They will call you a liar even if you show proof of their mistake.. aweful place , do sad because their staff actually has better customer service than them. Went in today for the first time. The service was incredible! With very attentive pleasant staff. My fiancé and I enjoyed the chips and salsa immensely- fresh and warm chips with a flavorful salsa. We had the albóndigas soup which was delicious. I ordered the carne asada plate which came with a cheese enchilada which was a nice addition and the rice and beans were delicious. Fiancé ordered the fajitas which he enjoyed and we both thought the tortillas must be made fresh. We rounded out the meal with churro sundaes and let me tell you, if you're craving a Disneyland churro just go here and get the homemade fresh real deal! We will absolutely be back again and really appreciated how we were served tonight. read more

Went in for lunch on a weekend. Waiter came for our order. He was super distracted and kept continuously looking away around the restaurant. We had questions about the food we wanted and felt we weren't ready so he said he'd come back. Quite a bit of time passed and he never came back, but was taking other orders and serving food to others. Nice young lady finally took our order. Found out she was not a waitress, but hostess willing to help out. Other actual waitress also helped with drink refills and was really nice. At the very end before we left the waiter came back to clear our table line he was our server, but we made sure the tip went to the right person. Beans and rice were great. The spicy salsa is too. I had the enchilada and chili relleno. The sauce was ok. Could use more flavor. I'm used to having homemade enchiladas with California chili powder as the base so take that into consideration. Mal servicio! I'm giving this place one star because of the server. The food was alright, cold but tasty, unfortunately he made our dining experience unpleasant. ( Beans and rice were cold, fajitas were hot) We were afraid to say anything about the cold food for fear that the server may do something to it. You are in a service industry, you need to treat the customers friendly. From the moment we walked in he treated us like we were bothering him. Maybe he saw 4 women and thought we weren't going to tip which we still did and kinda wish we didn't. Or he is prejudice, because he seemed to treat the " lighter" people nicer. I use to frequent this place all the time when I lived here. We were visiting our mom's for an early Mother's Day celebration and he soured the experience. We will be moving to Tehachapi soon and will stay clear of this place. It's very unfortunate, I used to love this place. Will probably never go again. I hope if you do visit this place you get a better server and have a better experience. Or hopefully that server straightens up his act and treats people like humans no matter their gender of pigmentation/ nationality. I had the senior plate, chili relleno, refried beans and rice. All was completely tasteless. Even after adding a tub of hot sauce over everything. Food was ok, I have had much better Mexican food living in California. The service was lousy, server was very unfriendly and seemed completely irritated with our presence. I am a huge advocate of service workers and an excellent tipper...so big mistake. I could maybe understand if they were super busy or we were a difficult table. Neither applied. A "thank you" or "do you need anything else?" Would have been nice to hear just once. The guy was a total jerk and ignored us as much as he could, not even responding to the several "thank yous" we gave him. Maybe just an off night, but I was so unimpressed by the drinks, food and service tonight. I swear the margaritas had no tequila. Usually they are quite strong. I told our server that it tasted like mix only and he said "well you can order something else because another margarita will be the same." Apparently they are pre-mixed. So I just ordered a tequila shot and then it tasted like a margarita. The soup was Luke warm as was my entree. The guacamole was runny. Got camarones a la diabla, let me just say it wasn't good at all. I tried to like it but it was too tomatoey and sweet.? had to be the worst camarones a la diabla I've ever had. Let's start by saying that there's aren't many great restaurants in Tehachapi. But if you're looking for a night out with a date, or with your family, this place is PERFECT. The food was good; I've been to many Mexican restaurants and I'd give it a B++ on the scale for Mexican food. The restaurant was large, with a table area and a separate bar and seating area. We went to the dining area, so I can't comment on the bar. The decor was not fancy, but it was nice, well-lit, cozy, pleasant, and actually reminded me of Mexico (in a good way). It was't filled with ridiculous sombreros and other decorate crap that you see in a lot of American Mexican restaurants. It's simplicity was relaxing. It was quiet The service was EXCELLENT! The waiter was kind, gentle, and always tended to our needs at just the right time, but without being intrusive. As soon as we sat down a young man brought us chips and salsa, fresh and hot! He continued to bring us refills throughout the night, which was very much welcomed as they were delicious! Food was priced very reasonably. I ordered the Enchilada/Tamale combo, which came with fresh rice and beans and pineapple. My boyfriend ordered the pork fajitas. The beef in my Enchilada was a tad dry, but still delicious. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his pork fajitas, even though he said they were a little greasy (which doesn't surprise me coming from a man that usually orders salads for dinner). The wine and drinks were not expensive either. Overall, it the food was yummy and satisfying, the drinks were good, the atmosphere was perfect for a cozy date, and for the two of us we paid somewhere around $35 total. We went to have the Champagne Sunday Brunch. It was buffet style but we were unable to serve ourselves. We were served by a young man who looked like he was a customer in normal street clothing- wearing no gloves, mask or anything that represented he worked there. While he was serving our food he sneezed in his and continued to serve us, no hand sanitizer or hand washing, grossed me out! The food itself wasn't very good and there wasn't very much selection. Orange juice tasted watered down. They had enchiladas, Chile rellenos, rice, beans, potatoes, bacon, sausage, waffles and omelettes. I was disappointed all around, would not recommend. read more

