Went on Thursday night after seeing a movie at the Hollywood Theater and we were glad we did. I got the "Christmas" enchiladas to taste both the green and red version. Wife got 2 tacos with beans and rice, one asada and one al pastor. We also had chips and guac and a margarita and Paloma. Everything was delicious. Chips were warm and guacamole was delicious. I visited Domingo's on a weekday for dinner recently. It was easy to order and then, sit down. There's a lot of great seating inside and outside of the restaurant. The service was good and it was friendly. I got chips and salsa for my boyfriend and I. I got a carne asada burrito for myself. The chips were good. The pico de gallo was fine. The burrito was on the medium side and was very tasty. I also liked both of the salsas in the bottles given especially the green one. Huge fan of their Lengua! Very tender and generous on the portion. The hand-pressed corn torillas were also heavenly. Al Pastor was tender but a tad fatty and bland for me. Nothing their delicious and fiery salsas couldn't improve though. Enchiladas Mole Plate was probably my least favorite. This might just be because I'm not an expert on mole but I was expecting something more savory and/or sweet but this one was just very muted...Rice and beans were great and so were the enchiladas themselves. Had the Bistec Encebollado and a margarita while enjoying a sunny day on their patio. Staff was friendly and food served promptly. Their patio has shaded and sun seats along with indoors. The meat with my dish i didnt find too flavorful and had a decent amount of fat on it but the sautéed onions, rice, beans, and tortillas along with marg were all good. It was slammed in Cinco de Mayo so I didn't order everything I wanted, but I enjoyed what I got! For some reason I never knew it was tucked away where it is, so I definitely would have missed it if I wasn't invited to come. It looked like a fun atmosphere and folks were kind. This was a great family owned Mexican restaurant. I was very impressed. We had a group of nine that wanted to dine in for lunch. They may be accommodations for us. For my lunch got an enchilada plate with beans and rice. It was absolutely delicious! Not over spiced, Not undercooked, hot as it was brought to the table. I definitely would eat here again. I actually referred a few people to the restaurant for lunch. They also thought it was very delicious. This was their newest location, but was informed that they have another location that has been there for 20 years. If you're in the area definitely tried Domingo's. Highly recommended. If you're craving authentic enchiladas this is going to be your new spot. Most places in town don't give you nearly enough sauce, not here. We had so much fun here for lunch today. We walked in and were immediately greeted with such great energy and happiness from the staff there and ordered our food (which was made relatively quickly!) I love the way this space is decorated and really reminds me of being back home. We got the chance to sit down with the owners and just converse and have a good time together. First time dining at Domingo's. The vibrants colors on the outside , you cannot miss it. We were greeted by James, immediately makes me feel home. I asked about the recipes he told us that they were family recipes and they work here too. This restaurant just celebrated its first anniversary in January. Well time to eat, we ordered chilaquiles con salsa verde, the chips taste fresh and crunchy, love the sauce and has the right amount of chips, I was looking for soups they offered menudo and pozole I choose the pozole loved the flavor , broth was amazing with the touched of the lime juice wedge that comes with it, I love nopales we ordered 2 , they were well seasoned, and to finish we had to try the tamales they have raja con queso and chicken both were to died for by this time we were so full. The ingredients in the burrito were balanced. The hot sauce that was available on the table gave the burrito a wonderful kick. I'd recommend this place staying at one. Finally! A classic Mexican restaurant option in the Kearns neighborhood restaurant row (a couple blocks off NE 28th). We live nearby and are elated that Domingo's has opened at this location. My family find ourselves eating here about once a week. Often for takeout but sometimes to dine in. This Mexican food is at the high echelon of what's available in Portland. The mole and other Oaxacan dishes are a standout here. But my family has been partial to all preparations involving the pork al pastore. And I'm grateful they now have beer on tap. This seems to be a family-run operation and the service is genuinely friendly. The food comes out quickly-- so it's practical to just show up, order takeout, and skip the online ordering platform. The ambiance is simple. The outdoor space will be fantastic and likely dog friendly as the weather improves. read more
