I don't know any place in Miami with better home made salsa than the great Don Burrito. I have been going here, I don't know, maybe 15-20 years and the quality of their food has never wavered. Decor is very mexican is nice. Looks clean of course they just remodel the restaurant. We have the chimichangas was good the rice and refried beans have a funny taste. Order flautas I didnt like them one bite and I didnt like them i told the server and everything went downhill from there this is why u getting a lower rating really bad service the answe was we dont change it I just say I dont like it and I'm no eating this I want to try the cocktail camaron and she was we have to charge you and I of course I dont ask for nothing free. Went and ordered a steak quesadilla and a chicken soup, the Quesadilla was Soo yummy and Soo was the soup but then it had some yellow rice, I did not add to the soup,( thank God I didn't) I decided to try it by itself and it had the worst off putting taste like I seriously tasted cigar or cigarette in it....like ash taste that stayed in my mouth,( and trust me I know that taste from way back when I tried the smoking thing which I liked long ago) . I spit that thing right out. Now why would the rice have that taste?? Imagine I would have added it to the soup? And that is why I give em a three star. Very disappointed, I've eaten here before many times and it seems like the quality of the food gets worse every time I come here. This will unfortunately be my last time! First of all, I ordered the house saled and the lettuce was half spoiled, had some brownish coloring that definitely looked like it was expired lettuce. I ordered a Mexican fajita and I stated that the meat to be extra cooked, it was not. It's happened before and I thought maybe this time it would be correct. The beans appeared not to have a good taste like before and they were room temperature, not hot. Oh by the way, the meat of the fajitas were stuck together instead of the normal fajita thin cuts, the meat was stuck together and looked literally like an octopus, that's how I can describe it. On their website, they listed a delivery service from a company called Sauce, that they list as a Preferred SERVICE. I used this service for the first time today and the driver left the food at someone else's home, I explained to, not just the delivery service but also the restaurant, that the food never made it to my home, The delivery SERVICE said that I needed to wait for a refund and the restaurant basically said that they've never had any issues with this delivery service. Bottom line, I have no food, spent Fifty Dollars, and have not gotten a refund, and the restaurant is absolutely not helping with the service that they have Listed on their website as a trustworthy company. This is a terrible way to do business. I realize that anyone can make a mistake and drop off the food at a different location, however to have to wait for a refund is completely unacceptable, especially for something that was their mistake. I told the manager what had happened, and the first thing out of her mouth was that they've never had absolutely any issues with them and that it must've been a new driver. It's sad when the incident that occurred is not being validated or heard, and I as a customer have not been made whole and have to wait for a refund, when they have a picture of where they left the food and I sent a picture of the front of my home showing where I live, which is completely different. For all of you, I would completely steer clear of Sauce delivery SERVICE, as they are not trustworthy. I hope you all do not have to go through what I am going through, because you will be out the money without absolutely any retribution. The tortilla soup was... unrecognizable. It also had a seafood fishy taste in it like it was made in the same pot with a seafood soup. It tasted NOTHING like traditional tortilla soup. I'm married to a Mexican and I have lived in Mexico and El Paso, Texas...so I know what I'm talking about here. The Jamaica (Hibiscus drink) was too concentrated. I was able to pour HALF into another cup, add cold water to fill the cup and it STILL tasted good! In highly recommend asking for an extra cup...then it feels like free refills. Feeling back at home! A good reminder of days gone by....we have been customers since they were on 99th and Sunset. They have now expanded. The decor is classic dia de la muerta. The food was amazing!!!! We haven't been for awhile. As we all know with COVID things weren't just the same anywhere. Completely satisfied to see they have returned to be as they were originally. FANTASTIC! Nothing better then a family run business! Plenty of fresh new staff with smiling faces! So happy for them!l They also have a bar now! The margaritas are flowing! There are very few times in my life where I've encountered the Goddess, but I did at Don Burrito. But Don Burrito is no catholic church, it's no temple or shrine, it's not even a Botanica, but with one bite I saw the origin of all things. Snookie my beloved friend enticed me to meet her for lunch at this place by stating they had the best horchata in South Florida, and that it was made from scratch with fresh ingredients. This is significant because the majority if not all other restaurants make horchata from a powder. Now trust me my friends there's only two things that will evoke the "Fabio" out of me, beautiful Mediterranean women and horchata. Food for the gods is an understatement. The chicken chimichanga I ordered was truly divine. Each bite I savored, then I gazed at Snookies soft Cuban lips, bite after bite I then saw the face of the Goddess shining like the Miracle of Fátima. The horchata was enlivening, it's taste was indescribably rich, it nourished me like the fabled Soma elixir of the vedic god's. Snookie was on cloud 9, she ordered some steak based fajita dish. It came out pipping hot on an iron plate, presented perfectly for a Queen. Note: I don't like Mexican re-fried beans and rice, never have, but I absolutely loved it here. I have been coming to Don Burrito for many years now with my family. They used to be located a little further east on sunset but don't worry the change in location didn't change the food. The restaurant is small but has a good amount of seating for its size. I have never had to wait long for a table unless it's cinco de Mayo of course. The staff is always very friends and welcoming to us. The owner is there most of the time and is very dedicated to her restaurant. You will see her running around doing a little bit of everything to help the staff and make sure things run smoothly. To start off I pretty much always get a queso fundido with chorizo (because a plate of melted cheese is always a good time) and a frozen margarita for that Miami heat. My go to meal for now has become the burrito norteño which is a typical burrito but with guacamole in it. If you are in the mood for a soup the tortilla and chicken soups are also excellent. It is very important that you save room for the dessert because the sopapillas are delicious! Pretty much picture dessert tortillas with ice cream. I'll definitely be back next time I have Mexican cravings! read more

I love the location because it's 7 min away from my house. The food is yummy and fresh. The wait for the food to come out is average, which is good cause you know is not precooked and just reheated. I absolutely love their decoration - they have a piñata smack in the middle of the restaurant hanging from the ceiling amongst other cool Mexican Knick knacks. One of my brothers ordered the steak chimichanga $10.95 that comes with rice and beans - he enjoyed it to the fullest. I ordered the special plate that comes with flautas, chicken/steak nachos, enchiladas, and quesadillas- it's a great way to sample a little of everything. It cost $14.95 and it can be shared. My other brother got the steak campesino (he opted not getting it with stuff it comes with like rice/beans since he's on a diet) and a side salad. I was charged for things that other times they would've just add, like more chips and salsa or not charge for exchanging flour tortillas for corn.
