I married a 100% Dominican woman from the island that lived in Washington Heights after she left DR. This place has great food. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Some left a bad review because they said they ordered a quesadilla and fries that were OK. If you come to a Dominican restaurant and order a quesadilla and fries I'm sorry you are an idiot and know nothing about the culture or what to eat. So the ambiance. Is it a 5 star restaurant? No. Stop complaining about what they have to wipe your hands in the bathroom. If you are looking for a fine dining experience then go to Midtown. It's small, the music is LOUD at night and it gets crowded. If you don't like that vibe then go somewhere else. I've been to eat during the day when it's pretty empty and at night when it's packed. Service has always been good with longer waits if you go when there is a concert or an event at night. The food....very good. The only Dominican food I've had that is better has been food my wife cooked, my mother in law cooked or food in the Heights in New York. Definitely the most authentic Dominican spot here in Atlanta. The picadera is SO GOOD. Their beans taste just as good as what I get at home. My wife loves the Mondongo which is hard to make. Rabo is good so are the bistecs, the chuletas and the chicken I've eaten. I haven't tried the Mangu but my wife says it's good and she makes it AMAZING. I've said this before on reviews and will say it again. You have people expecting to get food like DR. Sorry people but we aren't in DR. We aren't in Washington Heights. I'd love to have it that good here but it's not going to happen. It's still doesn't make it bad. The food here is consistently good and I go often with my wife. Get the Picadera Dominicana. Best thing there.

Their plátanos maduros were plentiful and deliciously ripe as well. The red beans were flavorful and lacked any trace of canned beans. I also tried the empanadas. They come with mayo ketchup as a dipping sauce. The dough was tasty but the ground beef could use a little more seasoning/flavor. Service was friendly, although very slow, which I am willing to overlook because the food came out fresh and hot. The restaurant is humble and appearance but clean and inviting. This is my go to spot for good Dominican food from now on. God knows it's hard to find good Cuban food in Georgia, so this will be a good alternative.

Cutting The chicken resulted in it becoming stringy. Like it was uncooked or, like it was pork. Makes me wonder if it was chicken now that i think about it. I was disappointed overall at the bland flavor. The salad only had two tomato slices and a couple chunks of cucumber. Ranch, Olive oil, Vinegerette were the dressing options. Thats pretty much it. Wasn't worth the $21 spent in my opinion.
