My husband had a turkey burger and fries for lunch that was so good! He kept asking if it was really a turkey burger because it was juicy & flavorful. He had me & my daughter try it out for an early dinner. I had the plain Jane without cheese or onions with fries & my daughter had the BLT. The burger was seasoned well and so good that I ate the whole thing. The bun was seared and yummy. The fries were fresh potatoes fried & seasoned wonderfully. The BLT was on toasted Texas toast. The bacon was crisp & cooked perfectly. We enjoyed the food, but the young lady behind the counter made the experience better by being pleasant & knowledgeable. Man o man... I really had my heart set on going to this place because all of the hype I've heard and read. Well it was just "ok" nothing special... meat feel apart while I was eating the burger, which left a meatless burger. Flavor was meh, fries... just ok too, weird texture to them, kinda spongy and no flavor. So needless to say I really wanted to LOVE this place, I was hoping for fireworks when I took my first bite. I've ordered from here a few times through Ubereats and I must say I have never been disappointed. The serving portions are HUGE for the price and the burgers are homemade. I've had the classic cheeseburger, onion rings, fries, and the turkey club, and I have yet to be disappointed. The food is always delivered quickly, the onion rings were still crispy and nicely seasoned. The burger was juicy and all the toppings were still crunchy and tasty! Staff were extremely friendly, while waiting for my food, an employee came up and asked me if everything was okay and offered me a cup of water while i wait. As we pull into the parking lot we utter the words that many people probably have, "didn't this used to be George's Bakery?" Don Burger is a one-off family run storefront. Order at the counter, and endure a short wait for one of the best burgers in Garland. Mine came out hot and grilled to order, medium. The toppings overflowed such that I was fearful it wouldn't hold together. It did, and the onion rings were so crisp. I got the "monterrey Burger." To be honest, the burger was fulfilling. However, it wasn't as flavorful as I expected. My issue was not with the burger, it was the fries and I got the sweet potato fries. Again, whenever Fries costs $4 or more, I expect it to be worth the price. To my surprise, it was soggy, and no sause at all? Maybe drop a ketchup packet to show that you're at least trying.
