I always forget to review this place because I always feel at home and get lost in conversation with the staff. Great, home-style breakfast and lunch. I love the menudo, enchiladas, and French toast. Their coffee is my favorite cup in Goleta! Sometimes the service is a bit tense or there are items you can't order because the cooks don't like to make it after a certain time, that's the reason for taking off a star but 95% of the time it's great. Domingo's Cafe is known to have great Brunch entrees and I walk by this place often because it's near my work. We came with a group of about 8 friends and the server did a great job of servicing all of us. I ordered the Double Ortega Burger which was a decent burger but nothing special. I did enjoy the pepper but the meat was average and I was disappointed that I only got one pickle and a tiny slice of avocado on the burger, the patties were small so I feel like it was overpriced. I'm willing to give this restaurant another shot someday since breakfast is their forte and not burgers, my friends' entrees looked delicious so I'm still enthusiastic. read more

I tasted the broth and I want to say it tasted almost canned. There was no flavor, no spice. Super bland. Soup was lukewarm. They used lemons instead of limes. A little odd. Our friend brought us here for breakfast before we hit the road out of town and even though it looks small, it was quite a good space. The parking lot is a hit or miss, we got lucky and found d a spot as someone was pulling out. You can enter from the back or front but we entered from the back and were not sure where to go to get someone to seat us, maybe a future suggestion to tell people to go up front or find a table. Anyways the service was slow, our friend told us that's how it is, its great food but you have to wait and when the waitress comes you tell them everything you want in one swoop. So we did and had books and crayons for our little one, got our drinks and then finally the food and they were huge portions and delicious!!!! I had a special that was that day and our friends got some mexican breakfast plates and our little one got a pancake with eggs and potatoes and we all ate until we couldn't anymore. I came across this place while on business in Goleta. I had to take my lunch and it was only about 10, so I didn't want to quite do a lunch place. The location was easy to find, parking not too bad, although I did go at an irregular time. I got the Santa Barbara omelette. It was pretty alright. The portion itself was huge, but the omelette was pretty watery. There wasn't much cheese and really not much flavor either. The hashbrowns get a whole star themselves, those were quite amazing. The hot chocolate wasn't bad either! The water tasted like it came from the gutter, which is why I ended up ordering hot chocolate so that I actually had something to drink. I'd probably go here again to try something else. But I just wasn't too crazy about what I ordered. read more

I fell in love with this out of the way local diner. It was built in a former post office and run by a local family this is amazing. My husband and I both enjoyed our meals immensely but were more impressed with the service. Lots of checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Refills of hot water for tea. . Domingo's is sooo homey. This normal down-home diner is an oasis in the sea of spit-polish that is SB. They do have some good vegetarian options. Definitely give it a shot if you're in the mood for a classic all-day breakfast. Maybe go somewhere else if you're looking for fancy. read more

My second visit confirmed the place serves very flavorful, fresh tasting traditional Mexican offerings for breakfast that are reasonably priced and served with a smile. The staff clearly cared about my experience both visits- offering a friendly welcome, and professional service. Can't remember ever caring enough about a side dish of beans to write about it. At Domingo's the beans will offer you a creamy, satisfying texture and a complex flavor. LOVE. Chile Relleno with eggs on the first visit and cheese enchiladas with eggs on round 2. Both several steps above traditional with lots of flavor and nearly perfect texture. Get a side of house made salsa. I crave Mexican food, and eat it every chance I get. My dining partner had the Chile Verde burrito & chicken taco, and I had the Huevos Rancheros, which came smothered in salsa with a side of some of the best beans & Spanish rice I've ever had. We went to Domingo's because the reviews looked good and when we called they advised us that there was no wait. After a long Friday night, a no wait establishment sounded really nice. Waiting over 10 minutes for our menus and waited countless times for our drinks, refills, sides, and to-go boxes. I would understand if it was busy or if she was the only one working but that was not the case. We kind of felt like the ugly-stepchildren (non-locals). Everyone was content with their food. We had the breakfast burrito, an omelet, and a burger all ranging in prices with nothing really going over $12. It's basic food and should get the job done.