When I think of a Mexican restaurant and it's food I put 3 things in perspective 1. Table Salsa 2. Adult Drinks 3. Flavor profile execution. To come to number 1: great salsa spicy flavorful and easy to fill up on. Number 2: Adult drinks. Classic margaritas are served in a tumbler and are delicious but if you want a drink with a bang! Get a Mai-Tai it's served in a large glass and hits the spot. Now for number 3: Flavor profile and execution. One less star because it's not consistent every time. Some days it's to rave for and others it's just "k" staff and host are never missing a beat and I will eat there as a favorite because they make the mark more than miss. We'd given up on Mexican food in Tehachapi. After living here three years and trying most of the ones in town, especially the one "everybody" raves about, we were totally disappointed and just stopped trying. We made sure to satisfy our cravings every time we were in LA or Bakersfield. Sure glad a friend said we were really missing out and we needed to try Domingo's. I grew up in LA and it felt just like walking into the neighborhood joints I went to when I was young. Everybody was super attentive and friendly. You really felt welcome. The chips were fresh, the salsa just a little spicy but not too. The Chile Verde was delicious with, again, just the right amount of heat. I loved the place and will be coming back at least once a week. I'm so glad we found Domingo's. read more

We were pleased to be seated quickly in a comfortable booth, where we were immediately served chips and salsa and had our drink order taken. The chips and salsa left us feeling like we opened a bag at home and warmed them and opened a jar of mediocre salsa. The sodas we ordered had an odd taste that almost made me feel like the machine needed cleaning. Our food order was taken quickly, and the food was served very soon after. We ordered the ground beef enchilada suizas ( which were good) with delicious rice and beans; steak fajitas, which were also very good. I ordered the fiesta platter to share with my two young grandsons, and the variety was just okay, and didn't seem very fresh. The service after we ordered was not great, but not bad either. Not very good. About the only thing good about this place was the margaritas. Ordered the shrimp tacos with some guacamole on the side. The salsa was very running, the chips did not taste homemade, the guacamole was watery and didn't appear to be homemade, the shrimp was frozen and reheated (not grilled at all), the italian salad dressing was watery with little flavor at all and the service was very sub par. Its no wonder the Lancaster location closed. It wont be long before this location closes, as well, if they don't change. I definitely won't be back. read more

Chips were hot. Salsa was mild but thick. Bacon/pork in the pot beans. Chile relleno tasted like it had been made ahead and frozen previously. The vegetarian flour tostada grande was not only topped with chilled crisp lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream and guacamole had beans, grilled squash, along with previously frozen carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. My suggestion would be to not use frozen vegetables though. Other than frozen veggies it was delicious. Service was average. Always went to the Domingo's in Boron. Since it is no longer there, I decided to try the one in Tehachapi. The menu was similar to the restaurant in Boron so I ordered an old favorite, the Steak Ranchera. When it came, it looked just like what I remembered. Unfortunately, that was where the similarities ended. It was prepared well but there was absolutely no flavor. The menu said it was spicy. I guess you could say it was spicy if you consider tomato sauce spicy. Very disappointing. On the bright side, the margarita was good. I don't think I will bother going back. read more

Ah yes Domingo's. I've pointed out other establishments in Tehachapi, but I've been assured that Domingo's is the only REAL restaurant in town. I've eaten there three or four times and I haven't hated anything to date. The service is reasonably good, and drink refills come at an acceptable pace. I typically enjoy Domingo's steak fajitas. They serve homemade tortillas, and their salads are always fresh. I've had the Carne Al Pastor a couple of times. Both times the meat was tough and slightly less seasoned than what I'm accustomed to eating in the Los Angeles area. I've never been to Domingo's for lunch, but I've been told that they serve an outstanding lunch buffet. If you're already in Tehachapi, and not confined to the prison, you could do a lot worse than Domingo's. read more

This has been a family favorite since I was little. I have had my "birthday dinners" here several times and the staff is so fun. They will sing to you, they may put whipped cream on your nose, and take your picture, and hey! You get free dessert! the Chicken Salad is my favorite, followed closely by their flautas! The ranch dressing is the best ranch in town. Everything I've ordered has been great, and the staff is always so friendly and warm. Whenever we have family get together's, we usually come to Domingo's. Pro Tip: Order the flour tortilla chips, and extra cherries in your drink, super good! read more

On the other hand, it's quite appropriate to point out that Domingo's is only 4-star in comparison to the other eateries available in Tehachapi, CA. Domingos is a long standing establishment in Tehachapi and for good reason. The food is consistently delicious (although not exceptional- if you're looking for Rick Bayless quality Mexican food, you're going to have to go to Los Angeles). The service is solid- we've come to know the staff over the years and although they have some typical turnover, you'll notice familiar faces year to year (and they'll recognize you too!). Drinks are reasonable and they make a decent margarita. There's tons of seating and it's a good restaurant for groups. It's one of our most reliable favorites in the Tehachapi area. I love their arroz con pollo and their burritos are pretty killer, but let me tell you, I'd consider giving a toe for their albondigas recipe. read more

My family and I have been coming here for years and prior to the new owners taking over the food was somewhat ok; I would get sick off their margaritas and food. With the new owners, I still get sick! I would order margaritas and had them taken back twice one night, and at least once on other times, because of the terrible mix/flavor and the food I ordered was horrible. The taquitos tasted like they were fried in the oil for frying fish! Tasted like fish when it was chicken! Was horrid! The oil even tasted old. Took one bite and Sent my meal back. I left hungry and with a stomach ache and terribly dissatisfied. They have not improved from old owner to new (they even had a kitchen remodel?? Maybe to clean the kitchen?) It is actually getting worse. New menus also look rediculous. read more
