is one of the best deli sandwiches I've ever had, hands down and I've had my share of sandwiches, believe me! I ordred from Dom's for Xmas eve of 2022. I ordered a full pan of Lasanga, full pan of Sausage, Peppers and Mushrooms and a half a pan of meatballs. Upon arriving for pickup, they only gave me a half pan of Sausage, Peppers and Onions vs. a full pan which is what I ordered and PAID for. They told me to hold on and took the half pan in the back, I saw the worker cut 1 or 2 onions (without gloves) sautee them. He then opened the half pan threw it in the full pan and added two sauteed onions. When I arrived home I opened and was so suprised. I ended up having to place an order for additional food near me so I had enough for my guests. I tried calling them about 6 times the phone rang and nobody answered. I called on the day after Xmas and spoke to John in catering. I explained the situation. He asked me to send text pictures which I took and text explanation of what happened and he would get back to me. When I didn't hear back I texted him again and he said they would offer me a gift card. I said I don't want a gift card I want to only pay for half a pan, because that is what I received. He then called me back and said that is the best they can do. I had to call American Express to dispute half the charge, which they did for me. But, to my a mistake, then attempt to scam a customer by adding a few onions and then refusing to make good on it is bad business!! They are dishonest merchants. The food was good, but given their ability to make this right, I will never order from them again. BEWARE. read more

It's a really good small Italian deli that has fresh and homemade panini bread/sandwiches. They do have a few seats outside when the weather is nice. I've been going here since 2004 and keep coming back. My absolute fav is the Panini parma (I love the moz/tomato/basil/proccuitto combo). The prosciutto makes the sandwich. So you can tell it's good quality. My co-worker likes tuna without mayo, so she likes the Panini tunno. You can also just make your own sandwiches with normal deli meat too. Get the large...it's more worth your money and is the size of a normal sandwich (two halves). If you get the small, it's basically just half a sandwich. And if the bread is just right, it has the perfect crispness to the crust and nice and soft on the inside. They also have various italian food that varies, but I think it tends to be on the pricier side. So I've never gone for it. If it's during the lunch rush, I would check out their menu online and then order ahead. That way, you don't have to wait in line cause it can get long when the weather is nice and people are hungry for food. They're great for bringing something different to the table for party platters. We used to get a bunch of sandwiches for meetings and they make it easy to pick up and serve for lunches. Fax order, pick-up, and enjoy! read more

This local, Waltham gem is one of my go-to places for lunch at work. It's a five minute drive from my workplace and it serves some of the best deli sandwiches I've had in Mass. They bake their own, delicious bread daily and use some incredible, very fresh ingredients as well. It's no wonder that they've been in business for over 30 years. On my first trip there I ordered up a parma sandwich, which is essentially a freshly baked bread roll with some high quality prosciutto, mozzarella and some tomatoes. They throw a bit of basil in there as well and BOOM, you have an amazing, tasty sandwich. I have returned a few times since and intend on eating my way through just about every single one of their sandwiches. Along with those, they also have pasta dishes, salads, risottos and even baked goods. I tried one of their cookies and it was a bit on the dry side though. The service is lightning quick, and they accept credit cards. Parking is fairly easy to get around there as well, whether it being in their private lot behind the shop or metered parking in the street. Most sandwiches are made to order as well. Although the food was very good I had a few things I didn't like. 1. The sandwich bread was only panini. (hard bread to chew) 2. When I asked for spinach, the lady laughed at me. Like how am I supposed to know what you have? 3. When I told her what I wanted on the sandwich, twice, she still wanted to put onions on. She gave a vibe of she did not care what I had to say. 4. The price seemed steep for a can of water, chips and a sandwich. Somethings I did like: 1. The guy at the register had a completely different attitude than the sandwich lady. If you ever happen to be in Waltham, MA, you must try Domenic's!! The bread is baked fresh in house and it is absolutely unreal! My favorite is the Parma because I find it most light and refreshing of the paninis, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Of the hot paninis, I love the meatball, eggplant or chicken parm. Make sure to get an arancini ball on the side no matter what you order. Excellent sandwich shop!! They slice the meat fresh and there are lots of different combos to choose from. I went with the Bomba hot panini and it did not disappoint. I also got an arancini ball, it was al dente and perfect. Great with the marinara sauce. Domenic's offers pizzas that look tantalizing as well. There isn't much seating available, just a counter that runs along the length of the window, but service is friendly and fast even during the mad lunch rush. I was super psyched to learn of Domenic's before moving to Waltham and couldn't wait to try 'em out. I might have waited a little too long unfortunately as when we arrived at 6:30 PM on a Friday evening most of the good stuff was gone. The guy behind the counter seemed really put out that we had to ask what was in the various "signature" paninis - had we known the takeout menus described all the sandwiches we probably could have saved him some time. I'll say this about the food - the bread was amazing, the ingredients were really fresh, and once I got the sandwich home I was able to add a few ingredients to make it more to my liking. The desserts (raspberry tart/chocolate chip cookie) were okay, but nothing special. All in all Domenic's is definitely worth trying but I'm not going to kill myself getting back on a Friday evening - if I'm ever in town during the day I'll try and swing by to sample some of the food that was sold out. read more

I LOVE this place! A word of warning though it does get really busy during lunch time. Don't let the line out the door scare you away though, it moves quite quickly. My favorite sandwich would have to be the Pollo, breaded chicken cutlets topped with house-made fire roasted peppers, olives, capers, and goat cheese! The salads are great, soup is delicious, and pretty much everything else I have had there is great! I work close by so I have sampled a huge portion of the menu. Dear Tonno Sandwich Maker Lady, Not only do I admire your sandwich making skills, but every time I have gotten the Tonno sandwich, it is PURE PERFECTION. I will not eat any other tuna except yellowfin now. The marinated artichokes are soooo flavorful and juicy. The olive tappennade flavor pops in my mouth. Remnants of a red chili pepper is sprinkled all in the tuna. I opt for the soft bread because I find it better than the crispy bread. I've worked in the area for 7 years, and before that went to Bentley for 4. When I first started, Dom's was clutch. Really tasty sandwiches on this super fresh bread. It was always super busy and a bit pricey, but good food so no complaints. We'd also get it occasionally brought in for work lunches (definitely no complaints there). A few years back I noticed the quality of their signature bread turn south. It was no longer fresh, more just soggy. Also the other ingredients within the sandwiches got soggy and fridge-y tasting too. It was almost as if a new manager came in and demanded that they only use nasty store-bought items.
